How come mentally ill artists always produce the most interesting work?
How come mentally ill artists always produce the most interesting work?
What is this based on?
Sober, stable people are dull and produce dull things
My personal experience with music
I'm talking about specific examples. I don't know if James Ferraro is mentally ill or not but his music certainly sucks.
give 5 examples
as far as I know Ferraro is mentally sane and just does large amounts of cocaine
He's a schizoid. And I find his music infinitely interesting
OK ignoring James Ferraro what are your examples of "mentally ill artists ALWAYS produce the most interesting work" ?
...
This is starting to look like a really stupid thread on your party.
James Ferraro
Daniel Johnston
Beefheart
Lord Byron
Ezra Pound
Tolstoy
Plath
David Foster Wallace
the list goes on...
not an argument
He's offered nothing but valid responses to your demands honestly
Why woudnt they? Its pretty obvious
You must be REALLY stupid. Wow.
What?
No he hasn't. He's listed like 4 artists against thousands and thousands. This thread is stupid.
not valid criticisms due to
what do you mean?
I'm OP and I've listed several here
You literally asked what other artists besides JF and i showed you it.
Nice goal shifting after you got btfo
I'm sure some amount of truth gets communicated. Some mental tick which you respond to.
Of course there's probably 10x mentally ill artists you haven't heard who produce disturbed crap
>You literally asked what other artists besides JF and i showed you it.
Right because the burden of proof is on you that "mentally ill artists always produce the most interesting work"
You've done a shitty job so far.
I have a working theory. Getting into arts is a very risky decision finances-wise if you aren't born into money. Mentally ill people probably have a higher predisposition to make such leaps of faith?
Also, I think having more divergent thinking helps with art. The illness probably gives you an unique perspective on life
