What can I study before joining the army in 7 months ?

I already have a undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and I don't want to continue.
I think about it since high school, and I am a reservist in the navy for 2 years.
I don't want to do something scientific, but something that can help me with my future job, noncommissioned officer in the infantry.
Maybe some management ? History ? Geography ? Sociology ? Sport ? Law ? Language (english is important now, with the european army projet).
Keep in mind that I will go to school for only a semester, i will not graduate but I just want to now the basics.

IT'S HAPPENING! Sup Forums MENTIONED IN CNN CONCERNING ATTACKS ON SHILLARY!

motor mechanics is the best knowledge you can take with you into the field

If you have a degree you can commission. Jobs prospects for infantry are not good, there are not a lot of jobs that need expertise in killing and shit talking lol. And NCO isnt a job it's part of a rank, have to earn it

Take a secretary class at community college because you will spend 90% of your time doing BS admin paperwork.

OP must have a shit GPA if he enlisted. I'm sure he tried to get commissioned already and failed.

>shit gpa
Wut? GPA doesnt matter in the real world friendo

No, but if I can, I will take the internal recruitment tests, I think I'll have more credibility that way.

To get acommision in the military it matters.

First aid

>What is community college

Why didn't you try to get a commission already? and why did the navy let you leave after only 2 years?

nigger, why would you join as an enlisted man when you can get commissioned?

History, leadership skills (what you learn in the army is good but it has some holes, make sure you are not a "toxic" leader.)

Basic EMT stuff is always helpful no matter what the situation.

First, if you are enlisting then you aren't going in as an NCO - with a college degree, you can go in as an E-4 but you will be a specialist, not a Corporal. Just t be clear, there IS a difference!

Second, college is not your best prep. I would spend your time doing a LOT of physical prep, and if you want to take classes take them in practical skills, not pure academics. Some sociology might help a little, so might a relevant language, but you are unlikely to learn enough in one semester to really help. So maybe go take a semester course on auto repair or such.

Reservist.

My bad

And I'm seconding first aid skills - you can easily knock out a first responder course in that time, maybe full EMT.

Yes that's a good advice, thank you, I already did that.

The let me leave after 2 years, or after 2 contracts, I work for them only in summer vacations, while a was in university.

Am Navy reservist - never heard of that happening.

If OP wants to enlist then fuck it, more power to him. If he later gets a comission then he will have more credibility with his men. The military command structure forces formal relations between officer and enlisted man, but you know and I know that no enlisted man respects a 2nd Lieutenant fresh out of college with no fuckin experience demanding his respect.

Just be aware that any contract they give you is most likely going to be triple that amount.

1. Fuck the blue chord, go cav.
2. Study your army history, the warriors creed and the ethos, learn rank structure
2 part 2 Make sure you never call a sergeant a sir or an officer a sergeant (Drill Sergeant shall be called Drill Sergeant)
3. Either way you go, make sure you can do the physical demands.

The army has recently introduced yet another test to qualify your MoS.
Most combat related rolls are listed as "heavy". (This is for new recruits only, you oldfags dont have to worry)

Infantry and Cav scouts have to do well on the..
1.dead lift (160)
2. Standing long jump (I forget the requirement)
3.weighted sitting ball throw (I forget it too, just make sure you can decently throw a 15 pound medicine ball like a man and not a girl and you're okay. Its easy.
3. Shuttle run (Cav scouts have to get 6.4 and I think 11B's are in same area).
Really prep for that shuttle run, theres people who are passing the 2 mile run with flying colors but are failing the shuttle run.

Anything automotive, electrical, gun maintenance will also make the field "easier" for you.

Didn't know you were ROTC midshiman thought you were an actual sailor my bad.

He'll have more respect from enlisted but less respect from officers. Mustangs are often limited in their career advancement because they weren't good enough to get a commission the "right" way.

Also, that dead lift test goes up to 290 pounds, but 160 is the qualifier.

Its recommended that you meet the qualification and conserve energy for the shuttle run.

Seems to me that OP isn't trying to become a General in the first place so I don't see what the issue is. The Army needs people like him.

For the physical preparation I go tho the gym and run a lot already, but I will practice more often, surely.
Yes, that's what I thought, I will search for practical skills.

You'll definitely need some sort of professional sensitivity training to help you make excuses for female soldiers that are failing to meet requirements so see if you can get a course that helps with that.

What country? Everone is assuming you are American when you're obviously not.

I agree with all of that, but the mustangs I've known saw discrimination right from the get-go. It can be hard just to get your 20, getting a star is a fucking miracle.

Noone in this thread is ever going to become a general so I don't see why you homos are even talking about that shit.
