Thoughts on this album?

I just discovered The Cure recently and I absolutely love it.

it's great, one of the few albums where all the tracks are 10/10

First half is god tier, starts losing steam in the second half, still great overall

10/10

Pure musiqe

Homesick is the best, Closedown is probably the worst, but still it is an amazing album

I wish it ended after Homesick, it's a perfect closer imo

I like Untitled as the closer, it just feels so numb and hungover, like the day after a breakup

second half is best
self-titled song made the album

best album of the 80's. the joshua tree can suck a dick

Sooooooooooooooo overrated

"Omg he's sad and British and it's from the 80s, I identify with this despite being born in middle class America in the mid-late 90s *SHUT UP MOM I DONT CARE THAT YOURE GOING TO STARBUCKS IM SAD AF RN AND LISTENING TO THE CURE JUST GET ME A PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE GOD NOW LEAVE ME THE FRICK ALONE*"

you okay senpai?

what are you fucking gay?

Go to sleep negro

checked

is there a specific name for the watery guitar tone robert smith uses or is it just "assload of flange"

He used this guitar.

I like the whole thing from start to finish really.

Plainsong is a really good opener, Disintegration is the "climax' so to speak, then Homesick and Untitled are the falling action.

Sounds like someone's accurate assessment of the sitch hit a bit too close to home eh? ;^)

oh shit are those built in effects??

i knew a guy in college who swore up and down he used a rotating speaker cabinet, is there any truth to that

Plainsong is so glorious

dont get mad plebioli

I like both tracks, but would say that swapping Homesick and untitled would somewhat improve the album.

>you're not allowed to enjoy british music because I'm from a country that has less culture and national identity than fucking belgium
Why are merry cunts such pathetic subhumans? What causes such degradation in one's character?

>worships "royalty" and is overrun by black muslims who will outnumber the natives very soon
>can't legally defend yourselves
>"we have an amazing culture and national identity. America sucks!"
:-D

It has the same kind of instant impact like A Funeral Party but it's a bit more uplifting. Perfect opener.

The Cure is one of my favorite bands.
