No

Keep going

Maybe cut down on it

Can you make those LEDs light up as Swastikas?
If not, you've wasted all the money you've spent.

Keep gaming, stop sucking so much dick.

put your dick on it

sure

Do whatever you want, because you're gonna do it anyway

what is the game on screen?

if it's your hobby, why would you?
if you got something more enjoyable then just game less and do more of the fun things
not like you gonna die of playing video games

no why? is something wrong?

fuck it I'll just be a chad

Looks like RL. Killer graphics, but it can involve a lot of pain.

>home phone
When was this taken?

NEVAR!

Guts/battlesations thread?

its Arma 3, he is also playing the new Apax dlc on the tanoa map

I hate that desk, so confining.

you should fucking kill yourself because of those surrounds...

You need a more spacious desk honestly. I can only game with a recliner.

all that desk space with literally nothing on it, and even if there was no way to comfortably access it

what a waste

It's too late for that OP; warp speed ahead!

This. I kept seeing the makings of a swastika out of the corner of my eye

If gaming is no longer serving you, then let it go.

if you dont feel it anymore and although you want to enjoy it you simply dont enjoy it like you used to, let it go.

if you havent played "The beginners guide" then you have missed out.

thepiratebay.org/torrent/12515822/The.Beginners.Guide-SKIDROW

Are you a fuckin paraplegic? If not mom and dad wasted lots of money.

Fuck off with your hipster shit

Yes, Gaming has gone to complete shit with 1 game that everyone will be exited about for an entire year only to find out that it is shit and the developers have lied about the game and run away with everyone's pre order money while still making money from kids that buy microtransactions.

You buy a £1500 pc for gaming and then end up playing games that are nearly 10 years old now. It just isn't worth it anymore. I am not gonna buy another gaming PC until things improve.

I gave up gaming and it was the best thing I ever did but you need to have something to do with your time

So much this.

I used to game on a $3000 pc when it was worth it. Crysis had just come out, and games justified a decent PC. Of course, it couldn't run Crysis, but there were so many awesome RTS games like company of heroes, Rome total war, etc. It just made sense at the time.

Fast forward to today and most of my library is 10 years old or the odd half-decent hipster game that can be played on a work laptop. It just doesn't make sense to invest over $500 into a gaming computer just to play the same games your work computer can run.

why stop now

gents, I truly believe that video games were much better before the internet

first of all, without the internet developers had to create a world that was super immersive and deep and complex to keep people interested

second of all, without the internet, the developers themselves probably put more time and effort into making the game awesome because they werent fucking about watching porn and browsing reddit and Sup Forums when they could have been making awesome levels and stories and stuff.

I truly believe that all of the best games are behind us now until VR becomes a widely accepted thing and then maybe there will be a chance that games will become good again but only if people find a way to use VR in a way that allows people to focus instead of being distracted by constant connectivity

There's still RTS and simulation games if you're into that. Shooters and RPG's are becoming a dime in a dozen.

the desk looks cool, but im sure it has shit leg room, and you cant turn in it with any medium sized chair, you have some shit monitors.

Get a new desk with more room for you to be in, and get better monitors then play more vidya

sup user

my favorite games are exploration type games with big worlds, genre not that important

rts and simulation never really drew me in

i make a list:

super metroid
shadow of the collosus
half life 1 & 2

etc, I cant think of recent games I liked i'm sure there are some

I think the new zelda game is supposed to be good but we will see, I haven't honestly played a video game in a long time so i'm kind of disconnected from how things are going

I did keep up with the no man's sky drama though, what a joke that was

Yes. Or you will end up like this guy:

...

I think no man's sky might be this generation's ET. The video game industry is just about to crash.

Zelda doesn't count since it's not a PC game.

Yup, that pretty much sums it up.

10 years ago the hardest part was getting the games to actually run and having enough to pay for all the amazing games coming out, the new challenge is actually finding a good game.

Holy fuck I remember having to make decisions over which games to buy in 2007 because there were so many good games coming out. I really don't think there has been a game this year that hasn't been disappointing.

>my gaming pc

Well what do you mean by the internet? you mean the internet as we know it today? or when the world wide web went live in 1991?

I think the golden years of gaming were 1997 - 2007

>today's (yesterday's) gaming requirements in a nutshell

Fugg, I almost thought it was just an empty case

Is that a raspberry pi or what? And what can it run?

No, but get into other genres such as the Total War series. Empire and Rome 2 are semi-shit, and Warhammer I don't know about, but the others are okay. Here's some music from Medieval 2. There, you can exterminate the population of a settlement.
youtube.com/watch?v=UY81yYFzgiU

I hope you are a professional gamer and have this desk because of it. This are the reasons:

>You woudn't ask this if you where amateur. This crossed your mind because its an important activity.
>You must play like a guy with a stick up his ass in a closed-loop desk like that.
>You must be very stressed out of this all-day gaming in a jail-kind desk, and this is why you asked on a place where no serious answer will be found.

