What is the best scene in this trilogy? It's fucking impossible to pick just one.

Literally anything with Sam
The one where a bunch of CGI shit fought a bunch of other CGI shit while CGI fires raged around.
LOTR is garbage
the ending? aww good choice
youtube.com
>mfw hearing it for the first time
How can anyone be so perfect?
(You)
That's like 40 minutes from the ending, friend.

Nothing in my life will ever stick with me like this scene did.
the movie doesn't really have good individual scenes, it's all flow and setup/payoff
of course that flow is ruined as soon as they hit rohan. who are these people?
>the movie doesn't really have good individual scenes
there are countless, amazing individual scenes in this trilogy
>"Yes. Yes! The horn of Helm Hammerhand shall sound in the deep, one last time."
>Théoden: "Let this be the hour when we draw swords together."
>Théoden: "Fell deeds awake. Now for wrath. Now for ruin. And the red dawn!"
right in the feels
well memed friend
SSSSSSSSNEK
BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
...
GOAT speech. Even gollum looks touched.
>the movie doesn't really have good individual scenes
lmao
Hobbit party and banter scenes deserve a shout too
>He doesnt share the LOAD
...
How could i forget? but...
>our people
>white city
Hope Boromir wasn't a bigoted racist. Hope he died defending trans rights to be honest family.
Immediately after I posted that shitpost I regretted it and I'm not sure why. I'll try it again another day I guess. I just watched Ygritte die in GoT and I'm really depressed.
>I would have you smile again, not grieve for those whose time has come.
Just look at this ugly brightness around the characters, one of the first to do this to cover up all the shitty cgi.
>fanfest.com
I am glad I saw these movies in my early 20's otherwise I wouldn't be able to tolerate these cringworthy scenes.
3 movies and the only things i remember are you shall not pass, potatos, and the gayass bed scene ending
>Dr. Hammond, I'm Paleontologist
How the FUCK
How the FLYING FUCK
did The Hobbit turn out so fucking hideously horrible?
Still angry.
How could you forget meat being back on the menu?
There was a lot of shit in lotr, but it benefited from being able to rush through a really long story.
The hobbit didn't have much story and it slowly plodded through it.
it wasnt a ytmnd
>that third time he yells "DEATH" with a slightly higher pitch
That ending scene was a cringe fest
>That terrible green screen
>Awkward as fuck faces
>Frodo ffs
Ruined the whole climax for me.
youtube.com
Not my favorite scene but it was a great way to show Aragorn really taking charge becoming a leader of men in his own right.
>tfw not a man of the West
>probably be a Haradrim foot soldier in the LoTR universe
>chances are Faramir would kill me in Ithilien or even worse, get crushed under the weight of my own Mumakil
this wins every time.
youtube.com
>What about side by side with a friend?
>For Frodo
>That Eomer look when he gazes around, knows he will most likely die but remains calm and based as always
Best scene in th trilogy.
>The hobbit didn't have much story and it slowly plodded through it.
That's the EXACT opposite of the truth.
The Hobbit story was rushed as fuck, and all scenes were stuffed with retarded action nonsense.
In LoTR, the characters had TIME to be characters, just sit down and talk once in a while.
>when the charge meets and the music just cuts the fuck out
I'll never 100% trust someone who doesn't love lotr.
What ps3 game is this ?
The hobbit is a fraction of the length of lord of the rings. Even the book is "rushed" with barely any time to really establish characters.
I like that homoerotic scene between Frodo and Sam (all of them)
Are you fucking listening, you piece of shit?
They made THREE movies out of a fucking notebook, and it still feels rushed.
It's a slow and deliberate story, and they made it a fucking tech-demo CGI action reel. ALL it had was atmosphere and adventure, and they cut it all out.
Fuck you. Fuck Peter Jackson. Fuck everything.
it shouldve been two movies. so much stupid filler that was tom bombadil tier
And let's not forget that it was also a truly masterful lesson of Kino editing.
>tom bombadil tier
U wot m8
There's nothing wrong with Tom Bombadil.
Those fucking war scenes, though. God damn.
I fucking love the imagery of the Eye of Sauron visible through the open gate at the end. I know it's not geographically accurate but I feel it was a worthy trade off.
Fucking Jackson, what happened?
The entire Gandalf vs Balrog fight is the most based scene of the trilogy.
But my personal favourite has to be the ending of Fellowship, with Aragorn's little speech to Legolas and Gimli, and then Frodo and Sam heading off alone in their adventure, with a "Concerning Hobbits" choir as the credits show
It's a pile of shit no doubt, but it has it's rare moments
>tfw patiently waiting for a lotr mod for warhammer total war.
Don't care if it takes a decade, I'll prolong my early death as long as I have to.
Sorry for vidya-faggotry but this thread has got me in the mood. The Third Age mod is amazing even with it's many, many limitations.
how the fuck did nobody mention this part? youtube.com
Kek.
if they had just straight adapted the hobbit, it would be about 65 minutes long.
Ned Stark's death was pretty feely all the way through
They're making one for Attila first because Warhammer is severely restricted on the modding side even then don't expect Third Age tier as we can't edit the map or script certain events/quests
This scene.
Sir Lee owned Saruman
youtube.com
Yeah I haven't been keeping up because of work (shit, I only have like 5 hours in WHTW) but I was shattered by the similar decision made with FO4.
If this is the brave new face of gaming then I might as well kill myself.
>That music
LOTR is very close to perfection
I always find it funny because it was a pretty shitty speech. Inspirational sure, but they'll die regardless.
>By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!
PROBLEMATIC
Great scene, but
>stopping on the hill, letting the orcs reform into a pike wall, then charging into it
Literally what? They could have had a mean mother fucking flanking maneuver but they fucked it up
>ywn again see this scene for the first time in the cinema and get the full goosebumps experience
Dude, don't analyze the tactics and strategies of these films, it will only ruin them for you.
Take them for what they are. We're lucky we even get lines where both sides talk about the battle plan. Compare to what we got in the Hobbit, aka KILL EM ALL AND LET CGI SORT EM OUT.
this made me tear up when i watched it
youtube.com
>dat music
>Merry's fucking face when
My mate called me a fucking idiot when I told him TTT was better then Force Awakens.
Literally what the fuck is wrong with people.
Never got what's so good about this scene. It's just ok to me.
>Samwise the brave, Frodo wouldn't have gotten far without Sam
fuck the Roham music gives me chills like no joke.
Best scene of the trilogy? Anything with Boromir. Sean Bean owned Fellowship.
>By the blood of our people, are your lands kept safe!
>It is a strange fate that we should suffer so much fear and doubt, over so small a thing...
>I would have followed you my brother, my captain, my king.
Based Bean.
youtube.com
gets me literally every time
Not sure why this doesn't get more love.
First, the atmosphere is amazing. It reminds me of the scene in alien when they're in the old ship. We get a brief glimpse into a forgotten world and are lucky enough to see one of its many secrets.
Second, the balrog as a sort of lovecraftian, nebulous thing that exudes light in a dark world is even better than its physical manifestation, not that I dislike the physical manifestation is bad; I think that was also done quite well. There's just something about the line, "A Balrog. A demon of the ancient world. This foe is beyond any of you." that makes me giddy every time.

