>Transformers franchise is mocked and ridiculed by the public especially for it being directed by Michael Bay >Everyone praises Avengers as the second coming of Christ and all of Capeshit despite it being the exact same films
What went wrong with society?
James Jenkins
>despite it being the exact same films elaborate
Leo Lopez
I don't like it, and it is popular.
Christian Roberts
Marvel movies are fun though
Josiah Green
One has a worse and more autistic fanbase.
If transformers does too, they do a really good job of staying in the shadowed
William Hill
for some reason normies decided avengers taps into le quirky nerd """"""""""""""counter culture""""""""""""""" but transformers is made by da corporate man
Jaxson Price
I loved Transformers 1 and 2, 3 was alright and 4 was complete and utter trash. There's only so much you can do with Transformers before you end up releasing the same movie.
Marvel and DC have ton of relatable human characters with very unique superpowers.
They could do a unicron movie and that would be about it. Obviously they need the song "You've got the touch"
Henry Sanders
4 was quite an improvement over 2 and 3 which were abysmal. It was still a bad movie.
Alexander King
The Transformers movies are pretty much if not at least as fun as the Avengers movies.
Noah Perry
MIchael Bay is actually autistc though.
Dominic Powell
I don't think they're too similar, but they follow practically the same movie. All the Transformers movies and most of the Marvel movies are about getting some magical MacGuffin before the bad guy but the bad guy gets it and nearly does his thing, and they're all pretty generic blockbuster formulas.
The difference is the audience. Capeshit popularity is mostly domestic, Transformer film popularity is bigger overseas, that's why they wanted to cater to China.
Transformers does have an autistic fanbase, but they're good in the sense that they stay in their own little corner.
Chase Myers
The dumb idiot masses love transformers the same way they love capeshit, transformers makes plenty of money there is no reason for you to feel bad for it.
As far as the critical reception / negative feelings towards Bay if you know anything about how film is made you'd know that Michael Bay is regarded as something of kind of a strange hybrid between a Uwe Boll dunce and a really strong visual director. He has talent, but he uses it in stupid ways and undermines his own films constantly with sloppy work, shit writing, and generally pointless bullshit. Like there are boom-mic shadows in the latest transformers movie because he just doesn't give a shit. But he gives enough of a shit to film his action scenes with surprising skill and he works in a lot of practical effects when he can.
But most of all the transformers movies are so blatant about their product placement and their targeting of 12-24 year old young males that the film feels exactly how people describe the avengers, a slick commercial to sell toys and products with precisely calculated dialog, T&A, action, and humor to generate money.
They are similar movies, Avengers just tries to pretend that it is something else while the transformers movies are fine being two and a half long sloppy car commercials filled with robots and inner-city humor.
Andrew Bell
>thinking of maybe giving Transformers 1 a rewatch, remember it being sort of watchable >remember Shia is in it
Matthew Sanchez
This. Marvel has banked on le quirky nerd culture and by using "classic" extremely unrisky very likable characters and actors, so they can continue to make shit movies that are reviewed very well because people love these characters now. They'll say theyve always loved them, and the circlejerk of loving marvel only strenghens their opinions. The critics are barely reviewing the movies anymore, and rather just how much they love the characters. I hate all capeshit but with all of the quirky merchandise, the plethora of lore, and the insane amount of content that wont stop for at least another 10 years, its easy to see how people have bandwagoned onto a brand that was once considered "underground". As long as Marvel continues making big, safe movies, and changing it up just enough so some fanboy can argue that theyre different, it will never, ever end. TLDR capeshit will drive me to suicide
Liam Gomez
> All the Transformers movies and most of the Marvel movies are about getting some magical MacGuffin before the bad guy but the bad guy gets it and nearly does his thing, and they're all pretty generic blockbuster formulas.
Literally the only ones who did this are Avengers 1, Thor 2 and GotG.
Kill yourself, OP.
Benjamin Hall
>Transformers
This is the highest rated Transformers...
>Higher than BvS
Logan Young
>What went wrong with society? faggots like you making false equivalences
kill yourself
Brandon Campbell
Adding to that, theyre still both big spectacle movies, since the general public knows going in that theyre going to see either a big superhero fight with their favorite characters, or a big flashy robot battle. amazement is what puts asses in seats, and each marvel and transformers movie is just getting bigger and bigger. the spectacle is incresing, so the crowds will too
Austin Miller
...
