I kinda want to resub to WoW (I haven't played since WoD launched), but it aged like milk. The animations and effects are awful.

wow who didn't see this coming? Flop of the fucking century coming in

All I wanted to do was make a fun film for the fans...

Bowie didn't die for this

It's been a year since last major content patch has released. I would be careful when resubbing.

He actually did.

Hundreds of video game movies have been made over decades and not a single one has been great, commercially successful or enjoyable. How is that statistically possible? Does it just tell us that the source material is shit? Or that people who play video games can't make good movies?
I think its the former.

No video game movie has stayed completely faithful to the source material.

Imagine the video game as Star Wars A New Hope.
The movie made based on that game would be The Force Awakens: basically the same idea, but changed in every facet in some way.

Based Fassy is going to change all that, user

J

You didn't answer my fucking question you retard, never reply to me again.

I knew as soon as I saw that orc baby in the trailer

The resident evil movies were financially successful. Why do you think there are 100 of them?

Games tend to have threadbare plots that just exist to give some semblance of a background to the gameplay

MK

I saw it yesterday. It's amazing fantasy, full of heart and details of Warcraft world. Don't believe critics, they can be polymorfed.

>commercially successful
They have done like 6 or something Resident Evil movies so they must be successful in some way

Cheap, crummy horror movies are always successful, they could've based those on anything, the fact they chose a video game series was to catch on a bit more attention.

I think its that its just impossible to capture what makes a game great into a movie. But shit heads in Hollywood with short attention spans and a lack of creativity will look at a game making a lot of buzz and lazily think "bam... there's our next blockbuster"

The visuals were terrible even when the game was new.

I saw it yesterday. It's a solid 8/10. It's just a repeat of what happened with BvS. Ignore the critics.

Just sub to real life bro

The fuck? Did they use the in-game models?

...

IT'S THE ONLY THING

Financiallt successful there's been plenty. Critically is another matter.

MK is the only one I can think of, and other than the "Muslim racism" memes Angry Birds is probably honestly another

FUCKING HELL

xD

How can a RL set look so bad? It literally looks worse than shit tier cgi. Embarrassing.

There's something weird with the walls. What the fuck is up with the walls? Did they CG the whole room? Or just choose materials that looked really fake.

I loved every second of this movie

>video game movies are never successful
>but this one is
>that doesn't count because this reason I just made up

Faggot

They tried to make materials looks like in-game textures

I want to believe you but I can't.

Is that an actual thing they said, or just something that feels true?

good, cause I was shit posting

Holy shit, the set design looks like something straight from the '50s. Literally looks worse like Ben-Hur, Cleopatra and The Ten Commandments.

Well video games are a different format, the way they tell what barebones stories that they have is typically through gameplay when they're done right. And conveying story through gameplay is a completely different feeling than conveying story through film. Something like Uncharted or TLoU might be easy to adapt because they're 40% cutscene, but other games it would tough.

Just saw this yesterday.
I honestly don't get this score. It was not a bad movie in any way. I thought it was quite enjoyable once the plot gets going.
Really don't understand how this is getting 25% while any Marvel movie gets 90% fresh scores.

>Metal Gear Solid
>Director: Peter Jackson

leave Vidyakino to me

Because Orcs and Magic are for fucking basement dwelling losers you freak.

Go back to harassing women on the internet.

critics are racist against video games

Except LoTR, obviously

>the part with uwe boll
Pure kino.

Orcs in Lotr were not nerdy and you can count the time magic was used on 1 hand.

I just checked and Hobbit 2&3 got like 60-74% fresh.
This is bullshit. Warcraft is actually way better than Five Armies which was just a giant mess of a movie.

Yeah Five armies is complete trash. The fact that it's fresh goes to show how much of a joke RT is

He clearly did.

>Does it just tell us that the source material is shit?
>No video game movie has stayed completely faithful to the source material.

except i bet critics hate lotr because it's rayciss and misogyny

very underrated

BotFA has 60%
Fuck off, I like the Hobbit movies but the 3rd one is 80 - 90% horrible and complete trash

Really hope Warcraft is better

>Miss out on spending the last few days with your dying father because you're working on this failed abortion of a piece of shit

wew

Nope Warcraft even worse than BotFA, at least Hobbit have a good design and green scream.

>In your JUST dreams

there is no way he is going to be able to make 2 sequels considering this bombed hard.

You have to be older then 12 to post here

Blizzcuck, please.

movies dont flop these days, just look at BvS

well he's not wrong about it having better design, BotFA is bad but the sets in Warcraft look like a high school production

Well they let fucking Metzen at the writing, what did they expect?

you're confusion "braindead investor porn" with "profit."

Of course all these entities have been too big to fail since the 80s.

It is definitely better than Five Armies.
This 25% rotten score is complete bullshit.
Wrong, Five Armies is way less visually pleasing than Warcraft.

>just look at BvS
And they already dudes shitton of people who made this, Universal will not waste so many resources in side-franchise.

The Hobbit had way better actors, music, set design and practical effects, though. And also a way better story to work with.

