I upgraded the gpu in my Alienware X51 R3 to a GTX 1070 knowing it was fully possible. after installation any game i try to play will instantly crash my pc or force a resart without an error message. I have the latest driver downloaded and I think i installed it correctly. Can anybody help me out here? Is anyone experiencing the same problem?

Sounds like its not getting enough power, quick google shows 330w for a PSU. Another quick google shows the 1070 consumes 161w where the 960 consumes 119w.
Upgrade the power supply, if you can.

Usually an instant reboot is to do with power. All psu are not equal, cheap ones often cannot deliver the power requirements for a high end video card, you more than likely need 12 amps per rail. Could also be worth actively deleting all video drivers and reinstalling latest. I would bet money it's the psu though.
