check out cromagnon - orgasm

Palm - Trading Basics

Is Hella obscure? No, probably not. We Were Promised Jetpacks?

>Frank Ocean - Blonde
no inb4

Is it eerie in a good way?

great rec, thanks man. after don cab tho, nothing compares...
hella goes hard, jet packs less so

>The Antlers - In the Attic of the Universe
>Dan Deacon - Spiderman of the Rings
>The Dodos - Beware of the Maniacs
>Clams Casino - Instrumentals Mixtape Vol. 2
>looking for something like The Body but more accessible and pleb-friendly

Nana Grizol - Ruth (if you're into lyrics-centered folk rock a la The Mountain Goats)

Belzebong - Sonic Scapes & Weedy Grooves (if you like THC-tinged doom a la Dopethrone)

Dan Deacon - Bromst (for dense electronica that strikes me as a nice middle ground between OPN and LCD)

Yes - The Yes Album (on the off chance you haven't heard that prog rock classic yet)

Emancipator - Soon It Will Be Cold Enough To Start Building Fires (wintery electronic like By the Throat, but a bit mellower)

Ponytail - Do Whatever You Want All the Time (good mathy noise rock)

yeah man, i love ponytail!
if you like dan deacon (i don't particularly) you might like tyondai braxton's solo stuff, particularly "central market". the back end of that album is great.

Is sigh a Chinese metal band?

>Meursault- All Creatures Will Make Merry
>Sufjan Stevens- Carrie and Lowell
>Sigur Ros- Agaetis Byrjun
>Mogwai- Happy Songs for Happy People

>inb4 Sun Kil Moon
>inb4 Slint

Only going off of In the Attic of the Universe as it's the only one I've listened to properly
Maybe Frightened Rabbit or King Creosote for that depressing with a bit of hope indie rock feel

Good rec, I'll check it out!
Staying in the math rock vein you might also like Clever Girl's No Drum and Bass in the Jazz Room EP. It's jazzy and it's got a brass section, I get the feeling you might like it. That and Home Alone by Totorro.

good thread idea

>The Cure - Disintegration
>Ride - Vapour Trail
>Arcade Fire - Funeral
>anything by the smiths
>anything by Battles
>anything by Radiohead
>inb4 Spiderland, Loveless, Souvlaki, Silent Alarm, Pet Sounds

listen to Holy Fuck - LP

already familiar with it, Caledonia and Toth Scribe I are fantastic
Emancipator sounds right up my alley, thank you user. You listen to any sludge metal? You might find something like a more accessible The Body there, though I can't think of an example off the top of my head
Japanese, rec'd them because their genre-hopping tendencies remind me a lot of Mr. Bungle.

>Ween - Quebec
>Magma - 1001 centigrades
>The Olivia Tremor Control - Black Foliage: Animation Music, Vol. 1

>Les Bains Douches - Joy Division
>Nevermind the Bollocks - The Sex Pistols
>Sandinista - The Clash
>More Songs about buildings and food. - Talking Heads
>Wavves - Afraid of Heights

Try the Flippers, pretty decently related.

>Screaming Females - Castle Talk
>Life but how to live it - Day by Day
>White Lung - Paradise

I like gruff girl vocals and crunchy guitars

You may like the album Unsolved by Karate.

Oops misread the inb4 rule, you might hate Unsolved.

>cocteau twins - Heaven or Las Vegas
>Mineral - EndSerenading

>Sufjan Stevens - Carrie and Lowell

>In the Aeroplane Over the Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel

>Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
I can't really think of any albums I hate desu

Try Pink Flag by Wire, although maybe you have.
Have you heard Sleater-Kinney and Bikini Kill? Norwegian band Razika may be something for you maybe not gruff vocals and too poppy though. You shoul try Le Tigre, it's a bit more electronic music influenced but still pretty much rock

Here's my list of long time favorites