>post yfw
>mfw
I mentioned it here
It is quite literally the most epic, perfect monster scene ever. I love the "HUH" screams in the music, and that "AAAHHHH" when Gandalf says the bridge is near. The score was composed by the Gods themselves during the entire Mines of Moria segment. Taking out the slight silly battle inside the tomb and the staircase platform scenes, it's quite possibly the best thing i've ever seen, even the Two Towers continuation with Gandalf and the Balrog falling down the pit.
Too bad that entire scene was ruined later by hack writing via giving Faramir a get-out-of-death-free card because he's a named character. Those other knights who rode and died bravely? Eh, who gives a fuck about them.
It's not like Faramir does anything useful after that anyways, so who cares
> 15 years
holy shit how is it even possible to be this wrong?
n-no
It's still shitty, hacky storytelling.
Were the books that bad?
>because Warhammer is severely restricted on the modding side
They support mods I heard. You just have to post them on twcenter.
Good choice.
I've always really enjoyed Sam's speech at the end of the Two Towers. It really polished off the movie really well.
youtube.com
spooky as all hell
Same guy.
I think the reason why I like it is because Tolkien remarked that Sam was his favourite character and I assume by that he put many of his thoughts in the voice of Sam. Even though this speech in question is shorter in the book and takes place elsewhere I like to think that it has some relevance to Tolkiens experience of the first world war and reconciling his beliefs with his surroundings. Maybe that's all bunk.
Honestly GoT surpassed it long ago.
You mean cringy as hell?
Honestly bait surpassed yours long ago
>Horns Hailing Us
Literally biggest chills every goddamn time
I tear up every time it gets to that part.
>tfw Theoden will never be your king
>getting stabbed by burkha bitches
Frodo is so pathetic here. Still a good scene though.
Dude they had to reform the line before the charge anyway, and with realistic tactics the orks would've had scouts or flank protection
