Is this the 2001 of our generation?

Is this the 2001 of our generation?

ya

No, bvs is actually good

This.

stop, please fucking STOP. Just a heads up BvS is a shit movie. Do not fall for the meme, yes its well shot, but that's fucking it. It lacks substance, a good story. Basically every element required for a good movie. Again this is a warning DO NOT FALL FOR THE MEME. I repeat DO NOT FALL FOR THE MEME.

these threads are getting old

can we stop with this "dan snyder films are good" meme

if he's the men of steal, how come he isn't robot

think about

really makes you think

2001 is 2001
BvS is BvS

ye
It could take years of spoonfeeding the general audience for them to realize the truth.

>tfw no Superman vs. Metallo movie
>tfw none of Superman's cool villains are ever in the movies

They'll exist for as long as capeshit is an entity in Hollywood. BvS is the flagship of the DCCU,The movie is at all times darker, more dramatic, and less fun than its marvel counterpart, making it the perfect antithesis to the MCU. This conflict creates a symbiosis...one can't exist without the other, and when one thread dies the other will shortly follow.

Was the Martha scene too complex for Reddit?

They keep complaining about "WHY DID IT STOP BATMAN FROM KILLING SUPERMAN" but it's pretty fucking obvious why

Synder even showed flashbacks in the exact same fucking scene to hammer it into the audiences head and they still didn't get it

You mean overrated shit ?

everyone understands why.

It's just stupid.

>le bvs isn't dogshit meme
Reddit pls

No they didn't

It's just like all the symbolism and thematic undertones

Patricians find it and then plebs that didn't pick up on it or understand say "W-Well I totally understood and saw that too but it's still shit"

how are they going to use bats during the big battles. I didnt enjoy watching batman stand there helpless in the final fight against doomsday

>actually falls for the patrician/plebeian dichotomy meme
>wants to be taken seriously

Ironic shitposting is still shitposting

HD TORRENT WHEN?

>tfw you're the one killing the industry

>It's just stupid.

Explain how.

I dunno. Why didn't the movie look like that poster?

WHEN IS THE FUCKING WEBRIP REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
eee

It's obvious and apparent facts treated as revelation. Yes of course Superman has a mother. Everyone on earth knows he has lived on earth his entire life. The Zod broadcast in MoS has made this clear.

It's "we're the same, you and I" taken to a ridiculous level. It's amateurish filmmaking and scriptwriting 101 mistaken for craft and high art.

it's definitely the 9/11 of our generation

Hi Disney

>yes its well shot
We'll convert you heathens one step at a time.

>t-the people who hate just didn't understand it it's totally a good movie the best of its time
People actually take capeshit seriously, huh

hi marvelcuck! (redditor)

True but I still think a nigh-invincible figure telling you to save your "mother" is reason enough to a mentally traumatised vigilante pause.

>stop, please fucking STOP
You should STOP browsing this site

The literally same people who hate 2001 hate BvS so that is one point for it.

He says that, unironically, while posting a picture of Zack Snyder wearing a super moustache t-shirt

sure if 2001 was shit

Yes, but the phrasing makes no goddamn sense. Suddenly Superman is referring to his mother by her first name?

Symbolism and subtext don't work on their own or else that's all they are. They have to work within the context they are presented to be effective otherwise a line like "you have to save Martha" is just ham-handed amateur wordplay.

Yeah...but the way they immediately become friends is VERY dumb

Seemed to me like Supes was giving an identity, but Batman's foot made the Kent jumbled.

Meh, I could live with it.

so mucb pleb

You mean a boring, pretentious that people think is deep? Yes

Batman doesnt know who Clark Kent is

Whats your next complaint withthe scene? Or is your list endless?

I like how in this post you called it obvious, but now in this post you pretty much admit to not understanding it

If that were the only reason, yes, that would be weak, but it's not the only reason. It's also his father's dying words. It was his father's example Bruce had been following most of his life - trying to be the hero and protector that his father tried but failed to be, so there's an element the whole Arthur/Ahab dichotomy in it.

