Sydddddd

fuck off

Pink Floyd fucking sucks

Kill yourself user.

Here's another one with Roger playing a Black Strat during the In The Flesh?/Animals Tour back in 1977

...

...

...

On my wall

I saw Pink Floyd on the Division Bell tour in 1994 and I saw Roger Waters perform The Wall in 2012. 2 of the best concerts I ever saw

Pink Floyd is soooooooo fucking bad. 3 minutes of a fucking clock ticking before some old faggot with a delay pedal even plays a riff...

how bout his fucking SHIT ton on the wall. Jesus fucking switch out of the bridge pickup you fucking faggot.

3 minutes of a fucking jewish piano before the bass comes in... i've got better things to do with my time.

also Syd Barret never did time in a ward- sorry fags

SHIT tone*

If you don't like Pink Floyd, then leave the thread. Simple.

Anyone listen to The Wall Immersion stuff?
Some of the demos are nice

Yeah, The Doctor is amazing. Same with Another Brick In The Wall 3 and Young Lust.

Iconic music of the era. It's the same as criticizing led zeppelin, rush or black sabbath. It was groundbreaking regardless of your opinion. And you can blame Alan Parsons for the fucking clocks.

Leave the user alone, he will leave and jack off to gay furry porn.

Why should i wait 1 1/ minutes to finally get to the song, the intro is too fucking long.

(me)
I feel like you're 16.. are you 16? If so I'd strongly advise you to fuck right off of Sup Forums all together.

commercial garbage, ripping off music turned out of Austin Texas

This is now a "Anything better the Pink Floyd" thread. Also i'd like to say i hate the fucking name. Pink floyd sounds like shit and their coverart is cancerous.

ITT: people who don't like pink floyd

This band is fucking terrible

But was good before

If you have not seen this, it is worth it for the interviews alone.

Fine, who do you like then?

All in all your just another dick with no balls

Piper was fantastic

youtube.com/watch?v=EOta1fulN1Y

Native Construct, Tesseract, Thank you scientist, snarky puppy, not this shit tier dad rock.

David Gilmour is Pink Floyd, nigger. Roger Waters is just some dickhead.

I hate that they split up Another Brick in the Wall, it's so much better when it's a single uncut song

I love Floyd. However, I thought this dragged on.
Set the Controls seemed like they were improvising, weren't they?

*I second

For me there are three distinct phases

> Syd Barrett Era
> Waters + Gilmour Era
> Post Waters Era

I like all three in different ways.

Also, you can almost put The Wall as a going away album for Waters as it was largely about his daddy issues. Still a great album.

Technically, yes.

Alright my mom ironed my blue jeans for me

i fucking love pink floyd

i even had a darkside hoodie in highschool

Older brother gave me a Dark Side T.
*emotion bubbling*

My phone background for the longest time. I'm actually going back to that. Thanks user

Shit b8

You're welcome for this thread my friend.

Your opinion is wrong

Hipster cunt

shit band for dad ass dads

They talk a bunch about how many songs were them just experimenting with all sorts of electronic goodies that had not been available in the past.

I don't even really think that song is in the progressive rock category, its way out there.

Will Set the controls ever be played on the radio, probably not.

>dad rock
>being this retarded

Been waiting for this thread for a long time. Thanks OP

what could have been

Welcome. This was a experiment to see how Sup Forums would react to a Pink Floyd thread.

opinions on this?

Hello? Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me.

Good cover art. Shit album. Shit band.

A result of marketing and non-collaboration.
Still good.

One of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces.

Why is that, anonny?

>Division Bell B-Sides
Good, but not as good as The Division Bell

yeah i guess it's kinda hard to call it "Dad Rock" when Pink Floyd fan's have never had sex

ain't b8 faggot.

Pink Floyd- literally SO boring they had to put on a fucking play so that people would see them

all albums after the wall are rushed pieces of shit

Favorite underrated Floyd song?

Sorrow, preferably the Pulse live version.

youtube.com/watch?v=AdKNlGfkyhc

I feel there should be a poll going. As user said earlier, there are essentially three phases of Pink Floyd. Most of us know where each album lies.
Name your favorite song/ album so we can get a general consensus

dark side of the moon

Albums don't lie.

