No one is seeing the big picture. Look at the political situation in the US, look at the mess in the middle east, youtube being censored, rising cost of living in any sector you can think of, your dollar being more and more worthless day by day, the control of pharmaceutical companies, police brutality, the list goes on.. We as people are being squeezed of all freedom and yet apparently I'm just some crazy conspiracy theorist. How much oppression can you take before you realize whats going on? How much will you need to be pushed before you stand up and do something about it? Take a look at history. The rich run the world. They always have. And they will continue to treat you like slaves until you say "enough is enough".
I may be going a little too far, but I think we need to give rise to a new breed of terrorism. Terrorism that involves killing and scaring the people who are in control. The corrupt leaders, politicians, lawyers, CEOs, bankers, etc. Why do terrorists attack the 99%? We know full well that the 99% have no control, and that terrorism against the people gives the corrupt more power. I'll be honest, I never thought myself to be an extremist, but I would actually gladly give my own life in a suicide bombing, if it meant it would send a message. A real message. One that said "If you are a corrupt greedy piece of shit who makes life difficult for others, you deserve death" If I could trade my life to make the world a better place by getting rid of these vermin, I would. We need someone to stand up and start a real terrorism group like this.

Basically, dickhead, its less about people waking up and more about realising YOU as a single, can do absolutely nothing to stop the machine.
Telling people they cant see the big picture and trying to show how enlightened to it all you are, isnt helpful and is counter productive.
Now, tell us what your REAL plans for change are, instead of being a postulating internet superhero.
Cooper Watson
Just call yourself a patriot, you dumbshit. You live in a country that gives you the constitutional right to rebel against your government with armed force. Why do you think they had to use advertising techniques to rebrand it as "terrorism" over the last 16 years?
Christian Sanchez
>You live in a country that gives you the constitutional right to rebel against your government with armed force. lol no in what world are you living.
Leo Baker
There are two choices. One is to work with the machine and find the path of least resistance. Or two sacrifice yourself in an attempt to shake and destroy the machine. Which is the best choice? I do not have the answer.
Gabriel Bennett
I'm playing the game, maybe if I checked in on lucy more often I wouldn't think this way.
Oliver Jones
I don't know what people think the people on top are actually doing with their lives. The answer is nothing. Your dissatisfaction with being powerless isn't something that curbs with money or influence, and if it does, you're nothing but a power hungry fool. No one controls you - stop acting like your life is shit because of someone else. You have more than enough freedom to do what you want to do.
Joshua Richardson
whats incorrect about the statement? Do you live in the US?
You can get a gun, and you can shoot at government officials. There really is nothing stopping that for you, and your second amendment constitutional right ensures this for you.
It doesn't guarantee you will: Win, affect change, or anchor support for your cause.

It's the system that's flawed not really corrupt individuals. There needs to be a paradigm shift and change to society as a whole. I don't know how this will come about but it will probably happen eventually.
Josiah Flores
not everybody realizes it. it's worth just spewing because of some user that might read this and actually attempt to enlighten themself

It doesn't take long to add things up, even by the most uneducated standards. I cant speak for america, im not american. BUT
Where I come from, its a two party system masquerading as a democracy. It's become that bad, we actually haven't had what you could call a genuine election in nearly 10 years.
Bank prices are propped by the government, who inturn flips the issue onto the banks, so the people get angry.
More liberal shit is introduced to give everyone the happy be feelgoods, and make you feel warm and fuzzy, but what they do give with the left hand, they snatch up with the right.
You figure that shit out REALLY quick, when you work minimum wage, trying to scrape and save to get out of the rent cycle and into the ownership cycle.
Its very apparent that it doesnt work and its all controlled, but the reality is, by the time the realisation sets in, youve already started down the path with everyone else. Its too HARD to turn back, and if you do, your pissing into the wind.
So most people just nut up, shut up, and go do their job.
Rage all you like, but people aren't stupid. They've been beaten into submission. Its not their fault, they aren't blind to it. THEY ARE JUST POWERLESS TO STOP IT.
And its genuinely annoying when the youngest, the ones that have done nothing yet, gained nothing, or not experienced it, come out with their fresh college ideals, thinking they know how it all works, and everyone else just needs to be told how.
No, you actually have to have things. Things like a plan, things like backing, things like maturity and popular support. None of these things you can gain, without making deals, trade offs and exchanging with OTHER people in power, to achieve your outcome.
Once you make a trade off, any trade off, your message is lost, and you join the machine.
So go on, tell us again how we are all stupid and youve got it all figured out.
Parker Mitchell

