>“Advertiser-friendly content is content that’s appropriate for all audiences. It has little to no inappropriate or mature content in the video stream, thumbnail, or metadata (such as in the video title). If the video does contain inappropriate content, the context is usually newsworthy or comedic and the creator’s intent is to inform or entertain (not offend or shock)”

The page goes on to list some content that may be considered inappropriate for advertising. Most of them are vague, arbitrary and could easily be abused:

“Content that is considered “not advertiser-friendly” includes, but is not limited to:

Sexually suggestive content, including partial nudity and sexual humor
Violence, including display of serious injury and events related to violent extremism
Inappropriate language, including harassment, profanity and vulgar language
Promotion of drugs and regulated substances, including selling, use and abuse of such items
Controversial or sensitive subjects and events, including subjects related to war, political conflicts, natural disasters and tragedies, even if graphic imagery is not shown”

Here’s the penalty that YouTube hands out if you are found guilty of any of these:

“If any of the above describes any portion of your video, then the video may not be approved for monetization. If monetization is approved, your video may not be eligible for all available ad formats. YouTube reserves the right to not monetize a video, as well as suspend monetization features on channels that repeatedly submit videos violating our policies.”

Its a company that can do what it wants with censorship.

Its like if you came to my house and said you loved nigger dick. You have every right to love nigger dick but I have every right to tell your nigger dick loving ass to get the fuck off my property because i don't want to hear it.

The only people that are worried are the neckbeards and countless reaction channels.
Worst case scenario is that there ad revenue will dry up and they will have to get a big boy job.

Either they will concede some portion of that, or fail to enforce it, or leave window wide open for a competing video site to grab up a chunk of their market share.

Companies have the right to violate basic human rights?

So I guess you would have no problem with factories employing child laborers and paying them basically nothing?

This isn't a human rights issue. Freedom of speech only covers what the government can do about the things you say. Youtube being private company not bound by that.

Youtube is a trash and cancer pool nowadays. Let it rot and decay....

I can kick you out of my house for saying anything i don't approve of.

A privately owned company can do the same thing.

What youtube is doing isn't a violation of anything, they have the right to censor whatever they want. They are their own company.
If you post tits on a blue board on this site you will be banned. That is censorship. It isnt violating any human rights.

Go back to school

"big boy job"
>working for the man for $9 an hour

these people have millions of dollars. they don't need a job anymore

You're right. They are doing nothing illegal here. Their site, their rules. If they wanted to make it so that only nazi propaganda could be posted then they legally can.

When was the last time Sup Forums invaded YouTube with porn videos?

Sopa/pipa was a bill that dealt with privately owned Internet companies, why didn't you defend them? If they're the ones providing the inyernet, they have a right to control it.

I never commented on it. Private companies can do whatever they like. If they want to make a bad decision and lose their consumer base, that's on them. There will always be a competitor looking to increase their consumer base.

But there is no competition to YouTube aside from vimeo
Nor is there competition to ISP's, if the bill passed, all ISP's could throttle their speeds.
YouTube wouldn't lose their users due to it being the only platform like it, it's run by google for Christ's sake, the only conceauence is they might lose a bit of money, even a couple million is a drop in the bucket for them. They are working on self driving cars, Web browsers, they own one of the largest search engines in the world, their api is integrated Into almost everything, they could technically be considered a monopoly.

>it's like you come to my house...

No it's more like you give me content which I make money off of, and I pay you nothing for it because you said "nigger"

Adding on, I know they're a company and they can do whatever the fuck they want, I'm just being a whiney faggot and voicing my discontent on the Internet. You can throw my opinion in the trash for all I care.
