Why do you miss the 90s so much?

Why do you miss the 90s so much?

I don't

It kinda sucked

less racism

OP's image making me thirsty.

mmmm could go for a milkshake right now

i don't
i miss the 80s

Were the 90's the edgiest decade ever?

I don't

Shit decade outside of some of the music; I'm glad it's the future now.

90s sucked
80s was the GOAT movie decade

Because it was a time of cultural growth and prosperity. Where liberal ideals such as sexual freedom and looking to expanding to the stars where common, and patriotism and conservatism where thingns in the hated minority. Where culture and fun was all about aliens and monsters. This generation is fucked up, we all need to be made into beautiful mosnsrterous creatons of mengola to be beautiful and wonderous again as a society.

70's*

Are you 12?

I really don't. Yeah, shit was easier then, but I enjoy the conveniences of today way more than reliving my childhood.

Only fags born too late to even remember the 90s "miss" them. Why does the internet breed this kind of false nostalgia?

>90s movie
>Offspring starts playing

*tips fedora

No I turn 18 tomorrow

Rose-colored glasses: The Post

*19

Im actually 20 you tard

Literally eat shit. I was born in 96, and havent been happy since i was 4.

>everyone wearing sweatshirts and sweatpants
>oversized cargo shorts
>awful haircuts
>eclectic clothing colors inflicted from the fallout of the 80's

Never again.

The only cool thing about the 90s was that you could function in society without a cell phone. Now we have to carry them around like some kind of annoying appendage

Hey everyone, get a load of this guy!

I was born in the USSR so we didn't get they 90's until 1994.

I was molested and beaten on an almost daily basis iin the 90's. I don't miss them one bit.
I wish you faggot redditors would shut the fuck up about "le 90's". Most things sucked and you're blind with nostalgia goggles to understand that the 90's weren't as great as you think.

>>eclectic clothing colors inflicted from the fallout of the 80's
>not wantingg a ressurgance of neon
Your the cancer that caused 9/11 and batman and robin

You don't have to, user. The best decision I've made recently was getting rid of my smartphone. I just use a flip phone now, but leave it at home a lot

The next step is leaving this fucking website.

Born in 89, late 90's were bar none the worst years of my life followed closely by early to mid 00's.

Yeah well neither have i and i was born in the 80s. So suck it newfag, youre basicallly a 2000s kid. Too bad thats not "in" at the moment

The only way I feel nostalgic for the 90s is in a purely ironic way unlike the feelings I have for the 80s which is a legitimate respect. Even then, the only thing that could be appreciated by the 90s is it's over the top stupidity and trying so hard to be XTREME.

Cos people didn't give as much of a shit about political correctness

It was great you fucking shithead. Only a retarded little bitch like you who cant accept that the 90s were great outside of your dads rape basement.

>literally getting triggered by the 90s
I know a site you can consider a safe space

A flip phone is still a cell phone. I miss payphones and just making plans with people

So much great tv
The only post-90s show I've seen that rivals the pre-90s is LOST, and perhaps BSG

Nostalgia is denial - denial of the painful present... the name for this denial is golden age thinking - the erroneous notion that a different time period is better than the one one's living in - it's a flaw in the romantic imagination of those people who find it difficult to cope with the present.

Suck it bitch. The 2000s fuckinng sucked. I remember the 90s vividly, and would give almost anything to relieve my younger years.

The best thing about the 90's were the toys and videogames

>implying batman and Robin was not a direct result of 90s being shit
Wow.

I was born in '86. Im more of a 90's kid than you. I don't use the 90's as a means of social acceptance unlike you redditors.

because it was a time before edgy grimdark TV shows took over, we could never have something like Brisco County Jr or Hercules today

Vidya is shit, toys are were its at. Im not from plebeddit you retard!

The only people who missed the 90's were the kids who were born into and were just young children who were sheltered by their parents. All they have to rant & rave about are the snacks, sodas, video games, and cartoons (although a lot of pictures I see that show "90's" cartoons actually started in the 00's)

>mfw graduated high school 1991 and was suddenly kicked out of the house by my hard ass father, struggling to pay bills, and go to college
90's were a tough time for me

The 80s was objectively the worst decade for film. Unless you only like body horror films and action sci-fi blockbusters. Then you had a perennial boner.

