what a retarded list. Kill yourself

better than the old list at least

DELETE THIS

IT is garbage. You do know what IT is, right?

Psychology is a pseudoscience. Anyone interested in psychology is either a retard sympathist or a retard themselves.

May not be the best money, but there's stable and abundant careers right? Am I missing something?

education should not be above IT

I don't think that's fair to say. Therapy does help people's happiness. I don't see how you can discredit that.

Philosophy in God Tier. Obvious bait.

Yeah, but that's not the point. Jacob Sartorious is making millions, but he is a literal faggot.

Brudda, I'm an IT major working with CS majors making the same salary. Kekkles

studies on average income and career by music major would be shed more light on how shit it is than referencing pop-stars who account for a minuscule percent of the population.

and when an opening higher on the chain appears, who do you think will get it? the employee with the stronger degree

i'd rather have a "shit tier" job and enjoy the fuck out of it than have a high paying job and fucking hate existing.

nice bait.

Google IQ by profession. OP might be gay, but i dont think its bait

Dedication and passion will get you money in any field I would say. If you want to make more than the average joe you have to work for it, whether it's english or physics..

Law and web design in the same category? Lol

op is a bundle of faggots, pick history anyways

>easy job to teach college level history
>research quotas and grant requirements are trivial to fulfill
>I actually enjoy history; I won't an hero self 10 years later after my professional career is past a peeking point

Major: Computer Science
Minor: Chemistry

I can't describe the accuracy of this list. The people who say otherwise are shitbrain plebs who are trying to act like their worthless degrees matter and were hard-fought.

Sorry mang, IT majors can become sysadmins, DBAs, Sr developers, etc. Also, getting the job is the only point where that matters. Maybe you should graduate before you talk. Mew mew mew

>Managing Director
>Advanced Diploma / Apprenticeship / Electrical
>$250ish k Per year
>Own company 4 year, sales 12 years before that

>inb4 capitalism is fucked and i have no future
Capitalism is good for absolutely everyone of above average intelligence and work ethic.

I wasnt even talking about music majors. Read the post I replied to.

I still don't understand the point you're trying to make regardless

Any jack off can go to Devry and get a computer science degree in less than 2 years. Not that impressive.

haha idiot..... IT will only get those positions if they took the time to teach themselves the various code the company requires. Otherwise, you better know someone special.

>kekkles
Okay sure buddy

another idiot.... a 2 year degree is completely different than a 4 year degree. There are even different 4 year degrees under computer science..

Does anybody in this thread even go to school?

IT Manager
>IT Manager
>100k/yr or 50$/hr
>Picked it up because I genuinely love computers.

I was saying, the purpose of the thread is not to argue income, its to argue autism levels of the people involved.

Apparently you have no idea what an IT program encompasses.

>Business shit tier
Corporations and businesses literally run the world. Kill yourself op get that god tier math degree and become a teacher you fucking faggot.

>i'd rather have a "shit tier" job and enjoy the fuck out of it than have a high paying job and fucking hate existing.

Fine!
Just don't ask for my taxes to pay for your shitty life.

Sure, but those degrees aren't "real" degrees.
Also, certs and specific qualification are also important as well. A degree in CS gives you the foundations to accomplish this and also shows the employer that you have at least some form of dedication and commitment to the field. Not saying that it's 100%, but to say it's useless? IDK FAHM

> 4 year computer science graduate
> "you have no idea what an IT program encompasses"

Go back to rankin/ITT Tech fag lol

oh ic

these faggots just dont get the point of the thread

>IT major

automatically a retard

Biology and chemistry in a tier under philosophy. Anything and everything you have to say is invalid

/thread

Wrong. The Devry CS degree is a bachelor's degree, dipshit. It's accelerated. It is a 4 year degree. It just takes two years to obtain via DeVry.

All it does is try to self validate degenerate behavior or thought

FSU mang. Sorry to burst your bubble. Also graduated with the highest undergrad GPA with my specific college. Sorry, not sorry. You're the one ignoring actual knowledge of the field by someone in the field under a fortune 10 company. You don't gotta believe me, sweet prince.

this.. it is completely absurd to think that an IT degree is anything substantial. I'm pretty sure if i taught my dog how to type, he could get an IT degree.