Kevin Brown
Yeah, both also have shit fanbases
Robert James
>Capeshit popularity is mostly domestic, Transformer film popularity is bigger overseas, that's why they wanted to cater to China. >tfw marvel begins to cater to china and create "captain china" to team up with captain america to promote diversity >tfw it beats Avatar ten fold
Alexander Thompson
>Loved Transformers 2
I hope you get drug out into the middle of the street and shot execution style in front of your whole family.
Anthony King
I remember something about one of the writers admitting the stories in Marvel movies are expendable and interchangeable. Was a while ago though.
Henry Bell
>movie about super heroes debating over conflicting ideologies
>movie where dogs hump and its funny also nigger robots
Cameron Cox
Probably the best explanation I've seen in the thread. In my opinion both series are incredibly similar in plot and themes, Disney just goes about their business smarter and knows how to hide their generic blandness behind a veil of professionalism. Instead of hiring Michael bay, who can make a flashy movie but has nothing but bad ideas when it comes to writing and characters, they hire literally whos that are filled with no ideas and will bend over for the studios methods to keep everything safe. The transformers movies are way more blatant which, at least for me, makes them more annoying to experience.
Sebastian Kelly
Don't forget the transformer with testicles.
Leo Gutierrez
were they truck nuts
Jason Ramirez
Transformers is targeted at young male audience so it's bad
Capeshit is targeted at male audience but women like it so it's good
Both are awful though Marvel has better quips . The jokes in transformers are pretty bad
Samuel Garcia
Marvel and DC have ton of relatable human characters with very unique superpowers.
except both avengers movies follow the exact same formula tho.
>we team up we good fights >oh no we all clash with each other >group grows apart >bad guy beats us >some stupid plot hole happens that bands group together again >now we strong, now we win >defeat bad guy
Evan Allen
I like transformers movies better than capeshit 2bh. At least transformers movies are self aware about how bullshit they are and did not monopolize an entire market.
Tyler Perez
My biggest problem with the transformers films are the confusing editing and jump cuts, the complete dismissal of stakes (wasting the Fallen was unforgivable), and the human segments being boring as fuck
Nathan Jenkins
Get a jump start and kill yourself then
Jaxon Hill
y..you too
Colton Price
underrated post.
Zachary Green
Ah yes, those classic characters, Ant-Man, Star Lord, Vision, and Doctor Strange.
Jaxon Lopez
>It's also Higher rated than MoS Top fucking kek
Jackson Walker
moreso iron man, cap and hulk, but you can bet there was a surge of people saying "oh yeah ive read the ant man/gotg/what the fuck ever comics" so they can feel a surge of superiority among their normie friends
Adam Bell
>by the public
It isn't.
Internet vlogs/blogs =/= public
Nicholas Garcia
Transformers 1 was fun as fuck
Austin Wilson
The Avengers is actually about the Avengers instead of the kid who sometimes hangs out with them
Austin Sanders
Hello, Donny. Did you know that you're special? Yes, really special! Here's a lollipop.
Kayden Bennett
>Transformers and DC movies both have horrible reviews by critics >Marvel movies praised by critics
>OP is a DCuck trying to compare Marvel movies to Transformer movies to make himself feel better about his sad life
Transformer movies and DC movies make a lot of money and get really shitty reviews, so DC movies have more in common with Transformer movies, Marvel gets high ratings with critics, so they have nothing to do with DC or Transformer movies
Jose Lewis
Even hardcore Marvelbabbies seem to agree that Avengers is pretty fucking shallow. They're more in favor of the likes of Winter Soldier and Civil War lately.
Jeremiah Perry
The first Transformers was a pretty good movie.
Samuel Russell
Marvel actually makes decent action flicks
Jordan Sanchez
>Reminder that MOS, Avengers and Transformers 3 are the same. >Reminder that BvS plot is literally Transformers 4 plot.
Brody Thomas
It's all in the marketing
Andrew Thompson
Bay has tons of more personality and interest than any Marvel film, tho. His films may be shallow and stupid, but the guy knows his aesthetics.
Christopher Johnson
Who was Lockdown in BvS? Who was Galvatron? Who was Batman in TF4, or Superman?
Bentley Morris
This is a surprisingly good post for Sup Forums. Congrats.
Aiden Stewart
>Wouldn't even get a chink actress for Doctor Stange
Not habbenen
James Hughes
Transformers 2 is almost avant garde. It's balls to the walls insane and there's so much visual flair on that thing.
Juan Young
Nu males love the avengers and the MCU, the simplistic plots and the light film making, provides non aggressive and easy to digest entertainment for the simple minded audience that is easily offended by creative story telling.
