What do you all think about Snyder's planned adaptation of the Fountainhead...

What do you all think about Snyder's planned adaptation of the Fountainhead? Should they change anything to make it more palatable to non-objectivists, like say making the main character not be as much of an asshole?
Hopefully it's not as bad as the Atlas Shrugged movies.

>Snyder

hyped

I'm hyped because it means he'll be so busy with this movie that the damage he does to DC will be minimized. Also, because it'll prove to my annoying friends that Hollywood isn't as liberal as they thought.

I honestly liked Dagney's brother the best in Atlas.

too bad nobody's ever going to watch it, because if they did it'd be a meme an order of magnitude deeper than bvs

Why? He was a strawman death-seeking moocher that hates succesful people and only wants to drag them down, because that's what Rand thinks all people that disagree with her are like

I'd like to see Amber Heard in it tbH

>like say making the main character not be as much of an asshole?

Impossible. Being a huge asshole is part and parcel of the ideology.

it's kinda perfect for him
so many explosions/sex scenes/monologues

There was already a movie based off of this book.

Didn't we already get that with MoS?
Fucking hell, Ayn Rand just makes fapfiction for her supposed ideal male that doesn't give a shit about anyone. Fuck that book and reading it in highschool

Does Ayn pander to SJWs or MRAs? I've never gotten this figured out, both sides says different thing

I'd say mostly to MRAs. She hated feminists and her ideal man is an uber alpha to whom women submit to.

And Ayn Rand wrote the script too.

Neither?

ITT: Triggered communists

>Snyder
>Fountainhead movie

This is going to be such a catastrophe

as an actual european commie, nobody gets triggered by Ayn Rand because no one takes her seriously

And this is why Yurope is cucked.

are you excited for the return of the european right

i assume you commies are jumping at the new excuse to go flip cars and burn shops, and it'll be even more fun to watch when there's gangs of skinheads out to compete with you

>taking the writings of Alisa Zinov'yevna Rosenbaum seriously

The original with Gary Cooper was surprsingly good.

So you think that anyone that isn't an objectivist/libertarian is automatically a commie?
Yup, you sound like Ayn Rand all right.

god damn claire is fucking perfect

You sound like someone that has never read a Rand book before and only gets opinions about her from leddit or tumblr.

thats like calling someone out for never reading a GOT book

she's a shit writer

>objectivism

So admit that you are calling her a shit writer without ever even reading any of her books?

>rand

What's it like being 13?

I'm erect with anticipation of this guaranteed total trainwreck.

if snyder's fountainhead doesn't finally convince everyone the man is a literal retard, then humanity is truly lost.

>says the NEET that probably can't even get through Atlas Shrugged because you couldn't finish highschool.

I did read Rand. Anyone that disagrees with Rand is a death-seeker that is jealous and hates succesful people. They're all strawmen, anyone that isn't an objectivist is evil.

I can attest to this.

>muh Ayntology

What's a death-seeker?

Lol. Anyone who reads Atlas shrugged over the age 18 is a joke

>be objectivist
>get lunge cancer
>sing of for social security

They all want to die and bring the collapse on civilization. It's their secret goal.

Learn to spell.

>2 1/2 hours of shiting on collectivist scum

Yes please

>The "philosophy" is called objectivism
>It's objectively shit

>American philosophy

Rand was a feminist, just not a supporter of the identity-political riddled socialistic version that's displayed today

anyone who mooches off others

aka ayn rand

in collectivism she would have been buried while still alive

Well, to be fair, women weren't entirely equal to men yet in western civilization.

Unlike today where women are as equal (or even more privileged than) men.
Feminism still had a place back then, not today.

>all philosophy

>I've never spoken to a woman who's not my mom

What the fuck are you on about?

Here is a moment that proves how dumb Rand was. Not only is she being pretty racist, she's claiming that consumers don't matter to the economy at all, a store goes bankrupt even though it has paying customers.

>Now project the mentality of a savage, who can grasp nothing but the concretes of the immediate moment, and who finds himself transported into the midst of a modern, industrial civilization. If he is an intelligent savage, he will acquire a smattering of knowledge, but there are two concepts he will not be able to grasp: "credit" and "market."

>Then the savage observes that the department stores are full of wonderful goods, but people do not seem to buy them. "Why is that?" he asks a floorwalker. "We don't have enough of a market," the floorwalker tells him. "What is that?" he asks. "Well," his new teacher answers, "goods are produced for people to consume, it's the consumers that make the world go 'round, but we don't have enough consumers." "Is that so?" says the savage, his eyes flashing with the fire of a new idea. Next day, he obtains a check from a big educational foundation, he hires a plane, he flies away—and comes back, a while later, bringing his entire naked, barefoot tribe along. "You don't know how good they are at consuming," he tells his friend, the floorwalker, "and there's plenty more where these came from. Pretty soon you'll get a raise in pay." But the store, pretty soon, goes bankrupt.

>The poor savage is unable to understand it to this day—because he had made sure that many, many people agreed with his idea, among them many noble tribal chiefs, such as Governor [George, not Mitt] Romney, who sang incantations to "consumerism," and warrior Nader, who fought for the consumers' rights, and big business chieftains who recited formulas about serving the consumers, and chiefs who sat in Congress, and chiefs in the White House, and chiefs in every government in Europe, and many more professors than he could count.

For once I'm glad Hack Synder is ruining something.

>russian immigrant
>american

wat

She is 100% right. I don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

How is she right? How did the store go bankrupt?

Rest of quote
>But, in fact, consumers qua consumers are not part of anyone's market; qua consumers, they are irrelevant to economics. Nature does not grant anyone an innate title of "consumer"; it is a title that has to be earned—by production. Only producers constitute a market—only men who trade products or services for products or services.

...

television and film truly are the dumbest medias

They should just make a Bioshock movie

vidya

Very well then, enlighten me. Explain how an economic system can survive without consumers and why a store would go bankrupt if it has a bunch of customers.
Rand seems to view the economy as just rich producers trading with each other, this is quite evident in Atlas Shrugged. All the protagonist rich people deal with materials and transportation, there's a big disdain for the masses.

Yeah, the philosophy basically says that being selfish is a virtue, so naturally selfish assholes latch onto it.

>It's OK to blow up a building because I'm the architect and they dared modify my design
Why is this guy the hero again?

>mfw a literal Objectivist tried to make movies about superheroes

Is Snyder really an objectivist?

They better cut out the long boring monologues

Whether he is or not, whether people realize it or not, it appears that he's turned his career as a director into a performance art adaptation of "The Fountainhead's" central themes, at least from my cursory understanding of the book, never having read it.

Do you love niggers?

It's entirely bullshit and doesn't make sense dude, it's just philosophical rhetoric.

Objectivism is objectively shit and actually unnatural, altruism and cooperation are inherent human qualities passed down from the tribal stages of human social evolution.

...

The Patricia Neal version from 1948 basically is going to be impossible to beat, in that it fixed a lot of the bad shit from the novel to make it pretty compelling.

Indeed, the only thing Snyder can offer to the table is making a version that has Toohey suffering a horrific just punishment, as in the '48 movie and original novel, he fucking gets away with EVERYTHING and it's implied that he will continue to try and ruin Howard

To be fair that is a common trait of Rand's work: IE the villains ALWAYS get away with their shit and only the common shitlord actually pays the price for the main villains shit

SNYDERRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

More than objectivism per se I think Snyder is interested in exploring the creative process.
It'd certainly be interesting to watch, sonce he loves giving an unexpected spin to his adaptations.