It seems to me that people only identify these problems with the world on the surface level, never delving into the finer details and aspects down to the root cause of the problem Like i get that everything is fucked up but not why and therefore not how to solve the problem either
Joseph Torres
Cannot solve what the reigning owners do not want you to solve.
System has been carefully set up over many centuries to prevent exactly that.
Evan Smith
Maybe then it would be a good idea to support the people that have not yet fallen into said trap. That dare think outside of set boundaries, instead of ridiculing them. Scientific process usually wasn't the result of people quietly agreeing to the status quo and trying to amend it. It was caused by people refusing existing ideas and thinking outside of the known system and expected answers.
Carter Phillips
This is more helpful in the rest of the context of Be Here Now, lol
Luis Garcia
So the dream is to have the house paid off, no debt, and things to occupy your time that don't inhibit the enjoyment of others?
William White
Nobody is ridiculing them. Just remember this moment though, remember how you feel. Because you will be carrying it with you, your entire life, once you start on the journey. Every day that you put your nose on that grind stone, just to pay rent, buy overpriced food, pay for expensive heating or gas, etc.
The only way to get it to stop, is to have everyone to reject the system, at the same time. All at once.
This would mean people would immediately need to give up their comforts, their housing, their daily distractions, their tv, their alcohol, their drugs, their safety net and security.
It isnt going to happen. It never will. Your angry now, because you realise the exact same that EVERY young, entitled person realises, before they move out of the nest and into the big scary bad world.
But the reality is, once your out there fully, doin it by yourself, YOU won't be able to give up those comforts either. And you'll work for them to retain them.
And youll roll your eyes, shake your head and just apathetically go back to sleep the same way that every other human being does.
Angel Nelson
And I believe there should be a place, where people of like mind gather and who are ready to give up those comforts to fight against the system.
Levi Allen
No personally, but its what the majority of all, if not everyone shoots for.
Because you realise as you get older, and more feeble, that you wont be able to keep renting, and your going to need shelter to say, stop dying, keep living, hopefully procreate, all that fun stuff.
Its all well and good to say nah, i dont need that. But the reality is, you do. You can slum it on the cheap, rent all your life, or never take out that loan, but the reality is, you wont have your creature comforts, or a good choosing of partner (if any) to share that with.
When it comes down to it, Id much rather be spending my time creating art, taking drugs and supporting people that need help, like the elderly or the disadvantaged.
But the reality is, Im a souless cog, in a huge machine, who can only turn one way..... with the rest of the machine.
Turn the other way, and you grind gears, and get replaced.
Enjoy.
Luke Gomez

Ethan Harris
There are plenty of places like that.
Chose any third world country you like. You know, the ones without a stable economy, security, food or clean water.
You can go there, meet and discuss all you like, like I said earlier, rally, gather people/resources and affect change.
Youll likely just find though that most people accept it as pointless, because the systems of control will never let anyone achieve those things.
And why the fuck not? If you were at the top, in that 1 percent, you would understand the agenda, where your trying to take it, and why you want to control it.
Gavin Lewis
I've finally found a place where I am happy, where I can enjoy being a part of the machine because after a long search I found a profession that is perfect for me. Even so I feel like I want to help others, and fix the system..
Gabriel Scott
Well, I don't believe that you have to get everyone to reject the system at once. Sure there will have to come a point where everybody decides to get rid of it. But that doesn't mean you can't induce incremental changes to get there. You're acting as though all civil liberties were won in a single movement.
Nonetheless I understand what you mean by going back to sleep. But don't you believe it would be better to encourage those people to stay awake? They may not have a realistic solution for the current situation, but at least they'll give people something to work towards. I'm pretty sure democracy weren't founded by chance one day, a lot of.people pondered about the possibility of their existence, before actually trying it.

