Is it worth moving to Hamilton Ontario?

Is it worth moving to Hamilton Ontario?

Can any Canadians chime in?

>Ontario
BC and Alberta are the only good parts of this country senpai

Absolutely not.

>cuckberta
>good
Hang yourself oilnigger.
B.C. Is good.

I'm from BC, I'm just giving Alberta the benefit of the doubt.

Hamilton has a very film noir esthetic at night

What about Brampton? I stayed there once like 10 years ago. Don't remember anything about it except the hotel was in an industrial area.

And why does every city in the GTA besides Toronto look so blocky, old and disgusting?

Explain why

Rent looks super cheap there

It's unironically the pajeet capital

Everyone there is brown

My understanding is that Hampton is basically Brampton lite

Rent is probably super cheap in the Downtown Lower East side in Vancouver, is that a good reason to move there?

>rent cheap in vancouver

Fuck no

Hamilton is the most underrated city in Canada, mainly because most people don't know anything about it other than what they see driving past on the Burlington skyway. It's a major city in it's own right and has most of the things that a major city would offer, it has character and is aesthetically pleasing, a relatively strong economy, it's a HELL of a lot more affordable than Toronto, and if there is anything you cant find here Toronto is a quick drive/train ride away.

The only downside to Hamilton is that Toronto hipsters are starting to clue in to the things I just mentioned and they are beginning to move here.

How's the arts scene?
t. Vancouverite

Fuck where do can we escape to then

I live with my parents in Aurora and I'm planning on moving out soon so I'm thinking a suitable place. That part of Ontario seems quite good.

Imagine Detroit but a house costs $650,000

It has a fairly strong scene for a city of 750k. It's obviously not Toronto, but people shouldn't make the mistake of thinking it's a suburb.

And like I sort-of mentioned, artist-types in Toronto are getting priced out of that city and turning to Hamilton.

This is typical ignorance from someone who has never actually been to the city.

I've been there and I know a shithole when I see one. I would know...I live in Edmonton

Downtown save for Locke street/James street is one of the poorest downtowns in all of Canada. Ancaster/Stoney Creek/Westdale/Dundas are all very nice and above average when it comes to the environment - lots of forests, waterfalls, and a three-level vertical layout .

>Downtown save for Locke street/James street is one of the poorest downtowns in all of Canada

If by "poor" you mean that you don't need to be a multimillionaire to buy a house here. Besides, the grit is part of Hamilton's charm.

I once made a stop in Kitchener on my way from Detroit to Toronto. The pic looks a lot like that area. Apparently it is always sunny there. Because that was a sunny day and the rangers played their first game of the season against Mississauga.

>Fuck where do can we escape to then
London and Kitchener are nice, but in a different way. They are also respectably sized cities in their own right, but they have a more suburban character because that is what the people who live there want. Strong economies and low cost of living. LOTS of white people. There's not a whole lot to do there but it's still easy to spend a weekend in Toronto or something.

>oilnigger
>doesn't know anything but still feels the need to comment

>tfw I want to move to Ontario but I have no money and no job prospects.

Too bad you're not Syrian.

Yes, the downtown is poor. This is a fact. You can look up the statistics yourself, but if you lived here it'd be obvious.

HAAAAHAHAHAHAA FUCK NO!

Well... some parts of it are nice. Downtown's fun, but dirty.

If you've got a job lined up at Dofasco or something, you're pretty much set.

It's straight out of a Gibson novel, right down to the dex.

I live in Hamilton and go to McMaster, ask me anything.

Know anyone who's hiring?

Hiring for what specifically?

I recommend Barton Street

Something that pays enough to afford rent, food, and a car.

What faculty?

Engineering

Too dumb for Waterloo?

kek

I'm in mechanical. Waterloo is pretty shit for everything except software, comp, and tron.

He isn't Chinese enough

one of the shittiest cities in ontario desu

>where do can we escape to then

Northern Ontario. I left Newmarket for Sudbury and I've honestly never been happier.

Low rent, friendly people, and clean cities. Sure Winter is a lot more harsh once you're North of Parry Sound, but you get used to it. And even though the cities are smaller and farther apart, they're still cities. Sudbury has it's own breweries, specialty shops (comics, cards, electronics, foods, etc.). Pretty much every city has it's own casino. And they're all close to reserves (the natives are total bros, though), which means cheap booze and smokes.

My only real complaints are that everything shuts down after dark (save for bars), how long things take to ship here, and the cost of gas.

>Rent is probably super cheap in the Downtown Lower East side in Vancouver, is that a good reason to move there?
hahahahahhahahahhahahaha
