...
I seriously challenge you to name a more innovative hip-hop album
exmilitary tbqh famalam
...
it's just both blackie and dalek rip off
check out spred luv lp and dalek's absence (which sounded like beware before death grips existed)
not that I think Danny Brown is innovative, but I hope it's bait
Rtj3
This. Culture Shock alone is more innovative and relevant than anything Danny Brown has ever done.
>blackie and dalek
Fuck off with that horrible backpacker shit.
>to pleb to get into dalek
death grips is basically pop music
>death grips
>innovative
is this a meme like with danny brown or you're really that deluded?
MOM IT'S MUH CHALLENGING AND EXPERIMENTAL
Charles Hamilton - At Most I'm Just
>36 chambers
>death grips
>not prime backpacker-core
The Beatnigs - The Beatnigs
...
one word
Tedy Andreas
...
As for the 2010s, Yeezus, Acid Rap, Atrocity Exhibition, and MBDTF are probably the most "innovative"
Not that any of them are really innovative
I liked it but come on. It's literally the opposite of innovative. It pretty much just improves upon what they did on RTJ1 and RTJ2
>regurgitated post-punk samples
>muddy mixing
>repetitive flows
>themes which are exactly the same as every other release he's put out
It's a good album, and there isn't really any other rapper spitting over beats that would make John Peel cream himself, but strip away all the edge and "experimentalism" and its basically no different to anything he's done before
>mediocre, mainstream albums are innovative but not really
are you retarded or something? either stand by your stupid opinions or don't express them at all
Provide a counter example that isn't DG.
>B L A C K I E
>backpacker
confirmed underage
Innovative doesn't equals good.
...
This is actually a good album
>when you realize he isn't standing in a corner
Holy shit i just noticed that
...
literally anything clipping or meme grips has made
...
>inb4 Tedy Andreas
not even hip-hop senpai
I knew someone would point that out :^)
...
Uhh, he's black. Of course it's hip-hop
also fantano said so ;)
...
was debating whether to post this or nasa gang
please find me another hip hop album that sounds like this
Not even the most innovative hip-hop album of September 2016
That would be Splendor & Misery, though there are many hip-hop albums more innovative than it.
yes
This
This and clouddead are the only rap albums I can't understand
...
Well Clouddead is about random instrumentals and using your voice to match the instrumental and words that don't make sense, but sound good with the instrumental backing as well as the flow they decide to go with.
The Ziggurat is a big concept album, where you're supposed to rearrange the tracks to tell a complete story the way you want it to be told. First disc is the actual album, second disc is random tracks that you place wherever you want to tell the story. Musically, it switches styles based on which character is being portrayed. In the case of Metatron One, it's more sparse and heavy hitting. For someone like Random Boy, it's more mechanical and futuristic. Rick Flare has more energy.
Different than Old especially, more similar to XXX but they're not really that alike. Not that it's super innovative but it sounds fresh and there aren't that many rappers using these kinds of samples. He's also a skilled rapper who flows over hard beats to rap to.
>innovation in hiphop
>not a single mention of Kool Keith.
Faggots.
he was an innovative rapper
Maxnormal kind of but you've probably already heard it. The Ziggurat is GOAT though
the absolute GOAT
This and Circle are the combined GOAT.
OP you really can't name one
cLOUDDEAD makes more sense if you listen to ALL of their other music.
It's basically struggle rap, but specifically for artists.
Is Circle not avaliable online or am I just missing all the working torrents
A lot of their old catalogue (Greenthink, Object Beings) is no longer available from official sources.
Try soulseek.
I might just end up buying it off discogs
That's a good idea. I don't own nearly enough physical mush/anticon stuff.
I especially would like a copy of Object Beings.
True that. Amazing combination of post-punk and hip hop. The melding of different worlds is...otherworldly here.
Nah, Blackie, Dalek, Techno Animal did it first.
He's Serbian, that's it. Not actual innovation.
Lmao no.
Nah, sample work like this has been there since the dub days.
Nah, just cashing in on 80s trends.
Dalek/Faust for people too bitch boy for real experimentation.
>Tedy Andreas
Two words: gimmick garbage
It's nowhere near as innovative as people think it is. Lib just coping Dilla's style.
>Yeezus
Blackie, Dalek, etc. did it first
>Acid Rap
Far from first guy to do lazy flow
>MBDTF
De La Soul did maximal production first
>memphis for bitch boys that can't handle real shit
Structures/cliches on this album are pretty standard, there's just some spooky samples here and there.
>do sound more common outside of hip hop in hip hop
>all of a sudden its unique and one of a kind
Bullshit.
It's grime, nigga get out of here.
LUM beat him to it by a year.
Like everything else to come out of the African and European scene? All goofy sounding trash.
Not really hip hop, and the bass scene has existed for decades before this came out.
>muh "look at me playing a whacky character!"
>innovative
Hahahahahahaha
>cLOUDDEAD
>common sounding in any way
dude wut
Unrelated to OP's statement but that album clicked with me and holy fuck, I love it.
>Dalek/Faust for people too bitch boy for real experimentation?
NotM is nothing like Dalek/Faust you fucking retard. They have literally nothing in common
The Beatnigs does not sound like a trendy 80's album at all lol
Paul's Boutique
>Structures/cliches on this album are pretty standard, there's just some spooky samples here and there.
Nigga on demon he raps a 6/8 signature how is that cliche?
IN THE MEADOW WE CAN BUILD A SNOWMAN
AND PRETEND THAT HE IS DANNY BROWN
6/8 is still symmetrical.
Try that one Subtle song with the 7/8 bit.
nice meta meme :) merry christ
my post is random xD
