Emmanuel Lubezki's cinematography is the one redeeming factor in Tree of Life. Makes a mediocre story and half-assed symbolism and allegory into a GORGEOUS... mediocre story and half-assed symbolism and allegory.

Lubezki is a god among men. Master of the tracking shot, and beautiful camera work in general. Definitely a favorite.

...

Meanwhile, Deakins still gets the shaft. What is he at now, 13 nominations?

Cinematography is such a fucking joke

I got stunning, professional images by doing an hour or two of research and buying the right camera and lens.

revving up the dump truck

1/13

Deakins is DEFINITELY up there, too. Fantastic work from that man as well.

2/13

Where's your Oscar, chief?

3/13

>I can do that too
Talk shit post fit faggot

Good cinematography if more than just composition or tracking shots though. It's about how you can add information to the story being told through the camera.

4/13

>It's about how you can add information to the story being told through the camera.

ABSOLUTELY THIS

pic related is a great example.

It's coming, just a matter of time big guy.

Filming a wheat field in the wind? That's barely amazing

Best that stands out for me is the Burning oil wells in Jarhead

Hard mode: actually post your top 5 directors instead of name dropping Tarkovsky and other meme "patrician" filmmakers.

Where BvS?

Post something you'd consider good cinematography. I'll wait.

Have fun user. Been dying to do it since I was 14

Nolan
Snyder
Lynch
Lucas
Miyazaki

Get lost looking for your BvS thread?

Top meme.

here's what I consider to be the greatest shot of all time

>implying capeshit isn't posted in these threads

...

Do you like going to airports and watching people?

We'll meet again, old friend.

Lmao.

>Nolan

flashy colors and wide landscapes are empty, meaningless shots. humanity is key in cinematography. once you learn this you'll be able to move on from superficial cinematographers like Deakins/Elswit

I wish I lived in an apartment with a view like that. Also I wish I was a grill

He doesn't think. He contrarians.

Just once I want to feel a penis press its way slowly into my pussy. Is that so gay?

...

Black and white come dine with me confirmed for greatest cinematography.

Mallick's films look great but I have a really hard time sitting through them.

Coens
PTA
The Guard/Calvary McDonagh
Farhadi
Kiarostami

That's okay. There's tons of capeshit your ADHD-riddled brain can enjoy instead.

Sacrifice is better than Mirror and you know it.

This is a pretty dope shot.

Nah man. Having a huge penis push its way all the way to your cervix, feeling the pressure in your stomach, and being banged until your eyes roll back into your head and you squirt buckets should be everyone's fantasy

I can't believe I've never seen this. I love Wages of Fear and Friedkin is based. Why have I never watched it?

Pleasure and pain.

you make poor life choices?

My hotel had a view over Akihabara that was great but didn't have a little perch like that. Was comfy looking out at Tokyo in Winter from my warm hotel room.

Wish I was back there. Or at least somewhere else.
