It was never about how good they were, if you see this move being pulled its a sign that the movie will not be very good, because theyre thinking in terms of marketting and not the actual movie when casting.

Exactly what happened. Maybe it wouldve been less stupid if it was an actor that actually had some kind of flair in the role and had charisma as a larger than life character, this was one of the most pivotal characters in the entirety of Doctor Who to date and she just kind of stands upright saying lines, seriously, if you can find her episodes watch how stiff she is, its fucking bizarre.
