>tip at McDonalds

i tipped at burger king

what is there to tip?? you aren't waited, you just grab your food at the counter..

The tipping culture is such an awful practice, it makes the customer feel awkward. Just make the damn pizza 1€ more expensive and pay your employees like a normal company.

OP here. I genuinely don't understand tipping because we don't do it here, but I'm visiting America and trying to understand who I should/shouldn't tip.

I read that you tip taxi drivers in America. I'll be renting a car. Should I tip the man who gives me the car or the man who inspects the car (or both)? If I take a bus, do I tip the bus driver?

Tip. At McDonalds.

For fucking what, exactly?

"tipping" kek, what a cucked society

why tip at all ? they get paid, why pay them even more for a uneducated job?

You tip at a restaurant and Mcdonalds is a fast food restaurant.

You tip when the staff actually DOES something relative to your food experience.

The people at Mcshithole's don't bring me my food, clean up after me, or do anything other than make me terrible assembly-line food.

The "staff" at McDonald's literally contribute NOTHING to my enjoyment of the food. So.... no. No tipping.

Tipping for counterservice is fucking dumb.

Fuck your stupid ass tip jar. I'm keeping my change.

no

That doesn't make any sense. The cashier takes your order, processes it, performs the cash exchange, and then lets you know when your food is ready, and also prepares your soft drinks. They also clean tables, clean the floors, clean the bathrooms, and other duties.

That's quite a bit more than a waiter at a restaurant, who just takes your order then brings it to your table.

I mean, even at a restaurant, the cook does more than the waiter, yet you tip the waiter?

Sorry, but there's no logic to your tipping system. So I need you to just tell me who to tip.

Okay, so if I go to a grocery store, do I tip anyone there? What about a convenience store (or is it the same as restaurant/fast food place, where you tip at a grocery store but not at a convenience store)?

nah

troll elsewhere

>You tip when the staff actually DOES something relative to your food experience.
Also, I was told it wasn't just food, but also things like hair cuts and people carrying your luggage and taxi drivers and so on. I was even told some places have a bathroom attendant and you need to give them a tip.

I've worked fast food and doing counter is easy as fucking shit.
Tipping is stupid anywhere, anytime and I don't do it.
I pay a price for a service, just like everywhere else.
Get paid in shit tips? Find a job somewhere else. It's literally that easy.

haircuts, yeah throw them a couple bucks if they were cool. taxi drivers? no. if a guy carries your luggage up a bunch of stairs to your room in a hotel, yes tip him. bathroom attendants aren't reallllly a thing unless you're somewhere REALLY fancy. im not poor and ive only seen one once.

>stop everything i'm doing to go bake fresh cookies for this one person, no tip
>stand there and fill up a bunch of free waters for one person, no tip
>stop everything i'm doing, drop fresh fries, get burned serving them, no tip
>straight up give someone free shit, no tip

the only people who tip are people who work in the casino and respect lower class workers.
everyone else treats you like dog shit because you work at Mcdonalds.

...

you wont get tripped at mcdonalds get over it and get a real job

In thailand they have people giving you massage while you take a piss. True story

You dont need to tip anyone. Anyone who expects a tip is retarded. If someone gets mad at you for not tipping, kick them in the balls
"Protip. Get a real job."

you heard wrong lol

Tip at sit down restaurants where they take your order and bring food. Download Uber so you don't have to tip taxi drivers. That's pretty much it. In the end, ever if you don't tip every time, you will still be better than the niggers in this country who refuse to tip because of slavery or some shit like that

also some lady brought an iced tea back and said it was nasty once. i had to dump out both tea containers, 50 lbs each, then refill them, carrying both tea containers from the walk in refrig, 60 lbs each. no tip.

if you don't feel you should tip for hard labor, then nothing will convince you to tip. if you want college students to be underpaid, then that's on you and your children.

i already said in the post i get tipped. at least i can read, lol.

you didn't have to do that, all you had to do was give her another one. she wouldnt have known.

mcdonalds does not allow workers to accept tips so nice lie

But I want to take a piss while Im taking a piss.... alone.. like I've been doing since I was like, 3

>get food fast/give no tip
>wait for food/give big tip

You Americans have a weird system. I tip of I want to, not if it's "part of the culture".

What about at the hospital? If I get sick, do I tip the doctor or the nurse (or both)?

Or does your country's health care pay for the tip as well?

In my country, tipping would be considered rude. Feels like they're a beggar.

nobody forces you to do it retard

>tip
>mcdonalds

Oh look it's another episode of some Europoor not understanding how tipping works, and being too fucking retarded to just Google it.

This thread is surely going to be good
10/10

The only fast food I tip at would be Sonic drive in.
and that's only because they bring the food to the vehicle, and if she is hot.

Fugly = no tip.

In my country you don't have to, but if you want to give more money it's accepted and shared with the rest of the staff.

