ive owned a bunch, but right now i carry a FNS 9C and i really like it.

carried a S&W Shield for a while. it was fine.

carried a glock 43, i liked it but the magazine release always got depressed from the holster i used.

carried a heavy ass 3 gen S&W 4006. looked sweet but way too heavy.

carried a S&W bodyguard .38 special. i liked it but not as comfortable to carry.

i think for me the FNS is the sweet spot. its a small enough size to conceal carry but still holds 12 rounds in a standard mag and 17 in the extended one.

Got a new XD mod 2 Saturday. The original xd feels so amazing in the hand but the mod 2 is even better.

It's ugly as fuck though.

What state do you live in?

Glock 19 or 17, depends how big you are.

You'll thank me later.

Look up a gun range on your area one that sales and rents guns would be best.

Go there and let them know you are interested in buying. Often they will let you shoot most anything they carry.

I happen to like almost anything by Ruger but you hands and the weight of the gun as you hold or holster it will decide for you what is best.

Pic unrelated.

What are you wanting the gun for? Concealed carry, home defense, awesomeness, competitive shooting, ect?

Walther PPS

My first pistol was a Glock 19. I agree with this user; fantastic starter pistol. The best part is something most new gun owners never even think about: it's easy as hell to clean. Field strip and clean in 30 minutes most times, do a more thorough breakdown and clean out the firing pin every 1000 rounds and you're golden.

Not that I consider these replies invalid, or any less true, why would you come here instead of /k/?

>What vehicle should I get?
>Semi truck or prius?

Get more specific faggot

Budget?

/k/ is slow and boring, and gets these questions all the time so all there is is meme answers

This, shot berreta 92, 1911, glocks and a Springfield xdm, when I was at a shooting range. To me the Springfield xdm felt and shot the best. Now I carry a springfield xd mod 2

Smith and Wesson 1911

No

buy a wheel gun. 357, get comfortable and accurate with 38special, move up to 357. After you are comfortable and competent with that, you will then be better set to pick a carry gun

Shot... in the face... by accident

Why not because you don't have style? You going to go for a Kimber or a Glock? Kuh Kuh Kuh kill yourself.

Agree. Glock 19 is easy. Least recoil of any 9mm. Smooth easy slide. And you will be shooting tight groups. Very accurate. Have a gun smith install better sights though. Prob night sights. Hold up 30 mins to clean. Bro you are doing it wrong. More like 10.

Get a Glock and stfu

No

>Glock 19
>15 + 1 capacity (which if you are asking which gun to buy on Sup Forums... you need 16 chances to hit the nigger).
>9mm has basically the same wound channel as .380, .40, .357sig, even .45. Google search the image and see for yourself. There is practically no difference. Google the fucking picture.

22lr revolver.

Cheap, reliable, easy to use with low recoil, low ammo cost, sexy and quiet. You only need more stopping power if you're a shit shot.

If you get a Glock you are really the worst gun owner ever. Anyone who gets a Glock is a major tool.

I carry a Beretta 92fs and I could never be more happy with a handgun.

>t. Noguns

...

Fucking newfag

Or, you could post the picture in this thing called an IMAGEBOARD

Aaaaand, gun hipsters

You shouldn't be listening to any responses yet because nobody has asked you:
What do you want to do with it?

glock 19 for casket and flower moves

I'd have to google it, save it, then upload it. And it is almost 3am. fuck that. I'm jacking to trap porn and call it a night. He is the one that interested, let him party on Google. Fucking new generation lazy fucking kids with their gay shit.

Heh. I like to be thorough and mine has a ton of use. ~15,000 rounds lifetime; I definitely baby it a little.

Glock 30s w/Glock 21 mags = 14 rds of bear stopping fun.
Also get the xgrip magazine attachement

More like you realize there are many better guns for cheaper.

Like what?

Every other gun brand ever made?

arizona

You didn't answer the question. Be specific

You got boxed ammo?

overall practice and conceal carry

Many of these guns have compact and subcompact versions. (For concealed carry unless you want to deal with a full sized gun)
Start from there. Go to a gun store and finger fuck a bunch of guns and rent them if you can. Find one you like and shoot well

Px4 Subcompact 9mm or Sig 238

In all honesty, OP... Go to a reputable gun store. Tell them that you want to buy your first handgun, and would like to talk to an instructor. The instructor will help you find what you need.

Don't listen to these faggots, although I agree with a lot of them. A good firearm fits you just like a good suit. Get a tailor.

Recently took a pic of my Sig P226. Been finding a lot of reasons to post it. Here's another.

I'd look at the glock 23 personally. A barrel change will get you to both 9mm and .357 sig, which gives you lots of flexibility. You can buy a .22lr conversion kit as well. Leo's use .40 s&with, so it's effective. The size is small enough to carry comfortably, but it isn't so small that your bottom fingers fall off the grip.

Plus, glock are pretty reliable.

For a first pistol though, you should always consider the one you shoot the best with above all else.

This is honestly the best advice you'll get on here but be prepared to get told to buy the same stuff you've heard already. The key is to shoot many handguns in one setting, preferably side by side to compare. Buy the one you're most comfortable with.

Smith & Wesson .500

My nigga. Whereabouts?