Jesus fuck.... the last 20 years have seen the largest redaction of civil liberties and everything the movement fought for gone down the drain.
Everything's monitored, everything is reported on. Its all been pre prepared and cookie cuttered for you. Your flooded with news and information 24/7 to prevent you from ever really being informed, its all sterile and covered by PC bullshit, under the guise of equalities, but it just creates more tension.
You cant change something that has been going on for centuries slowly, bit by bit, over time..... It has to be a complete rejection of the system. The 99 percent HAS to say, in the words of howard beale, IM MAD AS HELL AND IM NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE. The one percent wont allow incremental change that removes power from them. They will just move forward, and divert all flow back to them down the track.
It has to be a complete rejection, otherwise the the ruling class wont pay attention.

preach man. Glad someone could say it better than myself. Im only 24 and I feel like this reality gets hammered in a little more every day. Its so hard to have a hardline with your ideals without inadvertantly submitting to the status quo in the process
ever seen a punk rocker make it far in congress and affect policy? No, because alienating yourself from the status quo from that degree also alienates your level of influence. You gotta play their game to affect anything, and by that point alot of people forget what the objective was
Dylan Moore
Just try and overthrow the system, motherfucker. Labeling yourself as a terrorist will only strengthen the resolve of the masses to obey, and tighten the grip those in power already have over all of us.
The Declaration of Independence was drafted and singed in secrecy, then the war began. The founding fathers knew that if they were discovered they'd be crushed. Do the same.
James Perry
I would more say that they are just as resentful for being here as anyone else. They just know that the "youth" wont do a fucking thing.
The "youth" are the people who exchange right and liberties for "innovation and change" not realising that the old guard is using all that innovation and change to actually impact on everyone worse than the previous generation.
And when you hit the middle age bracket, and see the next generation doing the next monumentally stupid move, (im guessing something like digital ID/passport or imbedded chip instead of carrying that clunky mobile phone will be the next huge privacy issue) promise you wont act surprised, or lash out the same way as this old (once caring) fart.
Owen Perry
do it faggot. we have your message. now act.

I don't know, things like voting, democracies, being allowed to talk about these things. A somewhat objective scientific communities. These aren't things that just happened people fought and died for them. It's not like there has been absolutely no change in human society that would be more advantageous to poor or average individuals than the rich folk. The way we work today, workplace safety, consumer safety, the law in general. Were ideas create to protect the many from the will of the few. They may not work perfectly or have been turned into a husk of their initial form. But it's still a major change that was not welcome by the so leading elite. You don't think they'd be happier owning half the population as slaves, instead of having to brainwash them into complacency? > you either built a car, or you don't > there is no inventing an engine
Jason Martin
Think to the start of civilization, why did we collect ourselves? For protection and security to give us the latitude to do things that we want. Not everyone wanted to be a fisherman, but most people wanted to eat fish, so the fisherman had a job. Not everyone wanted to be a scribe, but there were those willing to write down our histories, etc. Well now we've got so many petty specializations that we've forgotten that we are still need the same essentials: water, food, 4 walls and a roof, and human interaction. We can go without these for small amounts of time, but you'll always need to cater to them. the root question is how can you do those things with any level of dignity and not absolutely enslave ourselves to the machine.
Well, the sad truth is you can't have Facebook without small kids manufacturing computer chips cheaply enough so that there becomes a demand for Facebook. You can't have a lot of things, actually. What around you will even last 10 years? 50 years? Your body, hopefully. Your house? Maybe, but maybe not you might move. Your car? Fat chance, you've ditched that "clunker" for something new and shiny, right? Everything you consume in eyesight is just one more cog in the machine designed to keep you, the most important cogs, in your place. And it isn't a matter of being young or inexperienced, but a matter of not choosing to join the machine. Your lifetime is enough time for them to get all they need out of you.
No one born into it chooses to join it, we just get lumped in with our parents, and then the great appeal to inertia takes us for the rest of the way until we die. We want the TV with the car and the house and the blah blah blah consumerism. Humanity lost something on its collective journey, and it was the growing feeling of content with the status quo, of the things and products in our lives being enjoyable enough that we not only keep up with the joneses.....1/2
Luis Anderson
>Pic related Try and free the people, and see where we end up in twenty years.
Owen Foster
......2/2 but that we actually think it will make us better if we stay in the race long enough.
And that's why the takeover of marketing, when we have to be told what we might like instead of just saying no, is the saddest part of it all. The conditioning it causes is crippling humanity, but we have simply stopped caring. Even now as I type this, it's a cog in the machine that anyone reading this message is automatically a part of, whether you chose it or not. That's the issue that wracks my brain the most, what I get that absolute pain from: I didn't choose to be inside this, and I want out so desperately that I aspire to leave the first world, have no steady job, and become so lost in what little remains of nature that I forget all about the cogs and the levers and the gears and the whole machine.
The bottom line is you can't escape unless you leave, and you better have your shit figured out because there is no coming back to this. This is hell. This is where souls go to die. This reality, this constant worship of big business, even indirectly, is death. It kills me. It kills you. And it will kill humanity. Because without your soul, are you really human? What you live for you die for, and I have a creeping sensation that too late humanity will realize that what they have so desperately lived for they don't even want.
James Young
I'm more concerned about the status of the environmental impact the machine has on the rock we live on. I really hope the global elite do their duty and continue to make an effort to be cohesive with nature, but also continue to try to make quality of the lives of the 99% a little more intriguing,
Adrian Cook
That's a good joke.