Biology requires information, not thought. Biologists can fuck right off to low tier imo. Chemistry i agree with u tho

anybody who uses "sorry, not sorry" isn't even out of high school yet...

People in here literally thinking IT means help desk bullshit. You must really not understand it at all.

I havent even heard anyone IMPLY anything else specifically.

This is coming from the guy that put teachers on the same tier as doctors and lawyers. Do you have any idea how long it takes to become a good mechanic? Do you understand how many years of your life you have to give to make it professionally in sports? Are you even in college yet? You don't seem to understand how real life works.

In this thread:

IT fags think that since they jailbroke their 3rd gen iPod touch that they are making a 6 figure salary.

Why is psychology shit tier? My sister had to pay $120 a week to her psychiatrist for a single 45 minute session wtf

Whoa, my choice of words dictates my level of education? Damn, we have some winners in this thread.

I'm a blue collar worker and clearly too awesome for this list

Okay, should I be impressed though? What are the entry requirements for Devry? Money and a pulse? GTFO.

Hell, I have a doctorate in psych. It opens up multiple avenues for income (private practice, working for organizations, consulting, research), and the median income is 90k. That's not shit tier.

>implying that i'm OP
Already autism...

Mechanics are losers, Pro Athletes have talent. No comparison.

>I go to a $50k/yr private college

how many extra chromosomes do you have?
psychiatrists are doctors

I mean, I can sit there and type out all of the languages and environments we use, but you'll just undermine it.

ITT: CS majors still in college mad as fuck because they're writing in basic.

It dictates your lack of maturity.

People love to shit on blue collar workers but I have a lot of respect for you all. Your jobs are important to keep shit going and if you master your craft you can make great money for relatively easy work

shit teir:
>social science

>Paralegal
>Sociology
>40k a year
>2 years
I got into the job simply because I wasn't a SJW cuck like most people in my major, so when I had some actually non-shit networking opportunities.

It's obviously not a great job, but it's decent. I'm not ashamed of it at the very least, and I'm ashamed of most people with my major.

That list is trash

Ah, maturity is the equivalent of knowledge and skill. Amazing

Thanks.

Easy but physically demanding work.

fucking idiot

I don't mean easy, its not easy work, I was just saying once you've done it for 20 or 30 years it must become second nature and just another day on the job

The best part about Sup Forums is the heavy use of the word autism by autists who love to argue minutea and sperg out every chance they get. At the end of the day, your experience and ability to network are infinitely more helpful than the letters on your "IT" or "CS" degree. Most of you are all so socially inept that you will never make more than 30k a year. Your promotion will have nothing to do with your actual ability to do the job. Your promotion to upper management is almost entirely based on your ability to kiss ass and swallow shit sandwiches. Have fun in the basement, losers.

why is everyone in sociology a fucking commie? I enjoyed the intro class, but goddamn.

>long story short, my grandfather got me interested in the Alien series and the Abyss, then Avatar came out and I wanted to learn how they did it, then my step brother got me into indie film and I wanted to learn how to make such beautiful shit.

Super duper happy that I'm able to make a living doing this, but I am constantly a nervous wreck with anxiety and if I don't work on something for a few weeks I get really depressed. I would not recommend it to anyone who isn't 100% sure they wouldn't kill themselves or give themselves a heart attack. You have to be a cunt to do this job.

This... I am a CS major but still this so hard. You can have any degree you want in the world, but if you're an antisocial basement dweller, you aren't going anywhere. You will never work your way up in a company off of pure skill and memez

IT guy here. Done with my shit, so I'm taking my leave. Good luck college peeps.

Oh and I've been doing it for 3 years about.

Ah, i see.

That's true. I've done it my whole life and i don't think i could do any other type of job. I enjoy working hard and getting shit done.

It does get easier over time, but the first few years burn you out like crazy.

how? are you a retard or something?

The trades are amazing places. My father supported a family of 4 on his salary as a pipe fitter. 90-100k a year. Backbreaking work but it provided an awesome life for my family.

risky move user. tell me more; how big did your projects get, how high in the hollywood latter you've climbed, etc

always been into film but am terrified of starving

??
I've seen internships for up to $41/hr...

