Why are so few British players trying their luck outside of the U.K.? Macca, Becks and now Bale did very well

Why are so few British players trying their luck outside of the U.K.? Macca, Becks and now Bale did very well

it's too hot

Then go to Germany

People usually like to play their football in familiar surroundings and where the money is. They have both those things in England. Therefore, there is little incentive for anyone from the UK to play abroad, unless you're so good (or wanted enough), you transcend the league itself and can get a chance to start for Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Macca was clutch as fuck for Madrid. Dude used to randomly come up with the goods in big games.

Because any English player whose actually decent just gets an immediate £30k a week contract and doesn't want to go to Spain where they'd earn probably less than half.

because they are shit

It's funny, British Premier League fans always bitch about foreign players not adapting but the vast majority of the British players never go abroad.

Foreign clubs dont want them because they are ridiculously overpriced, have a hard time adjusting to a new culture(if they do at all) and theyre just not all that good.

>tfw Macca scores another scissor kick

He was one of my favorite players back in the day

Britis players are usually very overpriced so foreign teams have no interest in them, because they can get a player of same quality for half the price and wages from elsewhere.

>British Premier League

What's that?

>always bitch about foreign players not adapting

Rarely happens.

Sounds like you should follow the sport you're discussing more, or just stop discussing it.

>be Brit
>shine and get lots of money

Why should they leave? Except Real Barça and Bayern there is not a single team more tempting than EPL giants.

>You now remember Jay Bothroyd

>Be young British talent
>Score 25 goals in first full season at home town club
>Move to China on $100m a year

That's the future la

this guy happened recently

Brittish players are overpriced.Just look how much City paid for Sterlel

>have the opportunity to sign for inter milan
>reject them to stay at norwich cause they offer more money

What's wrong with this double nigger?

I'm glad that happened, he would have flopped hard, now instead > we get based Candreva.

This and it would require them more work, and prove more against more competition.

So why bother?

...

>be brit
>wash out

it's not about money
nearly all of them are subhuman chavs who will never amount to anything
the question is, why do english clubs keep enabling them?

>flop hard at every club manure loaned him to
>flop hard at west ham
>somehow lazio show interest in him for god knows what reason
>never bothers to learn the language and acts like god's gift to the earth instead of actually concentrating on his football
>throws plenty of shit fits, gets fined multiple time all while threatening to leave the club

This paki bastard is a good example of why clubs would rather not take their chances with them english players.

...

...

...

...

GOAT talent t bh, shame he's genuinely retarded.

Genuinely one of the most talented players to ever come through Uniteds academy. Roasted everyone at u-18 level week in week out.

But he is literally retarded, cautioned for throwing bricks through windows, beating his girlfriend and being involved with gang members in manchester

Why would they ever leave the best league? You can only move down at that point.

there is more than one league in england you know
how come no foreign clubs want english players from the championship, league 1, ... ?

other leagues often dont pay as well as even english lower leagues, also

Joe Cole and Joey Barton went for a spell in Ligue 1 not so long ago. They seem to have enjoyed their time here, even though the level is not on par with the PL.
It's a shame they don't do it more often, it's a nice way to get some playing time when you're being benched constantly.

Pretty sure it's mostly because of money though.

Bingo. The Premier League extremely rarely, dips to the 3rd spot in terms of professional league rankings.

Language barrier is huge. Relatively few people in the Anglosphere are bilingual.

Championship is probably one of the most difficult and competitive leagues in the world. I'd go as far as saying it's worse than the Premier League. Money players get paid is still pretty high, more than top teams in too divisions, stadiums of 30k+ filled to the brim with incredible atmosphere. Why would you want to leave? Only place you'd want to go is the Premier League

British players are ridiculously overpriced. Just look at Sterling and Stones. No one in their right minds wants to fork over 50 million for unproven kids(except for Manchester City, obviously).

Barely any Englishman has played in the Bundesliga, now that you mention it.

This, especially the more average Championship players.

You'd much rather be playing for a shitty team that barely stays up each year like Huddersfield and visiting all those grounds with shitloads of people in them than moving to a European team on your level where'll you'll be playing in shitty stadiums with a few thousand people wathcing.

>dead one team league
Might aswell have said to join P$G. They should go to Italy

Everyone in a professional sports environment in Germany speaks a passable English.

>english wingers
lmao there's never been a single good one why would you sign one

young players get too much money so they stay at home. They also are almost incapable of learning foreign languages

>dead one team league
>They should go to Italy

AYY LMAO

British people are notoriously dumb, sheltered, narrow-minded and racist.

This stops them going abroad.

xD

Same with Russkies.
It really shows on holiday hotspots.

The Milan teams will rise again, fuck you

But if you're living in another country, you have to learn the language at least a little bit.

Jonathan Woodgate. 17mil from the Toon to Real Madrid only gets himself injured instantly and spends 15 month on the sidelines, so upon his triumphant return to the pitch to make his long awaited debut he only goes and scores an own goal then gets sent off.

Finland rekt, the chong eyed cunts

I feel like if more players went abroad, the English NT would do much better, and have a more diverse skillset of players to pull from

Every decent player to come from England recently has been le pace man or just plain garbage

In the past our NT managers have just completely ignored the few English players who do go abroad. We just forget they exist, even if they do well over there in foreignland. Small island mentality.

Based PAUL LAMBERT winning the UCL with Dortmund.
Based PAUL LAMBERT neutralizing Zidane

Scots don't count

A couple of World Cups ago, every player on the Italian team played in the Italian league. Italians are legendarily racist too.
>tfw you're absolutely right

because they are not good enough

McManaman had a good spell at Real Madrid, Woodgate could have been good but had shit luck. And to be honest, Owen was decent too, not at his Liverpool level, but you have to consider he had Ronaldo and Raul as competition in Spain.

Also Hargreaves at Bayern.

Why are Scotch so much better than their Bong counterparts when they basically come from the same place?

Because no one wants "British" players and by that I mean no one wants English players.
