Started Persian on Monday. Script seems fairly easy and the language is apparently on par with German for difficulty. But fuck me there is a dearth of decent beginner resources online. I'm also struggling to find media.

I have stopped trying to learn new languages, I mean what's the point? Everybody speaks English anyway and those who don't, are completely irrelevant and might as well don't exist.
Also, I find grammatical genders (Indo-Euro crap) and fucked up writing systems (Asian languages) obnoxious. All that remains are completely useless meme languages to learn, but why should I bother, when I already speak one?

Grammar is my pending subject, I already got the Cambridge Grammar in Use but I want to deepen some more.
Portuguese, Italian and Spanish are more different than people usually think, specially on grammar.

masculine and feminine don't really mean anything, they're just words used to describe noun classes. also I don't think the word is conjugate when you're talking about adjectives changing based on noun class, but I don't know.

I presently speak English fluently, French well enough to get by, and my Mandarin is now a little shaky but I had previously taken it for much of my school life; I'm at around HSK3 or 4, I think.

I speak a Chinese dialect (Teochew / 潮州話) and I have familial ties with Vietnamese, but I'm still interested in learning languages, especially those with alphabets that I'm entirely unfamiliar with such that I can learn to sound out words in languages even if I haven't the slightest clue what they mean. (I did this with Korean off a YouTube video I saw, pic related).

Where should I start, /lang/? I do a lot of singing, too, so if it's a language associated with a musical culture that'd be extra neat.

Learned one feature that I find neat. Nouns have cases, but adjectives don't decline. Instead they're more sort of added through a compound vowel apparently. ie book-e-pretty

It's useful for both beginners and those already slightly proficient I think. I wouldn't use it as sole teaching tool, unless maybe you immerse yourself into an only-language situation with little time to actually dedicate to just learning. Pic related is the contents

The verb endings are straightfoward. You can say a lot with a few suffixed words (agglutinative language). The only bigger obstacle is the vocabulary, the Perso-Arabic script and possibly, the SOV word order at first

Its the same thing. YOu can learn french/italian at the same time, both the grammar and many words are very similar, especially for you that already know spanish.

To be honest, I see language learning like any other hobby. I can't force myself to like playing cricket, and to go to cricket training 3 times a week. Simply because I don't like playing it. It is what it is.
I assume you speak English and Dutch fluently. Perhaps give German or Swedish/Norwegian a try. And then call it a day.

I studied Japanese for a while and a friend of mine has studied Mandarin for a few years now. From what I gather, it seems that Mandarin grammar is much simpler. The word order is much more free than Japanese.
As for vocab, very little overlaps. Although many Japanese words have Chinese origins, overtime the amount of sound changes and adaptations to it has made any hope for mutual intelligibility negligible

C'est un peu difficile à agrandir ton vocabulaire, mais je crois si tu traîneras autour d'étrangers, tu commenceras lentement à comprendre des nouveaux mots et des expressions (pourtant, l'argot est le pire).