Niggas saying get a real job tfw the only servers left at blm activists and they piss all over your salad and call it dressing.
Point is tipping is a way to pay people who make less than minimum wage. It really should only apply to waiters and people that cut hair, maybe a bell boy too, but thats it. If you have any questions about the logic/stupidity of it all go watch adam conover in adam ruins everything on youtube. His video on tipping is all you need to know.

It's considered mandatory anyways, just for waiters though, because no reason. Absolute ultrakek.
This

Only our elegant hats. You must be a gentleman no matter where you are.

>People that cut hair
>make less than minimum wage

Are they being pimped out? How the fuck do they make less than minimum wage?

I'm not European.

I could Google it but I thought it'd make for interesting discussion, having seen tipping threads before on this site.

Even though you got everything wrong, I appreciate the 10 out of 10 rating you granted me and encouragement. I will keep your words in my heart for years to come.

Yours in Christ,
OP

No fucking way. Doctors and nurses are paid way more than median salaries in the US.

Because of some stupid stuff explained in the video i mentioned. go look it up.

.

But fast food employees aren't paid a lot (read about it in an article about raising their pay) yet you don't tip them.

If you're an American and reading this, please tip next time you hamburger at Mcdonalds or other such places. Just try. Because maybe you are doing it wrong.

>Work at Mcdonalads in "Canada"
Can confirm. Tips are not allowed, but I did get some when I worked counter and drive thru a few times. Got 20$ once...

if i rape the waitress and just use the tip, is that tipping?

I only tip when i know it buys me karma for the next time ill be there, call me a protipper..

If you feel like someone has gone above and beyond, tip them.
The idea is to reward people who do more than the minimum in order to make your day better so that the people who are good at the shit job stay.

>Tipping at any fastfood place

>I used the cuck word, they'll never know I'm new this way!!

yeah you have to what are you some kind of poorfag scumbag? only faggots dont tip how do they expect a server to make their living, from a wage? lol gtfo cheapfags

No, just no. In the US, tipping is not that at all. Yes, maybe in a perfect world, that is what tipping should be, but in America, because of bs rules and laws and loopholes, tipping is the way waiters make a living.

Id be more worried about when to clap tbqh fam

why the fuck would you give a tip at mcdonalds, it's overpriced garbage, and within an hour you are already hungry again. not even worth $0.001 dollar tip

Glad people don't rely on tips in my country, as it should be.

basically you pretend you're in a cheap Jew sitcom and you clap at everything you'd normally hear a laugh/appaluse track over.

> a perfect world

You mean like every country in Europe?

poorfag 3rd world monkey here in Civilized America we tip our fellow human beings no matter what

>be dutch tourist
>don't tip ever
>why you no tip?
>part of my culture
>mfw

no you fucking retard

>Americans

basically

stay away from america is best tbh

Literally never, no.

I've worked in a restaurant and can confirm that your post is bullshit.
Waiters literally do all of those things.
>I mean, even at a restaurant, the cook does more than the waiter, yet you tip the waiter?
The tip doesn't just go to the waiter. It's divided between certain workers, including the cooks.

Last time I checked, in Wyoming, the minimum wage for waiters is less than $3.00. Minimum wage is sometimes lower for waiters. This is why we tip here.

>american consider tipping waiters mandatory because of the shitty wages
>doesnt realize employer is required by law to pay at least minimum wage if tips dont cover it
>get buttblasted and rage when people dont tip

Why would I give my money to others for free?

Yeah, I got a tip for you. Get a better job. Faggot.

BECAUSE THATS WHAT NON CHEAPFAGS DO HOW POOR ARE YOU THAT YOU CANT ARROGANTLY TOSS YOUR MONEY AROUND TO MAKE YOURSELF FEEL IMPORTANT AND GENEROUS

Then those waiters need to be doing a better job.

so all that vitriol against non-tippers fly out the window whenever it suits you?

>tip anywhere

Basically.

I don't tip anyone but valets, my Barber, and waiters at sit-down restaurants. I had some little niglet working at sonics try to tell me they accept tips, I told her to go to college and get a better fuckin job before throwing my trash out of the window on my way out of the parking lot. When I was a teenager, McDonald's was a place your parents made you get a job during the summer when they got tired to seeing your lazy ass sitting around the house all day. It's an hourly job paying minimum wage that doesn't require any initiative or ambition to succeed at. I will not tip some welfare cunt who can't find a better job to feed herself and her little niglets. They don't deserve the $8 an hour they're paid because they never seem adept enough at their job not to fuck my order up every fucking time and they have a monitor telling them exactly what to put in the bag. Fuck em.

Off topic, why do niggers seem to take the longest at the drive-thru?

