>Hip-Hop/Rap

Hey I really loved this, it's exactly the kind of thing I liked and strive to make myself.

dave-roland.bandcamp.com/album/the-original-music-to-the-last-ride

>ambient, synthpop

I've decided to delay anything new until early next year due to Christmas but things are coming along nicely.

godofmetal.bandcamp.com/album/christmas-in-yellow-sky-city

>electronic baroque pop

i listened to altered states and you've got the melodic aspect of it down perfectly, and the drums sound very good too. i like how it's reverb heavy but in a clean way.

expandingsponge.bandcamp.com/music

>its shit i hope you're happy

citationneeded.bandcamp.com/album/songs-that-dont-exist

>Future saxophone music

Did you used to be Suburban Coconuts?

Same people in the thread, same people I recommend. I want to listen to new stuff, but most are just tasteless, uninspired, mediocre albums. And the worst thing is that no matter how hard I try I can't quit this mediocrity myself that's usual in these BC threads. How to talent?

Anyways:
Currently listening, I don't know what to say

varsas.bandcamp.com/
>noise music
>music with noise
>sometimes music without noise
>homemade experiments by a hack who's not 19 yet, but already ran out of musical ideas.

might be mediocre but just because you're "uninspired" doesn't mean everyone else is

It's not easy making new music when you're depressed and hate everything you make. I've been dragging my feet on my new album for months, I haven't even finished one full song yet.

texh.bandcamp.com/

>cut-up electronics

pretty drunk so gonna listen to some stuff

>varsas.bandcamp.com/
fucking awful

fukc those midi sounds

holy shit, shit's bad dawg

u can check me here

windowlistener.bandcamp.com

>experimental electronic, inspired by Xenakis, Autechre, etc
>metaphysical and dystopian themes

will release a single today maybe

Same. I was listening to Bohren & der Club of Gore in the past hours and I feel devastated, paired with the feeling I'll never be able to make something like that.

I'm a bit upset because I had the musical idea and all, I was really enthusiastic about my new album, but when 3-4 songs were ready, they just didn't go well together. I don't have a direction where to continue. Everyone says noise and ambient is easy as fuck and many make it because it requires no talent but I have a hard time making it sound actually good.

Happy Holidays everybody.

That was great broe, cheers

I hope you made these beats, pretty good.

I suggest you to make the instruments a bit louder, so it will hit harder, and use less reverb, so the rapping won't be that obscured.
Dynamics are the key

Never heard of them.

>New Release

>Good Boy
>A Mouth Full
>Los Angeles, California, Bedroom, Folk, Indie, Pop.

Description:

The title of Good Boy's new album, A Mouth Full, is quite prophetic of what it has to offer. Dizzying, disorienting synthesizers and vocoders, dwindling guitars, and colorful, terse bursts of energy, composed and comprised aside George's soft spoken, illusory-filled lyricism. Quite the mouthful indeed.

Support, scrobble, or review on RYM. Any feedback of any kind would be greatly appreciated. And George give some love. Thank You. :)

recs:

Holy fuck man. This is a record I'd happily hold in my hands in a physical format. The album cover is simple, but perfect, and the music is chaotic and colourful.

Going to listen, also copped a download

>kinda ripping off glenn branca's ideas of applying guitars to classical music

Where do you find these sketches?

why did you even bother replying to me? like i don't mean to start shit, but if the only reply i get is attached to a rant that says "I want to listen to new stuff, but most are just tasteless, uninspired, mediocre albums" and then "idk what to say about this" then yeah that's not good. you don't have to like what i do, but you don't have to be so negative about it. i gave your stuff a shot in an earlier thread and i thought it was pretty good, so there you go.

this is me, and again feel free to think i suck

THE JEL EP IS OUT RITE NOW!
COME ON! LISTEN 2 IT!

>MY SUPER AWESUM EP!
pedicurerecords.bandcamp.com/album/pd042-ep

>idk what to say about this
Sorry if I came off as a douche, I said "idk" because I haven't finished your album yet. I wanted to separate my rant from those "recs" I gave afterwards.

