I'm looking for something I can easily make powerpoint on, will run all the crome shit, and will most importantly not die after doing these things for three years. Been looking at the surface pro, but I donknow jack shit honestly.

There's a lot of things that call themselves "cromebooks." Is the pro-4 worth going for as opposed to a pro-3. How much better is the i7 to i5?

Well for powerpoint and just chrome. the i5 will be more than enough because its a quad-core. The more cores there are, the more tasks (known as threads) can be served at the same time.
Some good brands are Asus and Lenovo imo
You wouldn't happen to have a link to some models that you think are good? I'm of course not looking to spend a ton of money because I wont be gaming on this.
Surface Pro 3 will do more than enough, with the i3 and 4gb ram, if you're just running those 2 programs.

There's another program called "real time" I'll be running, its something that's used to connect teachers with the school district, their lesson plans, and the student's parents. It's a processing load.

Good amount of ram. 2.16ghz processor will be good for loads, HDMI output and 13in screen so you can actually see stuff.
Now there is one thing about some chromebooks: You cant install Microsoft Office but rather, use Microsoft Office Online (an online version of Microsoft Office) for free.