If so, the answer is yes.

I'm not that well versed on what ET did, was that back when the game industry was pumping out shit cartridges and then everything crashed and became valueless? I think I saw something like that on a documentary about atari or something idk

That's a good question

When I say 'the internet' what I really mean is the huge migration to push our entire lives onto the net until we got to the point where being disconnected was something scary that no one does.

I remember back in the day when there was still internet but no social media and normies didn't use it much I could turn my computer off and go chill in my room for 8 hours with a game console and just get lost in a video game but now its not like that.

I miss the idea of just absorbing into another world. I tried to recreate it by disconnecting the internet in my bedroom and stuff but its not really the same, but I did have some fun playing some old snes games this way.

running dos on it right now, its more of a science project then anything, pushing the limitations of it

I dont understand the question.

Warhammer follows the same trend as most games. Dawn of war 1 was awesome, incredible. Dawn of war 2 is shit.

Dawn of war 1 is dead because it's old. Dawn of war 2 is dead because it sucks.

interesting

Yea, they didnt release half finished games. If they fucked up like "game devs" do now they would get fired. back then they hired quality programmers, not "game dev" script kiddies.
Look at that tony hawk game for fucks sake.. They sold a blank cd in store that only had the tutorial on it, and the whole game was in an update.

vr isnt going to help anything, because as long as they have the ability to update things, nobody is going to be help accountable for hiring fuckups.

>Is that a raspberry pi or what? And what can it run?
Yes. And barely a desktop environment and 2 tabs of firefox. God help you if you open three.

Aw I know exactly how you feel user. Its because it became mainstream and big companies started to see what they could do with it.

If you used to be a gamer, you were a loser. Game developers and gamers were seperate from society. Game developers used to consider themselves friends with gamers and wanted to give them these incredible experiences.

Game developers today only care about money and that is a fact.

I used to be a social outcast and I would play games like system shock 2, deus ex, thief and I would just play them all day in a pitch black room and zone out of reality completely. It was perfect.

No games today could make you feel anything close to the older ones.

THe problem is greed. As long as there's plenty of screaming kids getting mommy and daddy to pay for the next DLC, there's no incentive to create entire games anymore.

That's a great point ... the idea of fixing things after release is so bad for the quality of the games.

For some reason minecraft is coming to mind idk why

Damn thats a great way to put it.. true gamers and game developers are now at odds with each other when it used to be the exact opposite

i guess thats why indies took off, but they can never match the depth of an AAA game so its not the same

Also it really doesn't help with the fact that gaming is considered "cool" now because this means kids and teens will buy games just to impress their friends rather than actually playing it for fun.

I will also give out some really depressing number for anyone who played system shock 2

System shock 2 sales after 2 years of its release: 58,671

Fifa 16 sales after 8 days of it's release:1 million

If you think you should stop you probably should. Leave it for now, games will be there if you want to go back to them.

Yes, and you might want to consider becoming anhero while you're at it.

Yea, just grow up already.

That too, but the main issue is them selling incomplete and downright broken games.
Look at gta v for example. On launch the game was unplayable. The cops had fatal precession and Omniscience aswell as the ability to see through walls, vehicles, buildings and mountains.
The enemy jet from the military base wouldnt reset after you died and would proceed to spawn kill you over and over.
Your jets would literally fall out of the sky randomly
Youll spawn without any weapons and if you leave it saves as you having never had weapons to begin with
There have been several times where multiplayer was broken, if you went near anyone else the game would lag it. It stays like that for several weeks to several months before it gets fixed.
There were dozens of other things like that which made the game unplayable.

There was also the fact they advertised the game as "being able to do heists with your friends", but they refused to put heists into the game until two years later.

Then like you said, the dlcs. Even free ones. Instead of fixing the game, they made updates that were flat out retarded. The "beach bum" update, all they did was put in some shit cars nobody wanted, and some shit weapons that are useless in real combat. The first several updates were fucking useless, meanwhile that game was still completely unplayable.
Games like minecraft, they will release updates that fuck over your entire world causing the map to be unplayable and when you report it to them they wont even reply.
I have a world I spend weeks on transforming whole biomes. I save and exited like normal and the next day there was an update where they added new shit. I loaded up my world and now when I move more than 500 feet the game crashes and closes out to dashboard.
Their solution is obviously "fuck everything you did, just make a new world"

I know many other people that build a ton of shit and out of nowhere the map fucks up somehow.