Magnum Research BFR in 45/70

you have a 226 too
;_; put it away m8 we're being bullied right now
youtube.com/watch?v=LuPOqDlaX6U

What is your purpose for owning the gun? Different models fufill better different jobs.

I live in California so we have the 10 round magazine limit. I was going to get the Smith and Wesson M&P shield 9mm, would you recommend it for a first gun?

cz 75 10mm

If it ain't a colt it's a copy

...

Glock 19 or Sig P320C.

If you decide to change later on these are very easy to resell. A used Glock is also a nice option.

Not guy hating on glock, I think there great guns. He does have a point on the cheaper subject. Sccy cpx in 9mm great gun cheap and made with a polymer grip but a steel slide check it out.

Glock turbo or baretta glock is good for first time buyers

So far my favorite pistol is my USP compact in 9mm, really great pistol

Beautiful pistol user I would like one day in .45

Don't buy anything made by Taurus. Especially the PT24/7. The are dangerous and they might try to sell you one at a giant discount to get rid of the POS.

youtube.com/watch?v=C9_YWNo1f-o

Fucking Taurus. It only exists to this day because they share a monopoly with IMBEL on weapons in Brazil. They rely on buying off politicians and influential people so that their market share remains untouched by foreing companies.

If You Own a Taurus Pistol A Settlement Has Been Proposed in a Class Action Lawsuit that Alleges Safety Defects

multivu.com/players/English/7650451-taurus-pistol-proposed-class-action-settlement/

PT-111 Millennium; PT-132 Millennium; PT-138 Millennium; PT-140 Millennium; PT-145 Millennium; PT-745 Millennium; PT-609; PT-640; and PT-24/7

first handgun? .22LR
anyone that has never had a handgun (i'm assuming since you are asking on Sup Forums, you are a fucking idiot that has never shot a handgun before), you need to start with the minimo, .22LR. i'm not even sure you could handle that. you might want to go with a fucking BB gun

I think a .22 would get old after the first day for an adult. This little girl shows you everything you need to know about the .22 pistols.

i've got more than a few Taurus handguns and i have no problems with any of mine. pistols and revolvers. but i do know that lawyers are a big problem. this reeks of fucking lawyer.

Any compact Walther, Glock, Sig, FN or low-end HK. Pick them up and see what you like the most.

9mm is a great starter caliber

I wouldn't recommend a sub-compact to a beginner because of the recoil.

>I think a .22 would get old after the first day for an adult

then you obviously aren't a gunner. i've been shooting .22 since i was a kid and it still hasn't got old. and i don't take lessons from children, i give them lessons.

glock 19

fuck you, glock 23.

>Smith & Wesson .500

Of course OP should not get any of the high power revolvers or guns. Those are for people that like to spend a lot of money and have strong wrists. Very impractical for a brand new shooter.

Here Hickok makes some salad with one.

One of the common 9mm is fine for what OP wants.

I don't buy 1911s with series 80 bullshit

Nah son

i've got two 20s and two 22s, his and hers for me and my wife. i used to not like glocks, but the third gens brought me around and i like the fourth gens even better. i carry my glock or my S&W 329 exclusively under my field jacket in the winter, easy to conceal under that big coat.

9mm is more effective

I live in california.

>+p

you fuck.

>I live in california.

Not a problem. The gun store can fill you in on any special horse shit and get you a nice gun. CA people just have to go through more hoops.

I don't wanna live no more.

>dem trips....

anyone have the kel-tec 2000 that uses the glock magazines?

What I am saying is, I have a glock 23. I am limited to 10 rounds, I want more joules per mag.

Ca fag here. Buy a px4 storm 9mm. Super reliable light weight with a soft kick and looks stunning. Its about 600-750 though but its so worth it.

get a taurus judge man. shoots both a 45. and a 410 shotgun shell in a pistol! basically a pistol and a handheld shotgun in one!!

It honestly depends on what handgun that you want.
Some suggestions would be a FN 5-7, M1911 (always a classic.)
However if you are looking for more stopping power get yourself a .357 or a .44
Failing that get a .500 Nitro.

I was heartset on a 40s&w but went with 9mm. So glad ammo is way cheaper and you get more of it. Several gun stores kept telling me 9s are better and I pretty much agree with them and everyone else on /k

Scary that it's a Taurus but it looks Hella fun!

Not sure it's a beginner gun though.

What do you want one for? Range, protection or cc

>Your fruit killing skills are excellent

>Range, protection or cc

I have a Sig P320C and it does all those fine. Many of the 9mm guns are very versatile.

> gunner
everything you're saying reeks of /k/. gtfo

aww, does the voice of reason bug you? poor little

>I live in california.

Dat unloaded chamber indicator...

>logical but boring choice
glock

>logical but less boring choice
S&W

>flashier choice
92s, 1911

>the Sup Forums choice for the upcoming race wars
ruger

>the old man choice
S&W revolvers

>the hipster choice
2 shot derringer

>the 13 y/o gun expert choice
D. eagle

>hipster
>firearm
They'd end up with a tazer at best

>1911, ruger, S&W revovlers

i'll take em all, i see no problem here

My favorite in my collection is my Springfield XD .45 Sub-compact great for conceal carry and will knock down anything. Only accurate up to about 50 feet but anything further you really need more than a handgun anyways

A grenade launcher is good
