Prove me wrong
Protip:you cant
literally everyone in every country can participate, and it requires extensive training and knowledge. i honestly think this should be an event. If equestrian is, then i dont see why this isnt.

Agreed, but put it in winter olympics. They need more sports and chess is played indoors anyway.
nah, winter olympic sports are P E R F E C T
I bet you don't feel that about spelling bees, do ya? Diciplined fagget
how about Rocket League?
they have soccer and hand soccer and water soccer and stick soccer
Sure why not.
Still not a sport though.
I'd think the fact that e-sports are literally owned by corporations would be an issue. Imagine if the IOC had to pay the NBA to have basketball there and have NBA logos everywhere, I don't think they would do it.
Also Rocket League is new as fuck, it's only like a year and change old, you can't make that an Olympic event.
wich kind of athletic skill this discipline should embody?
sitting on your ass?
have they had cup stacking yet?
>chess outside in the cold
DO IT
how are you going to convince chess should be the board game in the olympics over go? go literally has billions more possible combinations
Something being more complex doesn't make it more worthy of being an Olympics event.
Also more potential spectators for chess than go I would think.
because go is a shit game that isn't as complex as chess
>muh combinations
>put the circle down next to his xDDDD
Fucking glorified tic tax toe
...
More international competition.
Nah. Chess loses its lustre once you realize your phone would obliterate any of the competitors that went to the Olympics.
What a stupid thing to say. My car would obliterate bolt. Big deal.
not watchable
neitther is your mom lad
You have never played any serious chess if think there is not a physical side to the game.
>Pieces frozen to board
>Must have superior melting abilities through oral means
>:)
China would win everytime.
go is for autistic chinks
US has 3 of the 5 best players in the world m8. We would dominate.
...
>Carlssn
3 of the best 7, haha!
Delete this, your pleb levels show
They wouldn't even get a medal.
the audience would by tiny and you know it
you can't casually watch chess like you can every other sport at the olympics
Hou Yifan (China, strongest woman today) would be the strongest contender for the Women's gold. However, it's possible Judit Polgar (Hungary, strongest woman in history) would be motivated to get herself back into playing shape and would then be the favorite for it.
But Judit is getting on and the years of playing have been hard on her.
Nerds who play MTG and fighting games would watch it. Poker players too. Anyone with an interest in mind sports desu
Look at the top players right now
1 Magnus Carlsen NORWAY
2 Maxime Vachier-Lagrave FRANCE
3 Vladimir Kramnik RUSSIA
4 Fabiano Caruana USA
5 Levon Aronian ARMENIA
6 Hikaru Nakamura USA
7 Wesley So, USA
8 Viswanathan Anand INDIA
9 Anish Giri NETHERLANDS
10 Sergey Karjakin RUSSIA
7 different countries in the top 10. That's good international competition. The top 5 are all different.
An MTG event would be pretty sick, desu
Like someone said before, they should make a separate event only for board games (chess, go, poker, etc.) and e-sports.
Bridge is the closest thing you'll ever get.
>>put the circle down next to his xDDDD
wtf are you talking about
