What are some bands that have never released a bad album? Before you post, be sure to remind yourself that because an album is bad compared to other works by the same band doesn't mean it's bad.

the beatles
led zeppelin

Modest Mouse IMHO. Strangers to Ourselves still had great songs on it despite its inferiority to their past works.

/board/

what about very significant member changes?

what.

>Bands that have never realesead a bad album?
/board/

ok thats just repeating it and explaining literally nothing

If they still use the same name, they are the same band

dude thats fucked

pinkshinyultrablast
mr bungle

The fuck are you on about? Many bands lose very significant band members, and even their later works I'd still consider them the same band. Just because a few people leave doesn't make it a new band.

ok I dont see how that is referencing it in the slightest but at least you're explaining it a little

still not really offering anything of significance but still

all of these posts have been completely unnecessary when a simple title wouldve sufficed

I really think pixies qualify too but I'll let it slide

Good choice OP. I agree, Alice in Chains (and Jerry's solo albums + I guess you could say Mad Season too) are all excellent, minimum 8/10+. Probably the most consistent band ever.

Aside from that
>The Smiths
>Led Zeppelin
>Dire Straits
>Tool
>Queens of the Stone Age
>Mastodon
>ISIS
>Jimi Hendrix/Experience

Death Grips

Blood Mountain was the last good Mastodon album

>being this contrarian

Crack The Skye and Once More 'Round The Sun are both better than Blood Mountain

Crack the Skye is exactly when they became irredeemable

You have objectively shit taste

I'm not the one who prefers late period Mastodon, so the experts agree that is in fact YOU have shit taste

Dirt and Jar of Flies are their only good albums.

4 u

>the experts agree
seems they don't friendo :^)

...

good meme my man :))

>implying those are the experts
>seeking validation for your shit taste

just kys senpai it's for the greater good desu

You think Crack the Skye is shit. Your taste is so bad shit tastes good to you.

I don't even think it's their best album but it's easily better than Blood Mountain. Blood Mountain is pretty unremarkable outside of the first four songs.

As if Crack the Skye even has a good song and their discography just gets worse after that garbage. If my taste is shit then your taste is the third human in the centipede being forcefed redigested shit, faggot.

Really love Alice in Chains but The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here is really just... not good.

the whole album is great from start to finish with the last song being the best

are you here from /metal/? that would explain this contrarianism

>The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here is really just... not good.

wrong

Queens of the Stone Age. Era Vulgaris was arguably their worst work, and it was still amazing. Not a single bad album.

Different fag. Crack The Skye is their best album. From start to finish it's a fucking masterpiece. Get the fuck out of here with your shit ass opinion.

I've really tried to enjoy it but it's so monotone. Honorable mention is Stone tho. Love it.

Imagine someone actually having this opinion, sad

These motherfuckers.

Even though BGTWB is more concise and feels more structured, TDPDH still has a lot of really good songs on it.

I think the track order is the main problem. It just kind of sits there the whole time instead of being more dynamic in the track order. Probably why you find it 'monotone'. It's almost like the track order was just done totally at random. First time Jerry dropped the ball on something in his career desu.

Try it with this track order:
1. Stone
2. Phantom Limb
3. Voices
4. The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here
5. Low Ceiling
6. Scalpel
7. Pretty Done
8. Lab Monkey
9. Choke
10. Breath on a Window
11. Hollow
12. Hung on a Hook

hung on a hook and pretty done were the only tracks i really remember

try it again with that order

ill try f4m

still think BGWTB is better but then again i havent really listened to them since their last album came out

I'd say Alkaloid (prog death band) but I don't think that would really count since they only have one album
So instead I'll say Death

not that user BGWTB is better by a considerable margin however TDPDH is by no means a bad album

Stallaggh kappa

Iggy and The Stooges
The Ramones
Sex Pistols
AC/DC
The Beatles
Cream
Jimi Hendrix (Either with The Experience Band of Gypsies or posthumous releases)
Janis Joplin (ANY JJ)
Husker Du
Minutemen
Suicide Commandos
Black Flag

Joy Division

>AC/DC

Most of the Brian Johnson albums besides the first two aren't very good at all

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.

The Doors!

Oh man, I love Full Circle by The Doors!

>Actually thinking Facelift is a legitimately good album and not just a platform for Man in a Box

I never realized retardation was a choice.

...

>We Die Young
>Man In The Box
>Sea of Sorrow
>Bleed The Freak
>Love, Hate, Love
>It Ain't Like That
>Sunshine
>Put You Down
>Confusion

The Soft Parade and Other Voices are stellar, too.

I'd say
The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Sublime
Rhcp (at least I like em all, some people may not like the early funk albums or OHM, but I think they're good)
Billy Talent
Nirvana
Op ivy

Family man, so not black flag

QOTSA.

yeah but Full Circle by The Doors is their best album...

They've been steadily going downhill, but even The Hunter is enjoyable. It's just tepid compared to Leviathan and Remission.

If QotSA have never released a bad album, then neither has Kyuss.

wretch isn't very good.

It's unrefined but the energy and quality riffs make up for it

nah the whole album is pretty bad besides HWY 74 and The Law. HWY 74 is the only real solid track on the album.

Hang yourself

Deftones

Gore was shit

Peter Gabriel
King Crimson
Paul Simon
David Byrne

It was better than the previous one

...

True that senpai

Bleed the Freak and Love, Hate, Love are great tracks. Not a bad album at all.