> I'm visiting America and trying to understand who I should/shouldn't tip.
The general rule is that someone who leaves their station to provide you a good or service while you wait in comfort should be tipped. This includes delivery drivers and waitstaff at some restaurants, but not if you are served at the counter and claim your order yourself.
> Should I tip the man who gives me the car or the man who inspects the car (or both)?
No.
> If I take a bus, do I tip the bus driver?
If the driver assists with your luggage, you tip him for that assistance. If the bus has no fare, tip the driver. If the bus does has a fare, no tip for driving.

> Last time I checked, in Wyoming, the minimum wage for waiters is less than $3.00. Minimum wage is sometimes lower for waiters. This is why we tip here.
Your causality is reversed. You are tipped and that is why your minimum wage is lower. If you are ever not tipped sufficiently such that the tips put you above minimum wage, the boss has to pay you to make up for it.

>Implying waiters don't process orders, exchange cash, make drinks, or clean tables.

You tip a person who spends time providing personal service for doing a good job.

Waitresses for being quick and accurate, cabbies for getting you to your location in the correct time or faster (Google maps that shit)

Valet drivers for not fucking your car up.

Basically tips are bribes for special attention, and most jobs don't get tips.

Reservoir dogs/10

Tipping is overrated. I don't see why we don't just get rid of the practice. American small business owners are some of the most pretentious primadonas I've ever seen. They don't pay their waitstaff enough to support themselves without the patrons having not only to pay for the meal, but also pay the poor bastard serving them. And some of these restaurants have the nerve to not let people with kids dine at lunchtime. Honestly the only reason they do it that way is to avoid paying them any benefits because it's sooo "hard" to run a business. In my lifetime, I've only ever had service good enough to warrant a tip at restaurants that don't accept them. Notice how we never tip people who do important shit like patrol our neighborhoods, teach our kids, and fight fires and shit. But some hippie cunt gets a tip for bringing food to my table. Smfh

>Off topic, why do niggers seem to take the longest at the drive-thru?
Because they order all the chicken

Frenchfag here, can confirm, tipping is a bad idea.
Best case scenario, guy/girl will laugh and explain that it's not the USA, that you don't have to do it. And give your change back.

Worst case you will get punked because "you think I'm a bum you stupid amerifat GTFO my business, foutu pédé de ricain, casse toi pauv' con"

And they have to count all their pennies they has. Niggers can't count well

Havent read thread but what? People tip at McDicks? Or even any fast food joint? What the fuck is going on. A tip at McDonalds is tossing your change into the Charity Box that some hobo probably steals within the week.

Not they aren't. Waiters do not make minimum wage in most states.

Is it true that americans clap in theaters?

Didier Super?

I've been to quite a few movie theaters before and I've only seen people clap at the end of a movie maybe two or three times. Usually everyone walks out right when the credits come on.

Proof?

Do you know how complicated that is to do.
A small business has a much much harder time staying a float than a corporate business.

If it was a Major release like lets say Star Wars, LOTR etc Yeah that's literally the only time ive heard major claps from movies. Otherwise it's someone drunk or me getting kicked out for bringing booze into the theatre.

Hey Eurofag, we also don't have to pay to use the bathroom... WTF is that shit?

>theaters
>movies
I don't but it happens.

I've only seen it happen once. Finished watching a movie and some derp got moved by a non live performance and starts clapping. a few others awkwardly joined in but it soon died after that.

What's may more common is the hecklers that talk to the movie. "SAW THAT COMING. OH SHIT. FAKE AS FUCK" ect.

>so all that vitriol against non-tippers fly out the window whenever it suits you?

No, not even close.

In America is is customary to tip a waiter/waitress because they make less than minimum wage. It is a special job that is exempt from normal minimum wage jobs. They literally depend on tips for their salary.

People at mcdonalds are already making about 3X what a waiter/waitress makes before tips.

Yeah if I think about it here. (not yet but I think soon) min wage is 15$, I believe waitresses still have less though cause of the tip system, I really don't know. Still Pretty sad when someones gotta be a customer service machine and try to please people all day (without tips) gets paid less than the fucker who puts processed cheese on my chicken snack wrap and doesnt give me ketchup when I ask.

Again I just hang out at the bar. When wage increase happens here I don't know what happens to them.

Tipping is weird I used to be a service writer for an automotive place, people used to always try to tip me, I'd tell them thank you but we don't accept tips then they'd just shove it in my pocket. That's kinda more embarrassing tbh

I work at a Mexican American restaurant as a cook. It's usually 3 of us per shift. In the 8-10 hours I work we (mostly a other cook and I) will make 3k worth of Food. We also have to constantly prep for other food, wash dishes and deal with rowdy customers, mostly around 12pm to 2am in the weekends.
I earn 11:50 an hour. With the tips at the end of every day that bumps my pay to close to 13.
People only really tip when they see it as super busy and only two cooks are pounding out hot delicious food. Some ppl even have special requests like layer my nachos this certain way or cook this before this then mix together. Makes me feel good knowing that we made good food from scratch that people enjoy enough to tip.
