Unlike many other countries, there is a sports culture in Bulgaria, all our athletes need is funding and the attention of the people. I think it's very doable.

A good example is Grigor Dimitrov and our Voleyball team, they are pretty great for a small country's team.

Ethic nationalism is on the rise, there are more and more folk festivals with higher and higher attendance. I see more and more flags on houses, public transport and people's cars.

In terms of religion people here are not atheists in general, but are not fanatical about it either. I think most Bulgarians are religious when it suits them, during holidays or when someone has passed. We know that we are indebted to the Bulgarian church for preserving a large number of our culture and language and will be hesitant to abandon it.

The birth rates aren't as bad. The ones who have the child birthing abilities are moving away leaving the statistics looking worse than they really are. All in all there are 12mil Bulgarians world wide, the population drop isn't THAT horrible. Population replacement rates are good considering that many young people are leaving.