Pretty much this.

The '90s were when Japan ruled the waves and tons of quality games came out. Even with the Engrish, they were still entertaining as fuck.

Yes you are

You mean social media. Back then had beepers.

This is literally true and this post made me aware. Nice thought user

i was molested in that decade
so I don't

No you cock, only assholes had beepers. Now everybody's an asshole

Because it was comfy. Sure, it's also nostalgia, but the 70's and 80's were also comfy in their own way.

Towards the end of the 90's pretty much everything turned to shit, and post 9/11 things just got even worse. I honestly feel bad for millennials.

You mean people with jobs you shit

>people took more risk in creating movies and tv shows, now all has the stench of PC and Focus Groups
because wrestling was mainstream
>videogames were simple but fun
>the arcade scene
>Music was better
>i was younger

Confirmed for never lived in the 90s

Only things I miss from the 90s were the shows on Nickelodeon, CN, WB, etc. and the video games on SNES, N64, and PS1.

People just generally miss any time in the past so long as it isn't NOW, because it's currently pretty shitty.

The music (not pop) was the absolute best, it was pre-9/11 so it was kind of an age of innocence, the women were pretty loose and their hair and fashion (not JNCOs) were pretty sexy. The economy was booming and prosperous. Except for a few skirmishes, the country was at peace. TV wasn't as good as it is now but there were many hidden gems. Independent Films were experiencing an awakening. American Football was more fun and violent. UFC was literally Street Fighter 2: The Sport instead of sweaty dick punching. Baseball had roids and was more exciting. Toys were better and there weren't safety precautions all over them. Video games were in the 16 bit era and some of the best games of all time were released Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Etc.

Because I had no responsibilities and there were no repercussions for my actions. Now I have to work and sell my soul to the devil. Also the cartoons and music were cool.

rose colored as fuck glasses

No

They were rad, and fun as fuck

...

videogames, music, and movies were better because the population wasn't as stupid.

This.

Cell phones and social media killed comfy.

Well, the population was still stupid, but you didn't have the internet and social media to make you so overwhelmingly aware of how fucking idiotic people are.

i was born in 89 and i miss the 90s

you are the type of humongous faggot i hate
anyone born after 93 isnt a 90s kid
you are so full of shit, you dont remember anything from the 90s except for blues clues nigger

i fucking hate faggots like you

And without access to millions of free instant porn sites, people were a lot more likely to go out and get laid.

There were a lot less neckbearded 30 year old kissless virgins back then.

>anyone born after 93 isnt a 90s kid

I was born in '85 and didn't really become aware of cultural shit until I was 9 or 10, which was already halfway through the decade.

Nobody born in the 90's is a "90's kid".

I was born in 87 so I'm a proper 90s child. I miss that the world felt more mysterious, this isn't simply because I was a kid but more to do with having no Internet, you couldn't just Google shit.
Also multiplayer games meant split-screen, so you could make friends easy by playing video games at your house.
I miss the majesty of it being the final years of 1000-2000, I saw it go from 1999-2000 and enter a new age.
I miss renting films from video stores and seeing some absolute blunders because the pics on the back looked good, you couldn't just google it and see some people on Sup Forums saying its a shit film, you formed your own opinions, which is why everyone liked Independence Day, it would have been roasted in today's arena, the sequel has nostalgia armour.
I miss how simple the world was most of all, now with internet, smart phones, I think we doomed ourselves, really.
Look at me, I'm almost 29 and spend all day on image boards, jacking off to porn. This isn't life, I'm dead inside.

>cultural shit
How cab you not be aware of culture, Jesus Christ, it's all around you.

>ywn return from school and watch back to back episodes of Are You Afraid of the Dark? and The Adventures of Pete & Pete.

HEY SMILIN' STRANGE'

I miss the 90s. WIth that said, I was 6 in 1990. The 90s rocked. If you say you """""miss""""" the 90s while simultaneously being BORN IN THE 90s then you're probably a drooling retard.

Before then I was watching movies in theaters and listening to music on the radio, but I was also watching Star Wars and old Bond films, and listening to the Supremes and the Beach Boys, because that's what my parents liked, and up until a certain age you don't really make a distinction and realize, "hey, this is what's happening now and is cool".

