A brilliant strategist

>a brilliant strategist

why not just order your men into a tight phalanx or spear wall? also he fucked up by marching in a column and in a line with archers up front, spears, then infantry. the archers retreat behind the spears when the enemy gets too close. its like theyve never played total war.

They should have flanked from both sides of the forest

BEND THE KNEE

Burn the forest down

Where the fuck did the Boltons get that army? The other northern houses weren't even there yet.

They should have all been a bunch of green boys and old men that Stannis could dispatch easily.

CREEEEEEEEEED

Wait, wrong meme

>ramsay looks up
>his therapist is now azor ahai

TWENTY

why are the armies/number counts in got/asoiaf so fucking shit? 200 man armies? wtf is this shit?

I think it was the mercenary army that deserted Stannis

the show has such a blatant disrespect for logistics and numbers. first stannis starts off with 100k when he saved castle black, but he only ends up with ~5000 or less by the time they reach winterfell? and where did boltons army come from? winterfell holds like 50 ppl.

also stay in the woods. the trees will help break up cavalry formations. low hanging branches will knock men from horses, foot solders can hide behind trees, ect..

>lost all hope
>men are starving, weak
>20 good men destroy your food/supplies
>sell swords take all your horses and half your army
>Your loyal men look to you for leadership
>You know there's no turning back.

ywn see Stannis forth eorlingas into bolton shits ;_;
ywn see Renly come back from the dead and admit he was a total shit and gallop with the Tyrells yelling "To the King"

Stannis in the end became Denethor when he should have been Theoden

Trees are too far behind them. Cavalry would catch Stannis' men-at-arms as they turn and run to get back into the woods.

>200 man armies? wtf is this shit?

That's about the size of a Company. Basically, the equivalent of the crowd for a small town high school football game.

A fire team of 3-5 soldiers is the most basic unit
There are 2-4 teams in a squad
There are 2-4 squads in a platoon
There are 2-6 platoons in a company
There are 2-6 companies in a battalion
There are 2-5 battalions in a brigade
There are 2-4 brigades in a division

Numbers of soldiers:
Fireteam: 4-5
Squad: 8-16
Platoon: 25-60
Company: 70-250
Battalion: 300-1000
Brigade: 3000-5000
Division: 10,000-20,000

>You know there's no turning back.

That's when you reassess not act like a poorly written GoT character.

thats why they shouldnt have left the woods at all. their scouts should have seen that huge cavalry force coming

fuck they should have heard it

how the fuck did the boltons get all those horses

Why hasn't the GoT universe discovered gun powder yet?

Canons have been around since 1260.

They all joined Ramsay after he set them on fire