A lot of the projects I've done recently have been short films, but sometimes we'll get feature contracts with Netflix movies and stuff like that. I've personally worked on a Netflix feature (it's not out yet, NDA and shit), a local feature that didn't go super far, and I've gotten to meet a bunch of good indie directors. I've got nothing at all to do with Hollywood filmmaking. It's just mostly independent stuff. I haven't directed anything big, but Ive done cinematography on the features.

>ER Nurse
>Associates (ADN)
>55K/yr
>2 years
>always people dieing, and it pays well

Maybe. Or maybe he coasted by. When I was doing CS, there were peeps in my classes who couldn't code for shit. If you don't do the extra outside work to learn the languages and methodology, then you're not even going to be able to compete. My first job used a proprietary language. I had to learn it all over again. The only relevant classes at that point were the classes that focused on logic. If he has done literally nothing, then he just can't compete. My buddy works for IGT and he is a hiring manager there. They regularly hire people with no degree over people with CS degrees because those people without, have taught themselves the necessary skills needed to program and can work circles around a green CS grad.

male or female?

Always thought nursing is pretty cool. Though depending on your degree, there is quite a pay difference, and competition.

It's because the average person is just shit, it just expresses itself easier in Sociology.

One of the things that seems most undergrads in this major fail it is they don't understand the basis of ethical research. They don't know that you should be somewhat emotionally detached, in a similar vein to having journalistic integrity.

You should do your research with a goal, obviously, but you should still be objective and rational about how your present your findings and what you believe them to mean.

Most people ASTOUNDINGLY miss out on that bit of wisdom.

Instead of just wanting to understand societal/group mechanisms, they go into it with an axe to grind and end up devolving into weird militant assholes. They don't understand the concept of what the fuck they're doing. There's a difference between, say, asking a question about the wage gap in order to answer a societal question and using social research as a blunt tool for you to campaign for your personal beliefs. The former is going to report the truth, the latter is going to cherry-pick bullshit and lie to your face for the "greater good". Most dye-haired SJW cucks are in the second category, and honestly, that's most undergrads. They make me feel fucking ashamed.

There really, REALLY needs to be mandatory ethics classes for this major, and people should take it early. At the very least, it should be strongly pushed in any intro classes.

4 year Bachelor of IT here. Same classes as the C's students, minus physics one, two and calc two. Finished it last year.

Working part time for a company and running my own business. Made 200k gross so far this year. 85k net to my pocket after shit tons of taxes and business expenses. (Lots of travel, and some contract workers)

>philosophy

top kek

I make 200k a year.

No one is stupid enough to think business and law are low and mid tier.

credentialism = cancer

don't play the game

do you know how many people with minimal education can do your job despite your 4-6 year degree, internships, and networking bullshit? The majority of the time you degreetards are out of touch with the realities of the fucking processes that you "are too smart to do but are put in charge of" and ending up fucking them up worse than they were, and the main reason is because you've never done it before and have no experience doing that work. What you come up with on paper rarely translates to the real world.

You'll find out soon, when we start importing from 3rd world countries for 1/3 of your cost. It's already happening at the plant I work at in TN.

Yeah now google salary by profession

Good stuff man. A buddy of mine is in nursing school, and being a male in that field, it seem like you have the path pretty paved for you as long you can compete in academics.

> Welder
> Associates degree( Multiple certifications as well)
> 50k+
> I am 1 year out of class
> Degrees are for cucks

Doing what, faggot?

Even if I believe you, the only way you'd be making that much money is if you were published or at least very, VERY respected in your field, something that anyone can reasonably accomplish if they're charismatic enough in any field.

And I don't believe you because an elite philosopher doesn't type fucking "kek" on Sup Forums. Well, then again, I guess it's possible you could make that much money as long as you peddle your retarded philosophy in an appealing form to retards that would eat up, like the alt-right.

Not the ER nurse, but my girl is a nurse and it's an interesting road. Definitely a lot of work. She finished nursing school and jumped right into the board exams. If you don't want to do that, you can do a program for a year at most hospitals that basically consists of nursing and working toward the boards. If you go that route, the initial pay isn't huge(45k or so) and the job is rough. Her friends were working 7 day shifts sometimes with hellacious hours(10-12 a day). I seriously thought it was illegal at some points. If you take the boards and become an RN first, you really have your pick of places. My lady got lucky and new some people. So she will be working for a Orthopedic Surgeon soon making good money(60k-75k starting). Location also matters quite a bit.
