There'll always be 14 year-olds.
Punk is for spotty 13 year olds who got grounded again.
Punk is still alive and well. You just don't have any major labels cashing in on it.

>university/big northern city marxist"
I know this is kind of a tongue and cheek comment, but is pretty disappointing how many of these people aren't not marxists. Often times they are disregard what marxist philosophy because it is a white European masculine philosophy. Finding a genuine marxist qt is actually tough. A lot of the political currents on college campuses tend to go against a lot of marxist strategies.
They claim they're marxists but they've probably never read anything beyond some snappy youtube video "explaining" marx in 5 minutes to some generic upbeat ukulele indie music.
Punk music is dead. Punk attitude is not dead.
Huh. I have the opposite experience. Generally, the college activist types refuse labels or claim to be some sort of anarchist based off a youtube video or Wikipedia page.
No music genre is dead.