It was not bad, but didn't leave that much of an impression in me either. Mainly because of the imagery. The way it's presented with these titles and album covers is just so "Bandcampish", it tells me nothing and makes me want to switch to another tab while listening, even if the tracks have a great mood and would make a great soundtrack. Take as an example to follow.

evenoxen.bandcamp.com

>indie/experimental folk
>fuzz rock
>noise pop
>power electronics

Been waiting for this for a while now, thanks for finally upping!

Love you guys. Your records made 2016 a very memorable year for me and plenty of others i'm sure. Hoping to see others like Baddest Beams and Joplin Rice post today

scrugley.bandcamp.com/

>dsbm
>piano

yay, you're back, Merry Christmas my man

I would change these labels to
>indie/fuzz folk
>rhythmic noise
>psychedelic folk

I don't think it's pop or rock, definitely not power electronics, it sounds more natural, personal than those.

I finished it and I would say it's a really good record, but the bass sometimes ruined it.

these sketches are "studies" that painters do as practice for their paintings. you can find some museums online that will sometimes upload tons of sketches from the collections they bought, they're all public domain too (if the painters been dead for quite a while) which is perfect for using as album art.

to find them, try searching for less popular painters or dig through some art museum's website.

love you dad

will listen when i get home

>The way it's presented with these titles and album covers is just so "Bandcampish"

lol you make dark ambient noise and put text on paintings, that's the most bandcampish thing in the world. also the way you switched your attitude from self defeating "i just wanna be talented!" to some kind of artistic voice of reason and arbiter of good taste is priceless.

rec
dave get back on facebook you fuck i havent seen you since autumn last year
also rec this guy he makes good tunes
also rec i like this dude and his music

I'm giving you constructive criticism here, don't be mad about it. Keep in mind what Woody Allen said: "Those who can't do, teach." I'm the latter.
As long as I give someone feedback, I'm not a Bandcamp "musician", just a regular guy, a casual listener who states his experiences. What I stated is the stuff you were making was not aesthetically pleasing. Just because my records are tasteless doesn't mean I don't have the right to tell you to improve.
Again, sorry if I come off as an asshole.

okay, thank you for your criticism!

"Fast cars are my only vice." - Michael Bay

I just put down what RYM says, with the excpetion of fuzz rock

Question of the thread:

Have you considered stopping?
Were there moments in your life when you realised you ran out of ideas or just got harsh criticism that hit you hard?

I defend against criticism by making music that's so experimental that I can defend it by saying to myself that no one gets it

i should probably stop but i probably won't. i've deleted my uploads a few times before, but realize i'm too addicted to quit.
it's mostly been realizing that i don't care about the music i'm writing, i just put parts in and sometimes write most of the song without even listening to it once. i've been out ideas for so long, i've been ripping something off in every song i've ever done. also used to get told my music would sound better with "real instruments" and it pissed me off that it was the only thing said by a good portion of people who listened to my music.

kek
You're going to be like Merzbow. He said he "doesn't care what others think" of his music. I don't think he takes much pride anymore in what he's making. He never listens to noise apart from his own.

vermiss.bandcamp.com/album/destroyer
>Atmospheric Beats

>Have you considered stopping?
yes.

>Were there moments in your life when you realised you ran out of ideas or just got harsh criticism that hit you hard?
i run out of ideas all the time, i just gotta wait like a week or two and then i think up of something and try it. never had any criticism that really got to me except really vague ones that don't explain what they didn't like or say what i could do better.

haha

If only i had a computer to work with
can't even record at the moment since i've been without one for a while

Would have actually liked to release a Christmas EP but there's always next year i guess

Not even a phone?

I do have that, but with no interface i wouldn't know how to go about it
i'm content with this though, it's never a bad thing to just let your work circulate while you work on getting better

Just start a video and record it with your phone's mic or something. The 2 Fleet Foxes covers I sent you were both just phone recordings too.

Any plans on incorporating that choir with an actual song of yours?

I'm just a student there, they are not my personal band.

>slip into choir class
>record sessions with phone
>splice up samples with pitch effects to fit into songs
seems like something the gub would do, ngl
