Google Abbott laboratories

google the pill names and hope they're drugs

Additional information. It has the name "The Abbot Laboratories Chicago" I would think looking that up would help me. But I can't find anything similar to this case

keep that op, maybe its worth a lot of $$$$$$ just dont take the pills or lose any, take more pics, take to pharmacist to get a opinion

Just start taking them. Post results

I have looked it up. And i have even looked up the meds. But they have no names. Just what is in it. One vial says Copper Arsenite. And it's effects are shit like causing tremors and death

Even if you took them, the potency is long gone.

Research what they are and proceed to get fucked up

I have tried to email specialists about it. They have been no help. I'm also kinda worried going in person because some of this shit is pretty dangerous. I'm worried it may be illegal to own.

you sound like such a little fucking bitch. take the fucking drugs and post the results.

It's not illegal to own, grandfathered in nigga.

That sounds suspect, time stamp pls op.

This. And Abbot is one of the world's biggest drug and medical supply companies on earth. It's an interesting collectors item, nothing more.

Whatever you do, don't fucking take them.

Judging by how old those pills are the only thing that seems to be still used today is that Calcium , the rest of the pills though are discontinued probably due to harsh side effects and also new medications that came out with less risk and better quality.

But good find op ! Pretty neat

please take a pic where the writing on bottles is in better focus so we can look them up.

also timestamp

Nah. Atropine is still used. Can't make out much else due to OP having Parkinson's and taking a photo with a potato.

Didn't notice the Atropine lol, on my phone can't really make out any of the rest tbh , op should give us a more focused photo

Here is one vial I haven't looked up

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abbott_Laboratories

These sell on ebay for a few thousand at the least

I am not sure if this is helpful.

fuck i want to take that "calmative" (sedative) for kids, i bet it gets you zooted, possibly a barbituate or opiate

Not sure where you are, but try contacting a museum in your general vicinity. Even town/village historical societies might have some info. If you're solely looking to sell, contact some auction houses.

Hope this is better

The Digitalin is foxglove.

I can't take better pics. My phone camera takes 7 megabyte pics so I have to lessen the quality to even post them here

Do any of them say
chloral hydrate
thats a good one right there

It's a beautiful piece! Display it nicely in your house or sell it to a museum so all can see! They will pay quite generously!

lol i saw the word strychnine

fucking poison

I need some POTEN

hi op, chemist here

my recommendation is that you take that shit to your local EPA office and have it disposed of, if the chemicals in that repertoire casually include copper arsenite you are probably in possession of more, equally toxic compounds which may be toxic simply by touching them

those vials look extremely old and degraded, if the glass were to break and the powder spread into the air from one of those you could look at genuinely serious harm

please do not dump them down the sink, put them in the trash, or take any of the drugs you find. the condition of the case and the containers of the chemicals means they could very well have cross-contaminated each other, so you may very well get a little copper arsenite in with your calmative.

if you want to sell the case and the vials i am sure the office that decontaminates them will return your property after compounds have been disposed of, but i am warning you: do not open any of those vials and do not take anything inside them or you run a serious risk of being poisoned

oh shit I can see where this thread is going....

Second from the right, what does the rest of the label say?

Find a museum that pertains to this sort of stuff. They may be willing to buy it off of you, or at least take it off of your hands.

take it to the pawn stars, they got an old pill guy

fag

do a flip and put all da cooper shit in ur urethra

>please do not dump them down the sink,

"Calmative for Children" is probably Heroin

...

From the looks of it it's a homeopathic kit

Don't open the vials, but should be non hazardous... they dilute the substance beyond avagadro's number, that is that not one molecule of the substance remains. It's just sugar pills, basically.

Pretty cool though, could be worth a few bucks to a collector

Uterine Tonic

the first one is quinine, malaria treatment

half life on drugs expired. no results except negative.
some states in us you can get arrested for not reporting found pharmas especially this old.
congrats you found something worth next to nothing. you should consider being a fag.

