Non-American/Canadafags:How recognizable is the Canadian Flag around the world?
I am currently traveling with my Mom and Dad, right now visiting my sister and her Canadian husband in Canada (it's boring as shit btw). In three weeks I'm going to be travelling around Europe, Netherlands, the former Soviet Union alone (I'm 22) and my family is telling me to sew fucking leaf flags on my pack and jacket instead of the Stars and Stripes. They are telling me Canadians are respected more than Americans over there and I don't know if I can believe that. My brother-in-law is actually kinda pissed off at the suggestion that I do this, but that's another story I guess. Anyway back to the question, most Americans don't even recognize the fucking leaf and we live next door to these fags; How will anyone else even know that stupid fucking leaf represents Canada, let alone has anyone over there even heard of Canada?
I don't think I am wrong, literally nobody cares about Canada and I doubt anyone even knows about Canada over there.
Liam Bailey
I know lots of Americans that have done this because most of Europe thinks USA fags are obnoxious fat assholes.
Everybody loves Canadians, nobody likes Americans. Do what you want obviously but if you don't want to get treated like the obese gun toting racist faggots that all of your are you'd be better off hiding under a Canadian flag.
Jeremiah Reyes
Canadian soldiers liberated Holland from the Nazis.
Brody Perry
I think that many people will recognize Canadian flag over europe and know about Canadians and them being well mannered. I live in Finland.
Jaxon Davis
You shouldn't put a Canadian flag on your backpack if you're an American travelling Europe. Your assholeness is a dead giveaway. Anybody you manage to fool will just wind up hating Canadians.
Zachary Cooper
Russians hate canada and why would you stich any flag on you autist
Justin Foster
since when?
Mason Cooper
I can understand doing this in England because they still rule them, but will anyone else in literally every other part of the world even recognize the flag? I don't think most of the world has even heard of the name Canada. Ya ok sure. Canada doesn't fight in wars. They didn't even fight in Vietnam or Iraq 1&2

K I guess?
Josiah Gray
I'm Canadian and my brother died fighting in Iraq. So don't tell me Canada doesn't fight in wars.

OP subtly doing his job as intended, triggering this young man here

he wasn't telling you, he anonymously told the internet, you simply took it personally. Vietnam wasn't a war until nearer the end you loon, it was the Vietnam 'conflict', where the rest of the world understood that Americans were idiot freelancers who took full advantage of their loose-law ways
Matthew Reed
with acting american in eastern europe you will get warm welcome or be seen as an obnoxious loud asshole tho we can recognize canadian flag too and its still north america so you will probably get a better treatment, also if you speak english you will probably be asked if you are an american
William Peterson
Canadians are well liked just about everywhere on the planet. Seeing our leaf on your back isn't a terrible idea if you're going to like, Cuba or some 3rd world shithole where you're worried about your safety. Otherwise why do people feel the need to advertise where they from? Never understood that...
Parker Hill
with acting american in eastern europe you will get warm welcome or be seen as an obnoxious loud asshole tho we can recognize canadian flag too and its still north america so you will probably get a better treatment, also if you speak english you will probably be asked if you are an american so then its up to you to decide
Nathaniel Nguyen
Terrible bait
Benjamin Howard
yeah i've heard stories of americans getting robbed/mugged but brits or leafs are generally fine so yeah, that's a good suggestion. and also that cuck who is offended can suck a cock.

