Many people never hear about something because they get their news from pop culture outlets which won't report anything bad about anyone left of center.
Other people who do hear about something think "right wing bullshit, not reading"
Still other people who do hear about something think "right wing propaganda, better bury this story by downvoting or saging it"
Not to mention many people are busy with work/school/sex/weed and just can't make time for questioning their own beliefs or critical thinking
