How is the music scene in your city?

>Porto Alegre - Brazil

> 2 types of indie bands,
the stuck in the 2000's ones (playing old Strokes, AM and Franz Ferdinand songs)
The Tame Impala's wannabes

>Dadrock cover bands

>Some guys playing acoustic guitars with girls singing MPB (brazilian samba from the 60's)

>Rich high schools kids playing in Heavy Metal bands
Normally playing Power Metal and Prog Metal

>Poor high school kids doing conscious hip hop
Very inspired by the brazilian hip hop movement from the 90's and some still active popular brazilian rappers (like Emicida)

>The same poor kids but with a more popular and party vibe of music, playing brazilian funk (Funk Carioca)
Normally talking about bragging of how much money they have (which it's ironic because they have none)

>Calgary
>lots of folk
>lots of sjw trash
>some really good black metal

It's fine

>Berazategui - Argentina
>Literally nowhere
>Literally no good bands

Fuck my life

>Regina Sask
>Shit everything
>except
>best black metal scene in Canada

could b worse

Well I'm on the other side of Brazil, Manaus - AM, and it's basically the same shit you described.

Not much of a Funk scene, tho, but many Sertanejo and Forró aspiring stars.

Also some of the indie bands try to mix in some regional music, with varied results. And if there's a rap scene it's buried very, very deep, underground.

Indie bands with a regional, that's sound interesting

Hey man, I'm also from Rio Grande do Sul!
I have nothing to say, OP already said it all.

*Regional touch

>Worden, MT
>I AM the music scene, I''m the only person here (to date) that has put out an album.

kill me

Is it a good album at least?

I think it's shit but i'm using this as an opportunity to shill.

I'm going under a different moniker for my next one though because I wanna put a little effort into it.

I liked the lo-fi atmosphere and guitar sound, but 1 hour it's kind of lot to listen to it. I'm gonna put in my backlog for now.

>Omaha, NE
>lots of crappy singer-songwriters
>every indie band wants to be Bright Eyes, some are decent but most of them are awful
>surprisingly good metal scene
>no good rap whatsoever despite the northern part of the city being one giant ghetto

Meh/10. It was better back before every wannabe Connor Oberst jagoff started a band.

Are you retarded?

>vancouver
>literal shit-ass oligarchy
>controlled by a dozen or so talentless idiots
>one good venue

a bad joke

step up, nigger
Lanús city reporting in

>Fort Collins, CO
>A bunch of old folk artists
>Sadbois with punk and rap bands
>Educated people from CSU doing jazz
>The guys from Cracker and the Descendants hang out around here.

6/10

look like a 8/10 to me

>3.The Day I Was Born Was The Day I Started Being Suicidal
Haven't listened but I hope this is ironic

>old farts playing shitty ass folk music or cheesy "classic" bolero
>kids who strum meme songs on their toy acoustic all day
Kill me.

>Grand Forks, ND
>craziest punk scene on the planet
>high school kids playing sold-out shows with 300+ people in one tiny record store
>literally nothing else

Catavento may be all psychedelic and shit but they are pretty great, for real
Honey Bomb Records have some great artists
Great place to live, Gaúcho friend

A BRILLAR MI AMOR

My band is the music scene in my city and that is unfortunate because my band sucks

OP here, I went to there show with Boogarins tough they were more punk than psychedelic. To be fair our music scene seen to be pretty good, just little too much of a circle jerk to the Arctic Monkeys

1. cross record - wabi sabi

Green Day wrote a song about how absolutely boring our shitty town is
23 years later it's still just as boring
Our most interesting event is our fucking squirrel festival for fucks sake
We don't really have a music scene

Longview (Washington) or Rodeo (California)

I'm from POA too user, let's make a band. What genre you like?

>Valparaiso, Chile

>huge extreme metal/punk scene
>commie pseudo-sjw folk-prog scene
>a lot of dadmetal cover bands
>trashy rap
>some indiefucks

I want to live in the south, they at least have a screamo scene.

Longview
The home of the squirrel bridges

Psychedelic protopunk

>Nashville - Tennessee
>everyone is in an indie band who wants to sound like The Black Keys or Mumford and Sons
>Country cover bands who only play on broadway
>every black guy tries to sound like future
>there is apparently a punk scene but I can't find it and what I have heard is just the most boring lo-fi rock I have ever heard.
>the only electronic music here is shitty dubstep producers
>tfw this is music city

>Ballarat (where I actually live)\
I dunno, there's like 2 bands I like here. City is pretty small

>Melbourne (nearby, easily accessible, where I go to more shows)
FUCKING AWESOME.
Seriously, the Melbourne scene has produced so many great bands in the last few years
The Bennies, Clowns, Cosmic Kahuna, The Smith Street Band, King Gizz, Camp Cope and whatever else you're into

The entire thing is ironic.

>Seattle, Washington, USA

>great garage, shoegaze, and psych rock scene
>good electronic djs, great warehouse parties
>vibrant hip hop
>perfect shitty hardcore/punk/noise venue

Seattle has great niches and really great music nights around the city

>northern soul night
>british indie dance night
>psytrance nights
>motown night
>break dance nights

Lots of amazing venues have come and gone in this city but there are still so many gems and I feel lucky to have such a vibrant and diverse music scene here

>Nashua, NH
>fuck if I know I never get out
>someone end my miserable life

>not posting the best album

>Houston

>Omaha, NE
>Bright eyes

>Cursive

Don't really listen to any of it.

>Ashtabula, Ohio

Download is free. They're touring with Nails next year and they released an EP earlier this year (it's on spotity).

Brazil sounds pretty cool, actually.

Brazil is generally really good in terms of music, but the brazilians doesn't actually appreciates it.

It's that bad?

No. Some parts of some cities are a pretty bad, but after a few months you get used to it. Don't believe in the alt right memes guys

Get used to being deep in shit isn't a good thing, user.