>Canadians are respected more than Americans believe me they are > literally nobody cares about Canada and I doubt anyone even knows about Canada over there. you need an education, its a good thing that youre going off the continent for a while, might learn some things, canadians are overall more respectful than people of the united states, and to my knowledge, you guys are the only ones that deny it
Jonathan Sanchez
This.
In most of Europe a maple leaf on your bag will make you more welcomed. In a bunch of small towns their are places where Canada is adorned because it was liberated by Canada. Juno beach and Dieppe France come to mind.
Hunter Ramirez
The point is that Canadians are less likely to be abducted and or murdered. I've met many people who actually survived shit in places like Egypt. All because no one hates Canada, they are that big, tall, quiet friend that nobody fucks with.
James Thomas
Canadafag here. Sorry to say faggots, (Not really) that Americans are well hated by pretty much everyone (including us) for just being massive nigger cunts. Canada also still being a British Colony kinda helps our reception everywhere. Also cause we're not being fat obnoxious racist fuckwits.
Tyler Bailey
Canada's flag is pretty recognizable as it's one of the few flags that isn't just 3 bars of varying colors or some variation on the theme of the Union Jack. Just because amerifats that can't even name all the states in their own country can't recognize Canada doesn't mean that others around the world won't, but even if they don't, that's part of the reason to pass as Canadian. Canada has a lot more of a neutral reputation than the U.S. They're neutral-good, generally viewed as agreeable people who don't carpet-bomb other nations for the fuck of it. You mostly want to hide under the leaf because it's the most plausible way to explain your accent (Canada and U.S. accents being extremely similar) to someone who may not think super well of the U.S.
Jacob Perry
fucking this
Gabriel Howard
we are being lead by a faggot and we are half way to socialist, but at least the world likes us. i only want to become american bcim tired ofmy rediculous taxes that have never benefited me.
Jason Roberts
How is this a surprise. We're surrounded by functional idiots in many areas. Where I live is all health nuts for the most part, so it doesn't fit the cliche. But so many other places do. Acceptance? No. Any intelligent self motivation to not go with the herd? Dead. America is fucked by its own doing. It's fact. Fucking high density of functional retards.
Matthew Cox
> putting flags on your shit This is why no one likes you
Jack Murphy
This is actually common practice. It's funny how Americans think their ignorance implies the ignorance of others.
Josiah Gutierrez
at least in northern europe and the former soviet union hockey is a big deal and they know canada at least from that, and of course all the american media they consume which constantly references canadians as being over polite good guys. im also calling bullshit on most americans not knowing the canadian flag
David Moore
If your different or don't follow the party system, we reject you. We reject everyone and everything that doesn't fit the norm. The bent nail gets hammered. Or any nail you feel like hammering rather, in US society. It is why it will be the American people that fuck it up ultimately. It seems to be a part of our nature.
Henry Morris
I'm Dutch and I think it's safe to say that we respect Canadians more than we respect Americans.
James Jenkins
When traveling, I always wear a maple leaf t-shirt or backpack, almost everywhere I go people will treat you better. The second they realize you're Canadian and not American, they have a instant personality change.
Isaiah Young
Who fucking wears tourist souvenir clothes from their own country?
Henry Cooper
Someone who doesn't want spit in their food
Evan Brooks
whenever I see a tourist with a Canadian patch I think.."fucking american"
Tyler Gray
Legit this Canadian patch meme is everywhere
Bentley Allen
Ever since pulled that out of his ass, I guess.
Jose Evans
If you speak non-brit English, people assume you're from the states. Wether you have a flag on or not doesn't matter. So people preemptively try to dissuade stabbings and muggings.
Lucas Lopez
>I don't think I am wrong, literally nobody cares about Canada and I doubt anyone even knows about Canada over there. lol, this is EXACTLY why you're gonna get stabbed and mugged; You have 0 knowledge of ANYTHING outside your quaint little american town.
Oliver Rodriguez
not that guy but recently there has been a bit of friction between the two governments over things like the arctic waters and crimea/ukraine beyond that the average russian probably doesnt give a fuck about canada beyond the winter olympics
Joseph Collins
yeah if you put a Canadian flag on your bag then yes you will get more respect considering Canada is said to be one of the greatest places in the world because of our multiculturalism
Henry Price
True, but the same stands for most other countries. Also, I inferred he meant canadians were more hated by russians than americans, which is just foolish.
Joshua Gonzalez
Yeah, they're kind of right. Wear something slightly more personalized, maybe a provincial flag, or a canadian hockey team logo too.
Blake Hernandez
this OP's lack of knowledge and calling it a stupid leaf triggers me
Kevin Ross
Canadian here, went to England and Scotland in June. Everyone assumed I was an American and I was treated noticbly better after I casually told them where I was from.
I don't know what you fags did to make them hate you so much but fuck.
Thomas Scott
>How will anyone else even know that stupid fucking leaf represents Canada, >OP thinks that since the average americans international situational awareness ends with "mexicans eat tacos" the rest of the world is as uneducated as him. lol, you're going to get mugged no matter WHAT you wear.
