honestly OP every girl is different and not all of them put looks at the top of their list. now, at your age, thats more the case... so hold tight as you might be lonely for a while. Theres no way to get any one girl to like you, a girl either is attracted to you or she isnt. You can be good at this, have x amount of money, look like this, etc. and some girls will like it and some wont. I was fat, pasty, depressed, angry and shy when I was in high school. I was a likeable and cool person, talented in some ways, just not confident. Now I'm almost 30, and the last 8 years or so I got into better shape, got some sunlight to my skin, realized my talent and found my confidence. I've dated and fucked many girls "out of my league". My current girlfriend is one of the hottest girls in my town (a small town of 3000 people, but lots of tourism) and literally every day dozens of guys look at her and hit on her when I'm nearby or not directly next to her. I'd say confidence is the best thing. if you act like youre happy, and act like youre a desirable guy, that'll start to rub off. dont be arrogant, dont be desperately TRYING to prove your confidence, just genuinely realize your worth. Smile, make eye contact, roll your shoulders back with your chest out a bit (not exaggerated, just a proper posture stance), breathe deep and calmly into your belly, not short chest anxious chest breaths. If you do ANYTHING, draw, music, sports, comedy, etc. put it out there and give no fucks of your critics. Someone will happen to like you for something about you that isnt superficial, and it could be a whale, or it could be a bangin bitch.
Just be yourself, but accept that you might not break out of your shell or come into your full potential until after high school. Maturity and growth will change how your face and skin looks over time... so if youre "ugly" right now, you might not be later. But dont see yourself as ugly. See yourself as a boss who isnt an arrogant dick.

i'm in the same boat, i'm a 18 year old freshmen (Kek) and a kissless, hugless, virgin who has never even had a friend of the opposite gender. I only have had around 5 friends since middle school that i have hung around but ever since we got into highschool seems they all do their own thing and now i have 0 friends and just awkwardly walk around before homeroom, after lunch, and waiting for busses. I'm fairly intelligent, i have been in honor classes since the 6th grade but it is hard just standing around watching people hugging, kissing, and grinding on each other in between periods or even conversating normally. The only people i have talked to besides the teachers and people in my science group is my mother which rarely is ever home.
