Sort of odd that that doesn't happen here in America but we also list a but more information. I know a guy who was arrested for a sex crime and is registered. I work with him actually. Pretty Fucked up case, he was arrested with no evidence and no testimony.
Regardless he's actively told me nobody has ever approached him about it and it's been almost ten years

Well, it *does* happen in the US! There have been quite a few cases where people have hunted down and killed another for being on the registry. I think the US registry is unlawful, and does not serve as a deterrent. I know the courts call it a civil registration, but I think it is more punitive than anything else. From what I have been reading, these poor bastards can't get jobs, a place to live, etc., etc., all because they are on the registry (in some cases) for something as simple as urinating in public!

kek You're right about that! I read they now passed something called an "International Megan's Law," where the poor buggers have to give 21 days' notice before they travel and provide a complete itinerary. The US then notifies the countries the person plans to visit, and invariably they are denied entry and forced to return home, with apparently huge losses of money to airfare, hotels, etc. So glad I do not live there!

One asks to stop going through the company because they are on hard times, he agreed, after a month of not being paid he threatened to take them to court. Next morning police come into his room around 6am and arrest him for "restraint of a minor". 6 months in fed and 10 years of registry

Sounds like it should be reformed to apply just to those who are actually a threat to childen (i.e. convicted molesters and rapists). These people cannot be reformed or rehabilitated. There's a mountain of verified research that backs that up. Once a pedo rapes or molests an actual child then they are in the same situation as a serial killer in terms of not being able to stop. It isn't a matter of if, it's a matter of when.

Wow...that must really be to reform him, huh? That is terrible. I presume if he did something really horrible, he would still be in the dark recesses of a US jail somewhere. I think this is just an excuse for the US to create a class of people that their fellow Americans can legally hate, torment and discriminate against.

Stated before it's been almost ten years and nobody has ever once bothered him about it.
He also works 3 jobs has no girlfriends or otherwise so he doesn't technically have to tell anyone because he works at places that don't background check

Agreed! However, I do not think that a person who simply possesses cp is a threat to children. I would be very cautious abut letting them around my children, if I had any, but these definitions always seem to be stretched or twisted to the broadest so that the registry can constantly be filled. It really boggles the mind as to how this can continue. I am truly surprised the Human Rights Watch, or the UN or even their ACLU doesn't step up to the plate and condemn this.
