ITT opinions you have where you disagree with most people on Sup Forums
>I like Yung Lean >Experimental Jet Set Trash and No Star is underrated and one of Sonic Youth's best albums >Government Plates is one of DG's best albums >emo is trash >Kendrick Lamar is trash >Animal Collective is trash except for STGSTV >I like Crystal Castles >most of Burial's work is boring and Skream and HPP are the superior dubstep artists >The Strokes were a decent pop rock band but nothing special >Yeezus is Kanye's best album >Radiohead is numale trash
I would say those are all majority opinions on mu.
Angel Collins
>le 2cool4school post-ironic meme post ;-)
Epin. simply epin.
Matthew Johnson
Sup Forums loves emo and they dick ride Burial and Radiohead all the time
Ethan White
notm is better though
Hunter Martinez
Skream made some absolutely brilliant dubstep, man's responsible for some seriously all time dubstep tunes
Then he made some really shit dubstep now he's doing total bait rubbish house and techno, seriously one of the worst djs out. Fuck his early stuff was good though. How do you go so wrong?
Daniel Gonzalez
Acid People and Midnight Request line are ascended god tier tracks.
Josiah James
Well, I think differently, so I guess that makes you a faggot
Robert Adams

>Boris is mediocre at best >The King of limbs is worse than the Bends >David Bowie had like 3 good albums, Blackstar is not one of them >ABBA is god tier mom-pop >NIN was never good
Ayden Bell
>Blackstar is not one of them
Did anybody like Blackstar? I like David Bowie too but Blackstar was boring.
Agreed about ABBA. I would also add Pet Shop Boys to that category.
Agreed about NIN.
Brandon Allen
>Radiohead is for numale >he likes yung lean
Colton Wilson
Every generic flannel shirt wearing Starbucks sipping SJW faggot that I know listens to Radiohead and they think the music is so deep and intellectual.
Yung Lean is for robots and at least we know the music is silly and we don't take it so seriously. Numales would probably find Yung Lean offensive because he says faggot
Jason Bennett
Radiohead is literally Coldplay for bearded reddit homos who think they're too smart for Coldplay.
Yung Lean is aesthetic as fuck
Leo Richardson
>not being homo get with the times, grandpa
Owen Gutierrez
>aesthetic as fuck
David Howard
>not being asexual
Enjoy your STDs cuck
Anthony Martin
>Dark Side of the Moon is a fucking fantastic album >Queen is underappreciated on this board >ItCotCK is overrated as hell
Landon Rodriguez
>Dark Side of the Moon is a fucking fantastic album
Agreed except Money was a garbage song desu. Without that song it would be a flawless album.

are you implying that an artist's fanbase can't tell you a lot about the artist
Jayden Fisher
Actually listening to an artist can tell you a lot about them.
Ryder Ross
Yes and I have
You're trying to catch me with some sort of GOTCHA comment but it's not going to work
Austin Clark
So now that we know your opinion on the fanbase, whats your opinion on the music? Because rational people are able to seperate the two.
Cooper Wood
Radiohead's music? It takes influences from genuinely good music like krautrock and Aphex Twin but it dilutes it into bland, generic pseudo-intellectual drivel. They masquerade as cutting edge when in actuality they play it safe with their music and never push boundaries too far. Radiohead is inherently dishonest and inauthentic as a creative project. There is nothing interesting or noteworthy about their music.
Yung Lean's music is silly but catchy and fun.
Luke Walker
You are basically taking the Scaruffi route here. Your critique is the band portrays itself as something more than it is, but you do not say how. Now, for me, I don't feel as though they are doing that. Now let me apply your thinking to Radiohead when I feel as if they are "honest". They are catchy. That is enough for you to feel justified liking Young Lean so as you can see this should be enough for me.
Jaxson Johnson
Also I'd like to add that I feel your notion that they portray themselves as more than they actually are probably stems from how you see their fans.
Jason Nguyen
Yung Lean's music videos capture the dissociation and confusion of having grown up in the 2000s and realizing now that the adult world is bullshit and not what they promised you
Ryder Turner
Throwing my 2 cents in >Swans is overrated, especially SFTB >The Man-Machine is not Kraftwerk's best album, that's actually Radio-Activity >Death Grips is pretty cool >Grimes is really boring >A lot of good comes out of Africa for the music industry, see African Polyrhythms >The Weeknd, Danny Brown and Kanye West are all terrible >ITAOTS is 6/10 at best >Vaporwave is the best musical genre to come out of recent times (2010s-ish) >The Velvet Underground & Nico is standard 60s rock a la The Rolling Stones >Aphex Twin is kinda boring and repetitive >Godspeed You! Black Emperor's best album is not LYSFLATH, that is actually F# A# Infinity >King Crimson is a really cool band >Progressive Rock is a really cool genre >Animal Collective is terribly overrated >Devo's best album is not QnA, that's actually New Traditionalists >Rap is, as a whole, really really overrated >Scaruffi's more often right than he is wrong, but Christgau's still shit >The KKB Crusher meme is really stale and not funny anymore >King Crimson's best album is actually Beat. I will fight anyone on this >Lyrical content doesn't matter as much if it sounds good >Radiohead is really overrated >A downloaded music collection over 60 gigabytes is not necessary >CDs are better than Vinyl >Ska's a really cool genre >My Chemical Romance has produced some really good content (some) >Mathrock needs more exposure
Mason Butler
>Death Grips is pretty cool
Yes but isn't that a common opinion on Sup Forums
>Vaporwave is the best musical genre to come out of recent times (2010s-ish)
I like vaporwave but this is wrong
>The Velvet Underground & Nico is standard 60s rock a la The Rolling Stones
No it isn't. It was ahead of its time in a lot of ways.