>Voting - Constantly rigged, behind and infront of the scenes. >Democracy - You can have A or B. There is no C and if you try to introduce it, A+B take you down. >Scientific community - Take today, climate change. Is it real, is it not? The debate has been going on in the "community" for 20+ years, and the person paying the most usually gets their point forward first and loudest.
People fought and died for these things, sure. But the can and have been corrupted and propped up as an illusion.
The way we work? More safety, slower, consumer law, in general. It is more than desirable than to slow things down. If you can get 99 percent of your slaves doing the one task, in perpetual monotony, youve got it made, thats endgame.
Anything that slows process, but creates more time wasted and dollars spent is perfect outcome. Hell, you can see that in politics today, look at the bills decreasing steadily every year. Less shit is passed, more confusion, more slow down.
These points you raise, they work exactly the same way against your argument. The system is perfection and so it should be, control has been honed and refined ever since the introduction of the monetary unit.
Add that with the inescapable greed of man, that one guy that always wants the shiner toilet seat, the ivory back scratcher, that one thing better than everyone else. Capitalism encourages you to step on everyones head on the way up, and not to give a second thought for those on the bottom.
Discuss all you like, but its merely that, discussion. It never goes anywhere and youll soon join the fray, like every other poor bastard.
Julian Clark
And yet the marxist/communists did so much better, right?
Ryder Rogers
Nope. Did I say it did? Where did I make mention of that.
Do I think its wrong to segregate off into smaller communities, keep power local and structured, in the hands of the people that make day to day change? No.... but do I think marxism/communism works? No as well, it clearly does not.
But go on, use your ad hominem to try and somehow discredit me? I mean, I basically admit that Im in this just as much as everyone else, and am just as apathetic to change, but sure, sticking the knife in could help too, eh?
Or is it that you just ran out of ways to refute?
Asher Cruz
So, in your opinion we should just get rid of anything that helps support the average person? Its not like it makes a difference if you're a wage slave or an actual slave. It's not like people would be using toxic chemicals if no one told them not to. I mean if we come down to it, why should we even be allowed to exchange ideas, it doesn't matter.
You might be disillusioned and don't think that anything can have any effect on the status quo, but I bet that's what those same serves said before their kingdoms got overthrown.
I don't want to claim that positive change hasn't been attacked and reverted, but there will always be people that work and put themselves in dangers for the rights of others and the prospect of peaceful collaborating world.
Of course the most effective tool to prevent this, is to instill the idea that it can not possibly happen. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever. So don't even consider starting today working on a better world decades or centuries from now. We all know change is like a switch, there are no movements that need to pick up speed. There are no believes that have to be spread among the population to engage them.
Also, I don't believe in the natural greed of humans. How would you explain selfless acts who's sole recompensation comes in the form of social recognition. Nevertheless we've been told that money is the best and all other humans will try to exploit us for it for quite some time, so it's not surprising people believe it.
Finally capitalism does indeed reward somewhat negative traits and tendencies as well as constantly attack the foundation of law and democracy, so maybe we should think about changing our economic system.
Gabriel Ward
Itt a seventeen year old grasps something the rest of us have been fully aware of for the majority of our lives.
Killing yourself proves nothing no matter how you do it. The rich can afford to forget about your death pretty much instantaneously. There's no shocking and immediate way to hault a system that's been in place since the dawn of society. Even if you do, they'll just build a new system.
Carter Walker
If it pains you so much, just live in some kind of farm squat ala The Crass style and try and get your shit together. Being a punk is the greatest thing if you need to put some distance between yourself and the machine.... just realize that you will have to play ball eventually unless you want your contributions to our betterment to be very personal and inconsequential in nature
Isaac Lewis
As I've been saying for the past hour, you can try and be the big shake up that'll change society as a whole, but it just wont happen. It's too ingrained in people, like you said, and as I was trying to say, going out a blowing yourself up for your cause is nothing but a waste of a free thinker. If there was a way to fix it I'd say it'd be this; create your own, free society, just look at how colonies of hippies o the like are viewed by the common Americans, odd, misfits and delusional, you can't convince the masses of what you/I believe because it's been instilled in them since birth. The matrix is real; it's just that instead of a computer simulation it's reality, and we're slaves to rich men, not machines. Also, just like in the matrix, those who could see through the facade were a minority within a minority.
Jack Long