Bruce is all armored up like a knight, pulling the whole "sword from the stone" bit with his k-spear, but at the moment of his victory, he realizes that the man he's beaten is far closer to the example his father's example than the obsessed hunter Bruce has let himself become. In that instant, Excalibur turns to Ahab's spear in his hands.

In disgust, self-loathing, and anger, he tosses the spear away.

>both praised by neckbeards
>both boring and pretentious
>both using meaningless symbolisms
>both try to be deep
Sounds about right

Bruce will find a way to make a difference. He even stopped one of Doomsday's electrosplosions in the final battle.

Cool story bro, but why did he call her Martha instead of my mother

>It lacks substance
false

you are trying too hard. You need to think like a DCuck

>saying for years "bvs will be the best movie ever".
>Mature capeshit, nothing like children movies like marvel does
>1.5 billion
>Even more, it will surpass avengers for sure
>reality
>...
>You people dont understand the symbolic meaning of the movie!

Go easy on them... they are really desperate.

Giving what identity? Just the name Martha doesn't narrow it down. "he's going to kill Martha Kent" or "you have to save Martha Kent" would have made sense.

There's two ways to interpret the scene. One is that Batman is overcome with empathy upon the revelation that Superman has a mother. This doesn't work because it's obvious that Superman has a mother. This shouldn't be any sort of revelation.

The second way is that hearing "find him, save Martha" snaps Batman out of his rage through the possibility of reaching catharsis by saving his own mother. "Save Martha" is what he wishes he could do when he was a child, "Martha" was his father's last words, (we know this because the movie shows the Wayne's murder AGAIN during this scene). I agree that in this interpretation, Batman's response kind of makes sense. He has the pretty standard "what have I become?" reaction though I think the Arthur comparison is weak since he's the one who put the spear in the cement in the first place.

The reason this doesn't work is the ham-handed way the script gets Superman to say "Martha". "Luthor has my mother" or "he is going to kill Martha Kent" make sense in the context of that scene, but Superman only referring to his own mother by her first name strains credibility. Remember, when Zod threatened his mother in Mos, Superman managed to call her "My mother" while he was beating Zod through the cornfield. It's clear that in his mind, she is "mother" to him, not Martha. It's a shitty way to get to a decent enough payoff.

Because he knows Bruce's story by that point. It's the last chance he had, and it worked, if only to rattle him long enough for Lois to get in and act as a human shield, completing the mental image of him having become the cold-blooded killer behind the "gun."

Admittedly, that all works far, far better if the audience is shown Clark making that connection, but I hold out hope that Clark's deleted investigation reveals that detail.

So he tried to manipulate Batman? Superman is beyond scummy

Gonna rewatch Man of Steel tonight, but I have a feeling it's going to be just a shitty the second time around.

I meant that he was saying Martha Kent

Go torrent the movie. He wasn't saying Martha Kent.

"you're letting him kill Martha" and "find him, save Martha" were the lines. There was no attempt at Kent.

/thread

But what if there was an attempt made? I believe there was.

Its already out on Kickasstorrents but we need blu-ray now.

>plebs actually like BvS
Get taste

I've literally watched it 5 times in the last 15 minutes. He doesn't attempt it.

...

>people complaining that the characters have no motivation even though there are many scenes where the character's motivations are delivered explicitly through dialogue (Lex) or a ton of unsubtle as fuck dream and flashback sequences AND dialogue (bruce)
>people complaining about NOT MUH COMICS when the characters have a thousand different iterations and spinoffs by hundreds of different writers
>people complaining it takes itself too seriously
>people complaining about the visuals when every Marvel movie aside from Ant-Man in parts and GotG all look like the same washed-out television movies they are

>4 BvS threads during Amerifat hours

Well at least I now know when dkeks start posting

So, start a Civil War thread.

Would you entertain the notion of it being up for interpretation?
