Java tends to be an important skill in the programming world for enterprise-level development. Given that you can develop on Windows and then deploy on Unix.
You'll be well prepared to learn SQL, XML, Javascript as well.
Been out here in the programming world since '88 and that has been my experience.
wut no python? am i really that out of date or does your college suck balls

Python is useless, just learn Psudo it's basically the same thing.

i'm in academia man. i'm so far behind what is actually used in the real world. i tried looking for a job outside of colleges and realized quickly i'm essentially useless in their eyes even though i have deep analytical and data handling skills. i'll actually be unemployed when my appointment ends even though i've gone to school much longer than most a private business hires. fml stupid choices

HAHAHA Wtf
Don't waste your time with anything other than C# and SQL. That will give you a base knowledge to earn good money while you pick up other development skills. After that knowledge you can easily understand other development languages.