What makes it more sad is how seriously he was; thinking this was going to be the greatest game movie ever (don't tell me he didn't think this).

Whatever you say shill, at least elves in Hobbit looks better than this.

Actually they don't look bad in motion. The look like ass on still images taken from trailers but they look okay in the movie.
I was actually surprised since I expected all human related parts to look horrible.

I saw it. It deserves a 50 rather than a 25. But not more.
As for the critics, that's what you get when you create a film for the fans alone.

so you saying Justice League could still get cancelled?

Still: very unlikely for the whole DCU to cave in considering there is millions of Batman/Superman fans still.

Warcraft has like what? A few thousands dedicated fans? 90% of them being neckbeards.

Remembering: Warcraft is made only for the fans whilst the DCU isn't made just for comic fans.

Honestly, he did make one of the best video game movies in the end. It's definitely better than all the Tomb Riaders, most Resident Evils, Uwe Boll's movies and what not.
I hope this doesn't ruin his career though. He put genuine effort into it and it's not a bad movie.

kek

>Forgetting that Postal was, is and probably will be, at least for some time, the only vidyakino

>but they look okay in the movie.
Nope.
>so you saying Justice League could still get cancelled?
Nope, but DCEU is totally WB product, while Warcraft owned by Activision, more likely Universal will spend money on Jurasic trilogy, than Warcraft, of course there is the chance that China will save Warcraft box office, but unlikely it will such hit as Deadpool.

This. The film doesn't give a fuck if you don't know the universe and don't bother to explain a single thing.

Most retarded idea ever. But then again METZZZZZENNNNN

Bitch please.

I resubbed to do [Well Read]. Brush up on lore before the movie comes out.

>It's definitely better than all the Tomb Riaders, most Resident Evils, Uwe Boll's movies and what not.
Please tell me you are drunk or trolling

>Nothing like the adventure fun of Tomb Raider

>Nothing like the terrifying horror action of Resident Evil

>Nothing like the campiness with a solid rock soundtrack of Uwe Boll's vidya flicks

He actually saw an advance screening of the movie and it advanced his cancer.

This is because it is the only video game movie that followed the game almost exactly; being entirely politically incorrect - making fun of every race, every person and not being shy in the slightest with being the most offensive piece of filming that I have ever seen in my entire life I swear to God

The movie wasn't that bad, to be honest. It had problems, but it was perfectly watchable.

Pretty sure Bowie saw a workprint of the film and told Duncan that he was proud of him.

This was Uwe Boll's masterpiece. Well either this, or beating the shit out of Lowtax.

I am so sad he is retiring :( he made some amazing non video game films: Darfur, Tunnel Rats, Stoic, Rampage - all of these are kino's (yes I mean kino: A cinematic European masterpiece).

He stated he was going to make a Postal 2 but due to not having much money left he can't ;_;

Yeah it was watchable. It was still pretty shitty though and clearly not the movie that is going to break the curse.

I never thought I would see the day when people would actually unironically defend Uwe Boll movies.

That's very sad. While he obviously wasn't the best director, it always felt like he loved what he was doing and was genuine in his efforts.

>I never thought I would see the day when people would actually unironically defend Uwe Boll movies.

Blackwoods, Darfur, Tunnel Rats, Stoic, Rampage

- Watch those movies first before you make more judgements about him as a director, writer.

But knowing someone like you: you aren't and are just going to criticize his video game adaptions.

I don't need to see them to know they're shit.

>it's an RT thread

Yes that is very true. He didn't make any movies for profit but for his own visions and creativity.

youtube.com/watch?v=4QE86PNLv0E

Well I hope you're right...

Still got to wait a while to see it

Fine be that way... I can't make you change your mind if you want to believe that.

Uwe Boll's films have some of the best writing I have ever seen put in a film - I am not talking about his video game films.

He travelled to Africa to film Darfur where he met people who's families where massacred by terrorists and got them to react what they went through. Fucking brilliant film.

youtube.com/watch?v=1pQqoVhb7m4

I'd definitely rather watch an Uwe Boll movie over some studio-directed generic mediocrity.

this movie would have done better with uwe boll

Given the disparity in reviews I wouldn't say it's bombed yet. The early reviews have done a lot of damage no doubt, but I haven't come across anyone saying they are no longer going to see it because of some reviews online, normies don't think like that.

I've always been impressed with Boll's casting. Like how did he dig up Edward Furlong, Kristanna Loken, and Billy Zane?

Except the movie is not made for normies.

>normies don't think like that

it's literally what killed BvS

All normies have the "lol so nerdy" member of the group that scopes power levels and then goes on the internet to read reviews and regurgitate those opinions to their friends so they seem insightful and informed.

They needed money? It's not like Loken did anything after T3. Zane hasn't done anything since... Titanic? He might as well just be known as the guy that banged Kelly Brock. And Furlong probably walked on set on day hoping to find his dealer and Boll assumed he was in the movie

nah he is better making realistic action dramas where he relies on practical effects compared to video game flicks that require way more of a bigger budget
