She's the product of marketing metrics: she became an activist when BLM started getting attention, she got a metal logo when it became cool.

That's actually fair. They were just the goofy comic relief for literal babies. Yeah it was already a kids movie, but the minions were there to entertain the audience whose brains were barely functioning.
Then our society took them and integrated them firmly into our popular culture and they've been there ever fucking since. Sad.
Also, please tell me that the picture OP posted is ironic and wasn't taken from a genuine source.
