tfw when people dont have bigger things to worry about than

>friends share vaporwave posts on Facebook

Why are you complaining? All I see is people sharing LADbible posts on fb

>Using social media at all
>calling other people normies

Normies ruin everything. It's fact

>i like thing
>now normies like thing
>i don't like thing

>/mu didnt kill vaporwave in 2014

no
>I like thing
>normies ironically share thing so it becomes normie meme
>nobody takes it seriously
>feel bad because you genuinely enjoy a joke genre
>can't play it in front of anybody without at least one person laughing.

who cares if somebody laughs? you're an adult aren't you? i mean they probably listen to top 40 trash and rap. who cares?

>enjoy meme
>meme get memed even more
>omg fucking normies ruining me listening to shitty meme music
die please vaporwave is awful and was always a meme

If your little meme was something Normies could enjoy, it was always Normie.

>people listen to the same thing over and over (mainstream music, since its all they know and so are able to listen to)
>complain
>they start to try underground music
>complain

decide yourself

hello normies

atleast i dont listen to meme music unironically (or ironically for that matter)

It's pretty surreal. When I checked the comments back when it had 3 mil views or so it was filled with a e s t h e t i c memes.
I check back at 20mil views and now it's filled with a meme I had never even seen before.

/music plays

Who the fuck cares though?
>There are tons of people who both enjoy vaporwave unironically and as a meme.
>Everyone enjoys it in their own way.
>They also probably like music that they enjoy unironically that you laugh at.
>It's bad when they do it to you though because your fee fees might get hurt.
Just learn to enjoy things ffs.

“The next real literary “rebels” in this country might well emerge as some weird bunch of anti-rebels, born oglers who dare somehow to back away from ironic watching, who have the childish gall actually to endorse and instantiate single-entendre principles. Who treat of plain old untrendy human troubles and emotions in U.S. life with reverence and conviction. Who eschew self-consciousness and hip fatigue. These anti-rebels would be outdated, of course, before they even started. Dead on the page. Too sincere. Clearly repressed. Backward, quaint, naive, anachronistic. Maybe that’ll be the point. Maybe that’s why they’ll be the next real rebels. Real rebels, as far as I can see, risk disapproval. The old postmodern insurgents risked the gasp and squeal: shock, disgust, outrage, censorship, accusations of socialism, anarchism, nihilism. Today’s risks are different. The new rebels might be artists willing to risk the yawn, the rolled eyes, the cool smile, the nudged ribs, the parody of gifted ironists, the “Oh how banal.” To risk accusations of sentimentality, melodrama. Of overcredulity. Of softness. Of willingness to be suckered by a world of lurkers and starers who fear gaze and ridicule above imprisonment without law. Who knows. ”

shut the fuck up OP
you're not the only one that likes that shitty genre ironic or not.

OP:
>Uses memebook
>normies reeeeee!
>vaporwave needs to dieeee!
>i hate memes even though i enjoy them on a daily basis!

Why couldn't OP just die choking on cock?

exactly

post-irony went mainstream like 2015 you n00ber
your humor is the same as the filthy frank fanbase

how the fuck is slowing down someone else's song a genre?
you guys are just as cringeworthy as those who upload sped up pop songs with anime girls as "nightcore"

both genres are nothing but an embarrassment to music

>he thinks vaporwave is just memes and slowing down songs

normies only know mac plus and saint pepsi, they don't care enough to find the actual good stuff the genre has to offer.

>actual good stuff the genre has to offer.
try less lmao

vaporwave has always been a meme

saint pepsi is future funk

It's honestly a shame Vaporwave became an internet meme and a point of humour rather than a serious attempt at art.

There's something really intriguing about the sampling of commercial music and the way it's manipulated, although it's mostly just a shallow emotional connection.

A lot of it reminds me of William Basinski's Disintegration Loops, there's a real melancholic feel and sense of lost past which works well for the current age.

Chris Ott thinks The Disintegration Loops are the work of a hack and that Chuck Person's Eccojams is a work of genius.

youtube.com/watch?v=KGE7q0oDlEI

The thing is, he's probably right.

What will we do when normies take over all our memes and music?

Does it ever get uncomfortable having Pitchfork's dick jammed down your throat?

Vaporwave is one thing I don't mind going mainstream. No one is really getting famous and rich off it.

What are some of the good ones, in your opinion?

I like bbrainz and luxury elite.

>future funk.
This one is even worse because they do fuck all to the track, they simply just compile it with some shitty nu-disco transitions, slap a sailor moon GIF and call it a genre.

why do you give so much shit about it?

Chris Ott had long disassociated himself from p4k when he made that video. If you actually watched it then you'd realise the point of the video is to express that he believes p4k's opinion of TDL is just completely fucking wrong. Dickhead.

>he's on one of Sup Forums's most normie boards complaining about normies
I bet you're a normie yourself. Add 1 point for each of the following that applies to you; 5 points and you're a normie, 1-4 points and you're a failed normie.
>no rotting teeth
>no diagnosed mental illnesses
>no physical abnormalities
>never been bullied
>never been mocked by women
>not poor
>has or had friends
>has or had a gf
>did well in school
>good hygiene
>can make eye contact
>can make conversation
>has an average or above-average penis
>doesn't cut his own hair
>doesn't get called ugly by complete strangers
>has ever had a job
>has any practical skills
>babies don't cry when they look at him
>young children don't disrespect him
There's much more, but this should suffice.

Is this b8?

No, it's not. On /r9k/ we hate seeing the normies on the other boards, who all lost their virginities and go to parties, talk about how they're not normies because they list to Death Grips or some vaguely experimental music. You're not special snowflakes, you're prententious normalfaggots.

>You're not special snowflakes
neither are you, fag

Disintegration Loops is sort of a hack, and without the accompanying story I probably wouldn't pay it any mind whatsoever.

But it just seems to work so well, and I'm obsessed with 9/11 (not as a conspiracy theorist but as a historical event) so 'it is what you make it' applies, I make a lot of it.

ITT:

Vaporwave has been a "normie" thing for years. When will Sup Forums accept it's death? Same goes for Death Grips. You're not in some super secret underground club because you like them, the majority of people 18+ who listen to things other than chart music are familiar with DG.

This. Grow up you retards.

There isnt enough good vaporwave music, thats why. Even back then I knew リサフランク420 / 現代のコンピュー stood out as the only good vaporwave track.

I don't laugh at music unless it's intentionally comedic.

its one of my albums even ignoring the 9/11 shit.

its the only album that truly has life, the birth and death of music

mate it was a fucking meme before normies found it

>he actually thinks vaporwave is not just memes and slowing down songs

Please, consider suic- no no no, just go ahead and kill yourself you pathetic piece of steamy horseshit. You're cancer and nobody likes you, not even your """friends""" or parents. Vaporwave is bad and you should kill yourself for that. Go ahead, do it, do a favor to this stupid world now.

I unironically enjoy the 420 song very much. I don't think it's just a meme: the track has many enjoyable elements. First, it's catchy. Second, it has a unique and appealing atmosphere: the alienation and nostalgia of an early 90s shopping mall. There is something kind of sad about it. It's just a fascinating, hypnotic track.