I agree. The rich are gaining too much control. It's fucking terrifying.
But instead of being completely retarded about it, why don't we start protesting at places that matter, like outside of senators and congressmens homes, instead of places where they DO NOT care.
We have to make them worry. They all know what they're doing wrong, but they can comfortably hide behind guises and lies.
Change starts from within. If you have friends and family who are soldiers, cops, rich, in positions of considerable power, it is quite literally your duty to tell them to fucking change. Make it socially unacceptable to participate in this bullshit any longer.
And if even then these things don't work, then maybe it is time for 'change'.
Julian Gomez
This guy gets it >exactly! Why do terrorists target innocent civilians and not the politicians who order their countries to be bombed.why do they nit target the rich who steal their resources >call me stupid but I always thought Muslims hated Jews, they must not as they're never targeted
Jose Kelly
So basically occupy?
That turned out well.
Chase Bennett
Yeah no that wont work. If you try and solicit people who hold power and just shake them and tell them to "fucking change", all youre really doing is perpetuating a bigger divide amongst ourselves, because they will literally run to the other side of the spectrum just so they dont have to hear your shit.
Unforunately, change has to be coerced and blended with everyone elses position slowly in order to take hold.
Do you think you could just convince a town of fundamentalists to accept gays and legal marijuana, for instance? By fucking changing them? You just try to hold on to your bottom lines the best you can and hope that your will dosent become subverted under the weight of everyone elses ulterior motives

You are right. There is a problem. But until it starts to directly affect the "middle class" or "old guard political churchies" there isn't much outside blatant violence that we can do. "Occupy" didn't work, sorry but shutting down traffic just pisses people off.
Change will come. But it's gonna get a lot worse before the people get a legit chance to stand up for themselves and fight back. Just for most, things aren't bad enough for them yet. But it will be. Remember though:

It's worked in my life many times. I've seen people I personally know "change sides", if we're putting it that way.
Changing from within works because it's someone they know (you) personally. My parents have wealth, I've helped them see what power they have for change. I've had friends who were or are soldiers, but they now realize how fucked up being a soldier really is. A peon for greed. Awesome.
Why do you think education is fucking impossible to get in this country for so many? It's easier to control the complacent.
LSD has forever opened me to a different way of thinking about the world. I was complacent, but that got me nowhere. If 250 million of the 380 million US citizens slowly began to change their ideals, things would change.
Unless you have billions, or an army, we cannot incite change quickly.

this is accurate. There is a level of apathy that they try to maintain in most people. Things are not bad enough for most people to get off their asses and really do anything about it. The system is rigged to protect itself and the people know it. >also, they want us to feel like it's impossible to challenge it, which they have succeeded in doing
tl;dr: most people don't care enough yet because it doesn't affect them (or at least they don't think it doesn't)
Also: >motherfuckers they have drones. the people are a bit out gunned anyway.
