How can a person do that bad getting a biology degree?

Chiropractic school

You have disgraced the white race. Think of all those that are not Caucasian that actually passed biology, you fucker. Leave this world now, we have no use for you.

dunno about US but in Aus people just do honours and then apply for med school if they did shit in undergrad.

nah m8
you just do Gamsat and if you do well + interview you'll be good

that said doing well isnt easy

should have gone CS... best choice i ever made. graduated with like a 2.7 and was making 60 grand out the gate

>3.0
I'm doing a fucking chemical engineering degree and my gpa is higher than that. How the fuck did you get a 3.0 in biology? Are you at MIT or something?

STOP FREAKING OUT

> 1. Lots of people in US do 1 - 2 years of research assistantship, be on a paper, do OK to well on MCAT and then get accepted into mid-tier MD program.
> 2. Lots of people do MS to boost their grades and show MD school that they are serious about learning. Usually they get a paper out as well.
> 3. DO school is a legit alternative assuming you just want to be a doctor and touch sick people - in the US, DO school MCAT cutoffs are lower than MD school cutoffs, even though DOs are licensed to perform (in US) all the things MDs perform.

european here, what's a bs?
> if you study biology but aren't good enough for med school you won't find a job
that's fucking stupid

Do foreign medical school. They let anyone in.

Become a Nurse Practitioner. They get to do almost everything a MD does (including prescribe), but don't have to deal with a lot of the bullshit and paperwork doctors do. And you could definitely get in with a 3.0.

Listen you Fucking twerp, you will accept my words as though their your own. Now go suck on a dick and be happy.

If you are not US, not entirely sure what to do although I expect your country probably also has gradient of quality of med schools

Be a nigger. A 3.0 will be top-tier. Thanks, affirmative action!

also why would you want to study medicine. If you do that, you probably end up as a doctor, you know that, right? Fuck being a doctor. I don't see why anyone would want that job. If you want money, go lawyer or finance.
If a bio degree was a requirement for a career in medicine and I had a bio degree, medicine would be about the last thing I'd consider doing.

Doctor is a very prestigious career that gets you laid. And some people just care and want to help.

>twerp
This is some next level autism right here. Look pal fuck on back over to r9k

no, seriously. 60k is basically entry-level.

gj spending all that money on a college degree for what is essentially minimum wage, pleb.

a piece of advice from a Technical Account Manager who never went to college, got the companies he worked for to pay for whatever certifications he wanted, and now makes $128k a year: Kill yourself.

Leave me alone, you menacing gay-homo-fag. Accept my words and be done with it see.

>not sure if b8 or newfag anymore

You need to check your system. All of your texts are green while everyone else is burgundy.

>admits to making only 60k
>jelly

Kek

Finance.. Go where the money is.

Spend more time on Sup Forums, obviously.

College is a scam anyway. Just work

If you go to college with a specific career in mind, then it is worth it- most people just go for the Hell of it, a massive waste of money

This

Technical college?

you're gonna work night shift in a micro-bio lab at some factory making $14/hr as a temp with no benefits

college is not a scam! you obviously are bitter....

should have gone CS... best choice i ever made. graduated with like a 2.7 and was making 60 grand out the gate

What about 61?

Not true. Get internships/apprenticeships, volunteer abroad in a medical program, take at least 1-2 years to do this, then apply to top 10 or 20 med schools in USA. If you don;t get in, apply to those few cheaper, decent schools like that one in the Caribbean. It's not Keck, UCSF, or UCLA, but you will learn to be a good doctor and you will get a fucking good job at a Kaiser Hospital somewhere in the west coast. I'm surprised how easily you gave up. All the pre-med/ med students I know are fucking titans. But then again, I go to one of the top schools int he country where everyone believes they are special snowflakes.

>3.0 gpa

you got into huge debt for this

No its not. It is a scam if you get a liberal arts degree, but if you go and get a competitve degree, you'll be happy you went.
Also there are so many fucking scholarships and grants there is no excuse for you to not get some kind of financial assistance.

Fap the pain away

I've got to second these guys, anyone who isn't going CS these days is literally out of their minds. You can be a self-taught nerd, nobody gives two shits about credentials if you can make it past the phone screen and a few rounds of technical interviews. If you're not a self-taught nerd it's so drippingly easy to pick up basic linux/unix skills and bag a gig making 75k with NO college debt. Your job will be to literally move peoples files around for them and kill off their applications when they do something stupid. Your job will also be to google anything you don't know on the spot and then fix problems. It's the dumbest racket ever.

There's an option I took which you so far haven't considered, go straight to a recruiting station. Tell them about your degree, ace the entry tests, and you'll likely have your pick of jobs. You'll gain skills like how to have a shred of self-confidence. Ideally they'll stick you in a bio weapons research facility, or at worse they'll give you some rudimentary technology experience that you can sashay into a high paying biotech job.

If you don't go pure tech, make sure that there is a 'tech' somewhere in your job description. Doctors are about to be heavily commoditized when things like Watson for diagnostics and programatically driven surgcial robots go mainstream. I look at people going into professional career programs like lawyers and doctors, racking up 200k of debt and expecting to make 200k/yr and I just shake my head. I'm pissing all over my lawyer friends income-wise, and unless you're becoming a transplant surgeon or an absurd specialist you will probably be under the anvil of debt forever. Debt you can't discharge in bankruptcy if you decide you fucking hate dealing with tumblr-enabled hypochondriacs and pill chasers for $65k a year.

get your masters and make sure you get a 4.0...reapply and you'll get in
>source...its what i did

you could also just go to a Caribbean med school

the best part is for my major courses like "java basics" and "getting started with Office" i didn't even have to leave the house - did it all online.

Sales rep for pharmaceuticals

B.S. in Biology here. Graduated at about 3.5. Currently an Ecology focused grad student.

>implying you accrue debt when your place is taken care of by Affirmative Action

tfw biomed with a 6.7 gpa, got a 61 on first gamsat attempt. 2nd year, so hoping to smash gamsat next year and get a high 60/low 70. assuming I get that and keep my gpa around 6.7-6.85, do I have good shot of med?

do not listen to this fucking retard, DO schools are a scam. Literally 98% of DO graduates never get into a residency program because medical institutions know that DO programs are not as rigorous and teach mostly hollistic bullshit.
