For those that listen to hip hop music, are there actually any good hip hop artists that have started up after 2012?

Nope, 2012 was the last year for REAL hip hop

Unkle Adams

I knew I was missing someone. D.R.A.M is good. Cash Machine is GOAT

Yes, Cash Machine by D.R.A.M. is truly the greatest of all time. Correct.

reddit general

Have you heard the song? It's pure concentrated happiness.

Yes, its happiness is what makes it the greatest song in the history of music. GOAT indeed.

I'm glad we agree

Anderson Paak and Knxwledge.

Sean Leon

That song is good but I wasn't impressed by most of the rest of the album

>Quality Trap:
Chief Keef - Back From the Dead & Finally Rich, you can ignore anything else except for Bang 3 which has some redeemable tracks
Young Thug - Discography Starting at Barter 6 is impeccable
Travis Scott - Days Before Rodeo and Rodeo are a must
21 Savage - Savage Mode
Lil Uzi Vert - LUV is Rage & Lil Uzi Vert Vs. The World, last few tapes of his however have been trash.
Kodak Black - Institution and Lil B.I.G. Pac if you liked institution if not don't listen to it.
ASAP Ferg - Traplord
Lil Yachty - Lil Boat

>Middle of the Road and Commercial Rappers
Kanye - TLOP was okay and yeezus was trash, look to his older discography for undisputed quality

YG - Still Brazy, very unique sound, modernized west coast rap.
Chance the Rapper - Acid Rap
Mac Miller - Faces

Freddie Gibbs - Pinata
J. Cole - 2014 Forest Hills Drive

>Special but good snowflakes
Kendrick Lamar - Entire discography above par

Vince Staples - Shyne Coldchain 1 & 2 very underrated, personally didn't like Summertime '06 but was recieved well, Prima Donna EP very good
Earl Sweatshirt - Doris & I Don't Like Shit I Don't Go Outside very good (Earl tape is also considered good if you followed the OF hype)
Denzel Curry - Imperial
ASAP Rocky - LiveLoveA$AP (Went from groundbreaking cloudrap to commercial rap and squandered a good chance at being something exceptional)
Lil Ugly Mane - Mista Thug Isolation

>Honorable Mentions & Misc.

>i listen to white people who try to be black instead

>no one mentions RtJ

Fuck it, Run the Jewels

Your taste in trap is garbage except for A$AP Ferg and maybe Young Thug.
I'd put ScHoolboy Q, Gucci Mane, Lil Herb, and Denzel Curry in that category.

Neither El-P or Killer Mike started up after 2012 user.

True, but I would say that their collaborative effort is good enough to be held separately from their own albums.

type of nigga to say he listens to "real hip hop"

Kendrick Lamar has been around since before 2012, but he wasn't hugely popular before good kid, m.A.A.d city in 2013. It's one of the best rap alums of the past ten years, if I'm being honest. And he followed it up wit To Pimp a Butterfly in 2015, which is one of my favorite albums ever, and a lot of critics gave it 10/10, 100%, five stars, ect. I terms of pure quality, Kendrick Lamar is the best rapper currently. I guess I'm kind of a stan, but it's not like he's my favorite. I'm just being honest in that even if there's rappers who I personally like better, nobody can touch Kendrick. I'll warn you though, his music tends to be politically charged so if you don't agree with his views I can see how it could change your listening experience and appreciation for the lyrics.

Not saying I disagree but they still have more than a decade of experience under their belt.
It's just not what OP is looking for.

If you'd put Denzel and Schoolboy in trap then you're fucking retarded

/thread

/faggot

YG is good af. Dude is gonna be this decades hottest rapper. His first two albums have all been top-tier.

no

'taste'

>Middle of the Road and Commercial Rappers
>Freddie Gibbs - Pinata

I'll give you Denzel since he's more memphis rap, just didn't consider him a "special snowflake".

>21

lel

I cant believe no one has mentioned isaiah rashad, underrated and better than most artists out right now

this actually makes no sense

half of these artists started up before 2012

Only if you count mixtapes

Albums after 2012, or artists that started after 2012?

Why wouldn't you count mixtapes, are you stupid?

Lets reverse that question. How the fuck is schoolboy trap?

Are there black people who actually browse Sup Forums and is this where they go?
