music for this feel?
Mbv blue
any good tweegaze out there besides rocketship?
i want to be comfy
help me be comfy
that was nice
youtube.com
whole ep is fun, but may lean a little too close to amphetamine laced jrock
I remember i was here months ago and someone posted a blog where you could download Jap music.
I loved it because I found some cool shoegaze there.
Anyone know what it was? i lost my bookmarks along with my old computer.
not sure if the links still work (been a while since ive even used it, and dont recall it being to heavy on shoegaze)

I'm sure you've heard Sweet Trip's YWKWY before but I totally forgot about it until today when I realized it was just as groovy as Rocketship.
Rocketship always made me think of a mix between You Will Never Know Why and Swirlies' Salons.
>open up Rocketship's Spotify page
>see "Burning Downtown" released in 2014
>huh ok I'll give it a listen
>first song has a ska/reggae groove
>wow they really changed style since the 90s
>look it up on RYM
>not there
>wat
>google turns up a soundcloud artist named Rocket Ship which is totally unrelated
TL;DR Spotify thinks Rocket Ship is Rocketship
Thanks user, I believe that one was it. Looks like it hasn't been updated in a while so hopefully the links still work. I'm trying to recuperate from a hdd crash.
what do i listen to thats shugazi that will make me cry
Anyone have a chart for noisy noise-wall albums?
grouper -- dragging a dead deer up a hill
Been listening to mbvs EPs, really like strawberry wine, shame its so short tho.
Anyone got anything similar sounding and longer to recommend?
There's a section on very noisy albums on this.
I'm boycotting this chart until this is added to proto-shoegaze
is there anything like flotation toy warning? flaming lips, magenta skycode and grandaddy aren't enough.
To user in previous thread, that's really sad about Fergus Miller. I hadn't heard of him but this is great youtube.com
the field mice occasionally get tweegazi
i haven't listened to them enough to know to what extent, but this one fits

Thee More Shallows - More Deep Cuts
It is a tad darker, but those two albums feels like two sides of the same coin to me
melrosee.bandcamp.com
>Canadian lofi slowcore/Shoegaze
FFO: Duster, pasteboard, and Bedhead
ah thanks, I've already listened to it but I forgot about it. there were great tracks in there!
is ambientpop accepted here?
youtube.com
i fux with ambient pop
>cover of Brazil
>on a shoegaze album
Thanks m8.
another good tweegaze band: the cat's miaow
youtube.com
Is pic related tweegaze?
Loveliescrushing or slow dive
...
I need some dreampop guys, rec me some stuff
boi
Just listened to shit.
It was pretty good but I wish there were more heavy tracks like the opener
I mean that albums pretty good but how is it related to shoegaze
this*
lol
are
they gaze
This is one of the greatest singles of all time. Why did Rocketship fall off so hard after their first LP?
GOAT
Could you recommend something similar?
Westkust - Last Forever
i think everyone but dusty left after their first album
and he decided he wanted to do ambient
Sometimes I feel like we need more ambient shoegaze just to make the chance of a good one coming out higher. There's gotta someone out there ready to blow our minds with new modern formless textures.
Is lovesliescrushing not enough for you?
I think this might be my favorite cover of all time
youtube.com
it's really good
but wheres the albums at tho
MBV's EPs from Sunny Sundae Smile through Strawberry Wine are all pretty noisy and twee
Definitely recommended
we need more than one artist doing it well though idk
this is literally only those 2 eps
and you're leaving out the new record and ecstasy
Strawberry Wine came after Ecstasy tho
ecstasy was released 2 weeks later than strawberry wine
why do people say the vocals on this are twee
they're like untrained sounding but not in a twee way it's more like in a raw punk way
Makes me happy to see Sugar Plant on Sup Forums
Happy is their best release
this was so nice, do you have a DL link?
cant find anything in the archives
It's straight up post punk. Has nothing to do with shoegaze.
I actually downloaded and listened to that once only to realize that I had already done so and deleted it like a year before. It's not bad at all but it's kinda like the shoegaze equivalent of elevator music to me, just not very memorable. Even now I'm struggling to actually recall how any of the songs went.
...
yeah! can do!
give me just a bit
Rocketship - a certain smile

This album is really underrated
youtube.com
tru tru
really gets the sort of heavy dense atmosphere across better than beat does
I'm listening to this for the first time in a while and I feel like it's not really shoegaze, it's like a slowcore + sludge metal hybrid. the guitars are super distorted like shoegaze, but not really that kind of fuzzy reverberating texture
the guitars remind me of something like dopesmoker instead of anything shoegaze
any screamgaze man in
youtube.com
youtube.com
why is this never talked about here
really reminds me of grouper
god this is so fucking good
So a little over two years ago I posted an album here that I wanted to be mathgaze but that was really just reverb-y math rock because I'm bad at meeting expectations. Then the followup album was trash so I didn't release it and it's taken this long to bring you this:
Suburban Deer - December Summer
>mathgaze, noise rock, experimental
suburbandeer.bandcamp.com
This is pretty much the sound I've been aiming for so I'm excited and I hope someone here will be excited about it too. It's still not pure shoegaze for sure, I think tracks 2, 4, 5 and 8 are by far the shoegaziest if the genre purists here would rather check those out first. Hopefully the opener doesn't scare anyone away, it's one of the least shoegazey songs and also the longest.
The third album is already about halfway done so hypothetically there should be more music within a couple months. Or maybe it'll be 2019 when you guys next hear from me (not counting the obligatory shilling I must now do for this album in the next few threads).
...
Yeah I was pretty disappointed after the opener. It was a smooth and mellow but didn't really grab me. Shame, I thought the opener had a more interesting sound than the rest of the album.
...
love ya
thanks man
Is there something that fuses Grunge and Shoegaze? Or Punk and Shoegaze?
Ovlov do. Kinda
youtube.com
Good shit anything similar to this?
I think I like that one more than this one
thanks famalam
nigga
Reminds me a bit of placebo which is always a good thing since placebo is subpar but have a good sound.
haven't given them a listen yet
is it worth it
Not even shoegaze but they have a decent album or two with a few songs that are pretty good but nothing special.
youtube.com
Anyone else got some good live shows? Preferably something more intimate like this but whatever is fine.
Meds has a really good atmosphere to it, not shoegaze but people who like the genre will probably dig it.
suis la lune is skramzgaze?!? I need to give em another listen. Loma Prieta's latest record is pretty skramzgaze.
i like that
i think like one guy talked about it when it came out but then not that many people actually gave it a listen
it's a shame really
it's a lot like grouper, might even be better
grouper gets talked a lot here
did i hear "grouper"?
I'll give it a listen soon.
thanks anons.
bump
Why are these threads so slow lately?
>Gris
>Blackgaze
reeeeeeeeeeeeee
These threads are always slow
they're close enough
>might even be better
that's a wild claim
>a certain smile
this was so good, thanks m8
Does sadgaze exist? What album best suits the description?
Souvlaki fit the bill? Deathconsciousness if you want something more along the lines of suicide-inducing than sad.
This is pretty good