>Aphex Twin is kinda boring and repetitive
wrong
>King Crimson is a really cool band
Yes but isn't that a common opinion on Sup Forums
>CDs are better than Vinyl
Nobody but a middle aged dad or a hipster faggot from 2008 would say otherwise.
Ryder Nelson
>hipster faggot from 2008 isn't that Sup Forums though also how was TVU&N ahead of its time?
Owen Cruz
>how was TVU&N ahead of its time?
It had elements of dream pop, punk, alternative, and noise rock
Michael Hall
Haven't been on Sup Forums in quite some time and am just passing by, so I don't know if anything's changed drastically.
The Mouse and The Mask is my favorite DOOM album. Madvillainy is a VERY close 2nd and I totally understand why it's most peoples' #1, however. Also Operation Doomsday is good, but it's a bit rough around the edges in all ways outside of DOOM rapping itself. Most of his other albums are better overall packages.
Alive 2007 is by far Daft Punk's best work, and one of the greatest live albums of all time. Few live albums actually manage to have the crowd noise enhance the music in a significant way.
Merriweather Post Pavillion is my favorite AnCo album, mostly because the concise and consistent soundscape of "Backyard during the Summer with the Hose on" is so strong. Summertime Clothes is legitimately my favorite track of theirs, period.
Frances The Mute is the best The Mars Volta album. Cignus...Vismund Cignus is a fucking incredible track. The Widow is also an earworm that'll occasionally get stuck in my head at random even if I haven't listened to it in months.
Kayden Nelson
really? I have to give it another listen
Luke Lewis
>Aphex Twin is kinda boring and repetitive you've listened to only saw
here I only have one opinion that I care to post that will trigger probably most of you >confield, untilted, and draft 7.30 are autechre's best three albums and will never be topped
Jason Cox
TV On The Radio is the shit, and this is a GOAT EP.
Julian Lee
>you've listened to only saw guilty, though I've also listened to the Windowlicker thing
Brayden Mitchell
WHERES THE LIE THO
Lincoln Sanders
I dont like emo music. Its getting hard to pretend i do when talking to this cutie i like.
Julian Thomas
>being such a beta you pretend to like a shitty genre just to be nice to a girl
how fucking gay
Josiah Mitchell
then you owe it to yourself to listen to the richard d james album probably druqks too
Brandon Brown
Gonna get around to it soon, thanks mate
Mason Watson
>>David Bowie had like 3 good albums, Blackstar is not one of them Now that's a wrong opinion if I have ever seen one.
Camden Roberts
But 90s emo is pretty good and comfy.
Joshua Bennett
>radiohead songs are bland and forgettable >recording quality and production rarely matter in the grand scheme of things >f#a#infinity is their best album >folk punk was one of the best things that came out of the 00s >daft punk is terrible >nirvana was great >sublime was also great >sometimes when i listen to a new artist i just play their top few tracks on spotify instead of listening to albums
Benjamin Parker
Early Swans is really great Death Grips is lame but I love Zach Grimes is far worse than simply boring Aphex Twin did a lot more than SAW you know King Crimson is my favorite band, best lineup is Islands Progressive Rock is one of my favorite genres King Crimsons best album is either Islands or LTIA Mathrock had a lot of exposure in the late 00s, most of the stuff being made today is not very good.
Adrian Morales
Essential Sup Forums-core is too often criticized on this board with ridiculous arguments like:
>get your own taste >listening to what others tell you to listen to
Every album made that chart for a reason, and there is over 250 albums on the chart. It takes time to get through, especially with multiple listens.
Ian Stewart
> Hail to the Thief is better than Amnesiac, The Bends, In Rainbows, and just as good as OK Computer and Kid A (Pablo Honey and The King of Limbs are obviously worse) > Jenny Death is a 10/10 > Progressive Metal > Progressive Rock > Hospice sucks > My Beautiful Dark Twisted Seven out of Ten
Blake Thomas
>Hospice sucks It does and I don't take anyone who says otherwise seriously
