Question for Muslim fags. What's it like living in the west at the moment? Do you get lots of abuse on the street etc?
All the Muslim lads I know are decent guys, yet I only ever read about the bad stuff in the papers. So my personal experience is at odds with the media (which, let's face it, is extremely coercive)

Not every muslim would act on the shit that is written in the Quran, but the Quran encourages and enables people who are already hopeless and crazy, do to terrible things to innocent people. Encourages them to make a name for themselves that they couldnt make in a positive way.

A solid response. I suppose the decent Muslims I know occasionally do Ramadam and that's about it. They drink, gamble a bit and pretty much live the same lifestyle as I do.
The issue as I see it (same for Christianity) is that when your group is the poorest in your society you will lean towards extremist teachings as an escape from your current predicament. Basically blaming everyone else for your situation (see feminists, the disabled and any other minority groups). While there may be an element of discrimination most people actively try not to discriminate.

Some of us are just born muslims but living in US opens you up to a lot of other cultures and people and then one day you realize that maybe, just maybe the shit that has been fed to you all your life.. Yea, that's all just made up. Once that happens,you are a free man. You can go anywhere, do anything.

Not really a "good" Muslim. I do the normal Muslim stuff like the daily prayers and I dont know why and my dad is a very devout Muslim and I have been taught Islamic principles since very young. Ive never just really believed it. All these extremist Muslims going crazy about the western society aren't great people either. They break all the laws of Islam. Its really easy. I'd imagine it would be harder for more conservative sects, but I've never had a problem, aside from the occasional right winger giving me shit, but that would happen based on my skin tone anyway ( or if I was an atheist or gay or any number of other things). It really matters what kind of Muslim you are though. If you are the kind that gets all pissy over ow other people live their lives, you'll have a harder time, but that goes for the Christians that live like that too. Going through your life with a grudge because other people like what you don't like doesn't bring you any closer to God.
If there was sharia then these men wouldn't dare do stuff like that. You see a few muslims molesting girls and you think it's sanctioned in Islam? Actually, outside of Iran and Daesh, there aren't really dudes at the top. There is no Muslim pope or central Muslim authority, and most mosques are independent entities. There are sects, but they aren't organized but rather just shared belief systems. The Saudi dogs push an extreme form of Islam and fund mosques and schools that push it, but most of Islam is more like protestant Christianity as I understand it, where each church is its own island and the local pastor has nobody above him. This is actually part of the problem, because moderates have no way to censor extremists. Like regular Christians can't shut Fred Phelps up, except our assholes blow shit up.

I think he means that they don't use the actual tenets of their religion, while Muslim terrorists torture the tenets of their religion for justification. The Burmese Buddhists have tied their religion to nationalism, and use their religion to justify their terrorism, but they don't really use their tenets to justify it. It is a complicated situation.
