I'm a mountaineer and prefer to spend that time scaling rock faces and climbing up icy chutes. Seems more fulfilling to challenge myself by navigating natural terrain than by repeatedly lifting a heavy object in an air conditioned room. Then again, I don't get as 'swol...

I'm completely happy with my skinny 120lbs body, I barely get sick, I dress fine and look good.

why would I work out? people work out to change something they don't like about themselves, I already love myself and my body, no need to change to get the recognition of others.

Don't get me wrong, vainity is a big part of weightlifting for many people, but to suggest bodybuilders only work out because they hate their body is pretty fucking retarded.

I hate people who say they don't have the time. I love the people who say they don't want to or are lazy. Unless you are doing something on a literal constant basis with absolutely no breaks inbetween, you have the time. Not wanting to WASTE time lifting is different than not having time.

Every time i start working out, i only last about a month and then i quit, be it to dedicate more time to my project car, or to build guitars, or simply to put more hours in at work. I can't seem to have more than one activity going on at a time in my life.

I put in about ten hours a week. Decent muscle but not willing to do the dieting bullshit to cut down. There is a difference between working out and body building, which goes a lot farther than just gym time.

I do for ay least 2 hours a day five days a week. If I didn't have a 40hr a week job I would work out more.

I walk a mile to and from work on a daily basis. The only time i drive is when I'm running too late to walk, or its raining. I fluctuate between 155 and 160, but i can't help but feel scrawny, which is my motivation to work out for that month. My biggest insecurity is my chest and arms. I've got a 40"chest, I'm wanting it to be 46-48" my arms are 13" and I'm wanting to be 16+. I realize that I'm not going to get anywhere unless i dedicate time, and then when i dedicate time, i realize how I'd much rather be spending time not hurting myself.

i kinda wonder... the guys who had the legendary great physiques all look like shit by 60. i'm 39 and i want to get "fit" but um, even the best look terrible later. what the fuck? actually, my cousin, who used to lift and later became a physical therapist after getting a degree, told me that these guys end up in hell where their old muscles feel like wood and just hurt a LOT when they get older. all that working out makes your muscles rip--that's what makes them bigger--and eventually, all that broken tissue feels like painful solid wood.

Exactly. I'm a software engineer and find time to work out 10-15 hours a week for weight lifting and running. Helps with stress, makes you feel better, and I look much better than I ever have.