Well seeing from all these posts. This specific set seems to be incredibly unique. And extremely dangerous.

got heroin?

ignore this moron he is literally spouting nonsense

the chemicals in that kit are absolutely not homeopathic, you do not 'dilute' a solid and avogadro's number is a means of relating the actual number of molecules to an interconvertable quantitative measurement of relative amounts of a substance used in a reaction

and the word you're looking for is 'mole' faggot, not 'molecule'

do not play with those chemicals unless you know the specific hazards associated with them

Keep that shit faggot. Looks cool as fuck

Google "homeopathic tincture"

It's still used. We call it Anaspaz. It's a GI antispasmodic. Won't get you high, but you'll fart less.

Swallow all of it.

This guy has the chemistry knowledge of a 2nd grader that failed grade 1 chemistry

Rich doctors collect antiques like this. It's actually fairly valuable. I know because I saw one on Antiques Roadshow a few years back.

You're the one spouting shit, faggot...

books.google.com.au/books?id=N4N9bsxc2LYC&pg=PA88&lpg=PA88&dq=abbott laboratories chicago homeopathic&source=bl&ots=9hXGfSfnUj&sig=N-lYEfa0x466kbpWqhfoQqqSeA4&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwitzdj92aHOAhUCFJQKHQhGBH0Q6AEIHDAA#v=onepage&q=abbott laboratories chicago homeopathic&f=false

just sell that shit im sure its worth alot

Abbot's innovation was the use of the active part of a medicinal plant, generally an alkaloid (morphine, quinine, strychnine and codeine), which he formed into tiny "dosimetric granules".

STFU about half-lives unless you're talking about the radiation that addled your brain before you fell out of your mom's ass.

Many of those molecules wouldn't react with anything as long as they stayed dry, in the dark, and out of contact with fresh air (i.e. seals are good). So as other anons said, don't fucking open any of the vials. Call a local pharmacist (a real one--might have "apothecary" in the store name--not the jackwagon at CVS) and ask what do.

Praise to our lord and savior Abbottman!

there is literally nothing in the section of the book you linked that relates to the chemicals that he has in the pictures he posted, the compounds are directly named on the bottle, it does not take much investigation to find out which ones are poisonous

stop spreading shitty information

What I've learned about my interesting case from Sup Forums

It's dangerous.
I should kill myself with it
And I shouldget rid of.

It's not that bad, OP. Just don't take any of the stuff (no surprise there, unless you're a retard) and you can probably sell it. You can look up the compounds one by one if you want to, just realize the nomenclature has changed a lot in 100+ years.
I would wash your hands after you touch it tho.

No fag. Keep it. Its pretty cool

Here OP. Looks like you've got about $500 in antique dope. Congratulations.

Google "homeopathic kit", faggot
That's exactly what it is

No, his information about homeopathy was correct. Homeopathic preparations are completely safe, plain sugar pills with no pharmacological properties at all.

He was wrong about the bag being a homeopathy kit, though. Abbott Laboratories never produced homeopathy, and at least a few of the bottles have legible print and are legit drugs (I can spot digitalin among others).

Modern homeopathy kits are made to resemble old timey medicine kits like this one. At the time this kit was made, all medicine looked more or less like this.

you are an idiot, wikipedia abbot pharmaceuticals and get the fuck out

...

So are you saying this guy invented drugs?

Rad

This
Don't be an idiot. Eat some morphine

This book from 1914 on google said irisoid was a treatment for eczema books.google.com/books?id=uNQz4No6kVUC&pg=PA217&lpg=PA217&dq=irisoid&source=bl&ots=rM81k_-JDF&sig=8eFYnojhJCOLRtPc4qP-d-HOB5U&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjDiouz36HOAhXGXR4KHaLOAjcQ6AEIPjAG#v=onepage&q=irisoid&f=false

Seeing how old it could be and the place it came from. Could these all be prototype meds?

google.com.au/search?q=homeopathic pills&client=ms-android-htc-rev&hl=en-AU&source=lnms&prmd=isnv&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwikq8r736HOAhWBQpQKHQ0KCHUQ_AUIBygB&biw=360&bih=561&dpr=3

It was apparently known as iris versicolor, or blue flag. Also used to increase bile production, for inflammation, and as a laxative.

not letting this die just yet.

I am still trying to find information on this. Is there anyone out I could probably get in contact with that is actually having luck on finding information?

Abbot Laboratories Chicago Homeopathic Kit c. 1917

Safe, worth about five hundred bucks... nice find... don't eat the pills
