Well obviously there are loads of transferrable skills and epee in particular is very close to "classical" dueling, but they'd have plenty to relearn, and obviously you are less concerned for your own safety in this sport than real duelists are, so there are some attacks you would just never do.

I think a world class epeeist would wreck any classical rapier fencer though, just cut their wrist to pieces til they literally can't hold a blade.