Uh oh. Facist grammar Nazi

Uh oh. Humorless edge lord

Who said about cutting you up, mane? I just wanted to cut a little tiny bit into your forehead AHAHAHAHAHA

Im torn. Meddle is where its at for me, buuuuuut, Animals is great

Like asking a parent to choose a favorite child. Album and track not necessarily the same.

> Syd Era
Album - Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Track - Bike

> Waters + Gilmour Era
Album - Dark Side of the Moon
Track - Echoes

> Post Waters Era
Album - Pulse
Track - Sorrow

*Almost humorless

is this not a reasonable place to park?

Lol, i think im nearing 10 times watched now. Some parts just get funnier

I steer clear of Syd's music. Not out of preference, it just hurts my head to try to follow along

...

Literally was about to complain about the lack of Wall artwork in this thread

Pink Floyd, The Doors, and Pink Floyd was my soundtrack through High School. Got me thinking deep about life. Pretty inspirational.

Love animals, but need to take some time to listen to it all.

"When they turn their backs on you, you'll get the chance to put that knife in!"

"Deep" as in how deep the cocks were in your ass from listening to Pink Floyd,

Favorite album- Animals.
Has anyone heard the Les Claypool Frog Brigade version?
Fucking awesome!!
Also anyone who says Pink Floyd sucks is a complete douche.
I mean seriously, c'mon.

Abba fan spotted

** and Rush **

Dogs reminded me of the Cigarette smoking man from X-files.

Doing his job of shitty oppression, but at the end of the day just another old guy dying of cancer.

Love the delicate sound of thunder version of this.
Guitar solo on the live version of on the turning away is awesome as well

People used to try harder in my day. A troll had to get a right proper bat, big and juicy, lovingly crafted. Now they just yell and rock the boat and wonder why they don't catch any fish.

the lyrics to time are somewhat prophetic and at times, unfortunately so

>and then one day you find
>ten years have got behind you
>no one told you when to run
>you missed the starting gun

don't let it happen to you

Was just thinking of listening to on the turning away, next up for me

I remember listening to that in high school thinking how 10 years was a ridiculously long time ago.

Now 10 years is just a blink of lost time.

I joined the Cult of Listening to Floyd just after Ummagumma .. I found it childlike, interesting but not very. Then Atom Heart Mother, and I was kind of hooked. Then Meddle, and, well, seriously immersed. Dark Side was a bit of a disappointment for me as there weren't any long orchestral bits on it. Still love it though.

And now, Division Bell is my go-to Floyd album.

On the topic of Gilmour..., One Slip

So you take off and you run to catch up with the sun but it sinking, racing around to come up behind you again, sun is the same in a relative way but you're older, shorter of breathe and one day closer to death.

babby's first floyd

youtube.com/watch?v=KBca3xf-j3o

That and Yet Another Movie

10 years got behind me, and I spent them getting trashed and listening to Pick Floyd.
Can't say I regret it though.

I gotta say, it was basically Rogers band, but everything with David is gold. i.e Poles Apart and the entire Momentary Lapse of Reason

Anyone have suggestions for modern prog rock bands of a similar style?

I haven't been into the rock scene for a decade at least, mostly deep house and progressive trance.

Found that style of electronic music is a somewhat modern incarnation of the instrumental pink floyd songs.

Without Gilmour, the Pink Floyd sound just isn't there.

He is an aberration of a guitar player.

Sad to lose, because his guitar skills and Waters writing skills were such a fantastic combination.

Tool

Your explanation can be heard in the song 'Give Blood' -Pete Townshend, where David is on guitar. I could recognize his sound in a song I never heard before.

very oldfag (53) here

PF were the soundtrack of my youth "at least someone on the planet understands me etc etc...)

All time heroes

Aged 26, ended up having lunch with Dave Gilmour

Typical bored, entitled, arrogant rock-star twat

mfw totally disillusioned

Still love themusic though

They are people, not surprised if they are all douchebags (i mean Waters and the rift with the band is enough to know they are).

Interesting that they and zeppelin were the sound of my youth, but I am 25 years younger. Never cared much for the contemporary music I guess.

Still, would have loved to have seen them live or have lunch with one of them.