Excatly, read this post. Cont.

I have a friend that on one of his maps we built a huge city. One night the map just wouldnt even load. Somehow it got corrupted, no updates or anything. Just a glitch in the world saving.
We made a new map, and they rebuilt the city 100x bigger. Then something happened with that map, you can load it up but you cannot save it. Any changes made WILL be lost. It will only save about 1 out of every 100 saves and there is no way to know if it actually saved or not.
theres been other fuckups with this game similar to that.
I dont play sims at all, but there is an issue in the last SEVERAL sim games that would result in the save being lost and people loose generations of game play, ea flat out refuses to fix that and iirc even instructed their "game devs" to not bother fixing the issue.

Yup its a sad state of affairs for sure I think now I understand why I am going back to retro games things were much simpler then and less stressful

That's why I feel that games that aren't connected to the internet are the best games. They are like a painting... you take them as they are and that is it. If you want more game, you wait for them to release the sequel.

I like that kind of approach

You could just cut time for other stuff. You don't have to stop all together bro

That looks like VHS on the top right. No way those are books that all happen to be the right size for it.

Why do you always have to ruin cool battlestations with retarded speaker placement ?

A british computer with the power of a P4.

It looks like you already have/never began. No gamer's desk is ever ever ever that clean. I don't see the slightest sign of a marathon. I bet you're bladder is empty and your body is showered. you disgust me. Good day.

Good choice, old games are great.
I'm a programmer, and game modder. Console gaming was killing me. If I decide to play again, I am gong to be playing on PC. Ill have access to my game saves without having to jump through hoops, and Ill have access to the game files where I will be free to create.
Should my game save become unplayable, I will just make a new save, refill my inventory to what it was before, and godmode my way back to where I left off.

I've restarted so many game saves. Its wrong to force that on someone. I've put in so much time and work, what I'm about to do isn't even considered cheating at this point.

>P4
you wish.
That thing is clocked at 700 mhz. Literally 90s tier.

Yup, at 700mhz, it has about the same operations per second as the P4 around the turn of the millenia, and it's GPU is a little better than what you could get in a desktop then.

I've never had a p4 struggle like that thing does.
Don't get me wrong, I love arm, even use one for security cameras.. but its not a replacement for a desktop computer.

You need to run the right software on it, modern day stuff is so bloated, even running Windows XP on a P4 machine with 1GB of ram, and todays Chrome or FF, will make you pull your hair out.

I really don't see how playing video games on 3 shitty little screens is supposed to be better than playing on my 70 inch LED. Consoles have their upsides.

>saw FF using over 5 GB of ram yesterday
>closed it
>700 MB of ram used
Yea its bullshit all of the blot. Same thing with websites. Everyone rices the fuck out of their website, they then have to use a shit ton of bandwith which costs $$$$, then they get ads "to pay for it", and then they get butthurt when you block the adds..
Dont rice your page,
Wont have this problem.

its crysis u dummy

Considering most games suck now yes, gaming is dying a slow death get out of it while you can.

This is what it means to be a gamer in 2016:

youtube.com/watch?v=0FXCzY2oaMA

I am really thinking about just selling everything and getting a normal PC that can play some of my older games I used to play.

There is NOTHING even slightly acceptable coming out anymore.

My only hope is that valve makes a big comeback and saves gaming, however I am in doubt.

My time with user has come to an end. During our time together, I learned about his general cynicism and misanthropy but also his irrelevant, self-deprecating style of humour and his ability to show compassion forward those who shared his "feels". What had started as a journey into the "dark side of the internet" had become a poignant investigation into the lives of wayward young men. With no community to fall back on and plenty of free time to spend online, they had forged an alliance not out of common interests but common sense of displacement. Although they have been attacked in the media as nazis, perverts and nihilists, the picture I was presented was one of loneliness and desperation. I finally realised that the "Internet Hate Machine" hates nothing more than itself.

Yea I sympathize with you, just make sure you don't abuse the extra features you get and the experience should be pretty similar.. I played shadow of the colossus this way via the ps2 emulator and it was a great experience still, just saved via emulator every time there was an in game save state.

I remember back in 2012, a core 2 duo laptop with 4GB of RAM, could handle 100~150 pages in FF or Chrome without complaining.

My current i7 laptop with 16GB of RAM, runs out with just a dozen pages open. Google's main page uses 512MB, google docs 768~1024GB -no plugins running at all. This current Sup Forums page is using 135.4MB of RAM, not bad for that.

It's $35 and the size of a credit card. What do you expect? 2 tabs is fucking amazing.

A page is not a page is not a page. Apples to oranges, buddy. The landscape has shifted.