Except Ninja turtles. Ninja turtles were the shit.

>I was born in '85 and didn't really become aware of cultural shit until I was 9 or 10

yea probably because you and not self aware and retarded

i remember a lot about my experiences in the 90s

i would travel a lot back and forth from washington dc and new york city when i was a kid

i remember going to times square and seeing TRL being filmed once

i remember what it was like to come home and watch nickleodeon until i got punished for not doing my homework by not being able to play with my snes and then my n64

i remember how everybody started shitting their pants because of Y2K

i remember a lot of shit

but faggots born after 93 wanna say they know about the 90s because its fashionable right now and it irritates me

I thought Are You Afraid of the Dark was only on Snick, and Pete and Pete was a day time show.

This.

If you were born in the 90s, especially 1995+ you really aren't a 90s child, youre a 00s child.

I was born.in the 80s but don't go around calling myself an 80s child.

>93
what a strange choice. Is it perhaps because you were born in 1993?

This is a simple thing: IF YOU WERE BORN IN THE 90s, ANY YEAR OF THE 90s, YOU ARE NOT A 90s KID.

>The next step is leaving this fucking website.

I've been on this step for years.

the instant gratification of the Web killed a lot of the social fabric that the 90's had.

People could be wrong about an actor being in some movie.

if you couldn't guess the name of a song, you ask the radio or your friends.

i learned how to play Street Fighter in the Arcade, now i can dowload a faq, watched strategy guides online and so on,

Child of the seventies here. Born '79.

I was born in 1980 and I agree with this. The 80's only had better blockbusters.

wasn't depressed and pathetic yet

i was born in 89

i hadnt been self aware until around 95 i suppose but i was always a smart kid and it didnt take long for me to realize what was happening in the world around me, faggot

>i remember going to times square and seeing TRL being filmed once

TRL first aired in '98... I remember seeing Joe Vs the Volcano in the movie theater, but that doesn't mean I experienced the 80's.

This guy.

>Born in 1978
>Was an 80s child
>High school and beginning of college in 90s.

90's was the best decade I can remember vividly.

found the retarded 2000s child who think he knows what hes talking about

I'm an 80's kid, I miss disco and bellbottoms and all the cool slang and free-willed sex and great movies.

Born in '89.

not in my country

yea i was 8 when that happened

i dont have to prove shit

>Rinsin' Jungle anthem starts playing

Can someone find me a white t shirt with this design on it

Thanks in advance,

Jeremy Goldsworthy

That's an interesting point, user. The Internet, great as it is in some regards, has sort of taken away some of the excitement out of life. Especially with regard to entertainment. Remember how cool it was to go searching for things back before the Internet was ubiquitous? Like that Mew that allegedly could be found underneath the truck near the SS Anne. Stuff like that could never happen today when you can whip out your phone and be connected to the entirety of human knowledge. Even shit like porn was more exciting back then. You appreciated things like scrambled titties on skinimax. Now I can jump online and find literally any sort of depraved shit I want instantly and for free. It's desensitizing.

It will be interesting to see how much society changes when the kids that are currently being raised in that sort of environment grow up and take the reigns.

>i was always a smart kid and it didnt take long for me to realize what was happening in the world around me, faggot

The way you talk makes it sound more like you were born in '99.

Friendly reminder, in order to be a XX's kid, you had to be AT LEAST 10 YEARS OLD at some point in that decade.

also, most of the girls weren't this gold digger Kardashians wannabes

i fuckin loved pogs

The 90's was literally the last good decade

The world has been complete shit since 9/11

Not the same guy, but I grew up in a smallish town in the south and moved to New York City after college. Not all "culture shit" that happens to be in your immediate surrounding is created equally. I can see his point.

No mate you would have been aware of stuff, even if it's kids stuff like cartoons. I distinctly remember Superted cartoon because my mum got me Superted vitamin tablets, there was Babar the Elephant and Bucky O Hare, Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters, Batman the Animated Series and Biker Mice from Mars. Loads more, I also remember toys, they re-released the original Star Wars trilogy so there was a huge wave of Star Wars toys.
I remember video games too.
This is culture any kid can be aware of.
Stuff on the need, politics etc might not be.

Whoa fellas, get a load of this little kid over here.
