6 of the best 10 albums of the year have been made by afro-american musicians. Are they really the best musicians in the entire world?

why is her face so hard to look at?
it's just off putting for some reason.

t. white """person"""

Blacks have consistently made some of the best music in American history.

What's weird to me is how some journalists lately act like they need to go out of their way to give token awards like this to mediocre stuff, just because it's 'topical' in a way that goes with their politics.

It's not like there's ever a shortage of next-level black music happening.

like for real though. she's particularly unattractive, even for a black woman.

Anything blacks can make whites can do better

They're going to start encouraging a lot of shit music to be made if they keep that up.

But user, only one of the top ten was made by a black person!

I wonder if there will ever be a period in America's history where race politics will calm the fuck down and stop interfering with everything from art to porn

I just wish people would chill the fuck out and let each other be.

Except by that I mean that if blacks don't always like whites or vice versa, that's their business, and who cares.

Like, just shrug our shoulders and accept some people are racist and some aren't and NONE OF IT FUCKING MATTERS, just listen to the fucking music and let nature do what it's going to do.

It always has, and it always will. It just feels bigger because of both the Internet and white city cucks trying to make themselves seem compassionate when they really aren't, but really it's not any bigger than it was 10 years ago

>her

I think it'll get worse before it gets better.

literally all memepop/rap garbage
you have low standards when it comes to art

they´re not talented it´s just a political move to give them participation awards

they´re not saying this is good music, they´re saying please don´t call us racists coz that´d really hurt our business

tfw 20-30 years from now people our age are gonna look at p4k lists from the 10s and think this was the best the decade had to offer.

what's the actual best this decade has to offer?

Japanese indie idols

This. Pitchfork is/was a indie-rock based publication, nothing wrong with sticking with those genres. It feels more racist and hypocrital of their part to embrace the mediocre shite they do just because it's made by a black person than to not acclaim anything made by black people at all. Hell, centuries of black music tradition and they pander to mediocre pop r&b/rap?

Is this Sup Forums false flagging or someone trying to trigger Sup Forums? Either way it doesn't belong on this board.

>best 10 albums of the year
Still some of the worst music ever made in general

Because pop and rap are really popular music genres right now which means more exposure to their website. Do you even /business/?

/THREAD

Race has nothing to do with one's ability to create good music.

it's a pretty awful album cover

>tfw more annoyed by the outdated Instagram filter colour than the face itself

Niggers banging rocks and sticks together for food in Zambia doesn't count as music.

What is inherently wrong with that? If you didn't know it was an Instagram filter why would it matter

Just because pitchfork says so doesn't mean it's actually true. Here are some alternate lists for you:
albumoftheyear.org/list/612-norman-records-albums-of-the-year-2016/
albumoftheyear.org/list/630-the-quietus-albums-of-the-year-2016/
albumoftheyear.org/list/685-the-wires-best-releases-of-2016/
albumoftheyear.org/list/576-piccadilly-records-top-100-albums-of-2016/2
boomkat.com/charts/2016/306

I find it to be horribly overused and it doesn't appeal to my sensibilities. Nothing is inherently wrong with anything; your question is redundant.

Black people are responsible for the foundation, innovation and progression of the majority of popular music since the early 20th century, so I'm not sure why it's so shocking to see them in a top 10 list.

If P4K actually covered jazz (besides FlyLo and Kasami) then there would be a lot more black artists in their top 100 because to this day jazz still BTFO pop/""""indie"""" music.

and before classicalfags get triggered, note that I said POPULAR MUSIC, I'm not talking about art music (although I would argue that a lot of jazz could be considered art music)

This.

Rap/r&b is dominating the streaming charts, so it makes perfect sense for a millenial focused publication to focus on rap/r&b. Focusing on any other type of music would be a poor business decision for p4k. This isnt some grand conspiracy.

>Still giving a shit about p4k

Well there's your problem

user, you do realise we're on Sup Forums right?
