this specific version. it's the only time I've ever cried to music

youtu.be/d4tkiGvV_ek

I fell off a ladder and broke my leg. Meanwhile, Smile Empty Soul was playing. I sat for 20 minutes listening to that garbage before anyone came.

The last time I actually cried to a song was this one when I was 15.

I think it's kinda weird in retrospect, but when I was 15, I felt like I couldn't talk to anyone about my anxiety and this song kinda spoke to me

I think the only time I've ever cried was when I first heard Reckoner.

One of my friends died unexpectedly when we were both 18. This song actually helped and I did cry a little to it once. It's simultaneously goofy, ironic, and the most sincere thing ever

actually kinda liked that. thanks for sharing

A few TMBG songs, most distinctly the ending of Lincoln and this song
youtube.com/watch?v=LZqx-tm3O3U
it hits too close to home.

I'm not sure if I'd go so far as to say I've cried, but I've gotten very teary and emotional to two off of Everyone Else (Horseshoe Crab, and The Last Time I Saw My Horse), as well as a few Chopin pieces. There's almost certainly more, but that's all I can think of.

I'm not counting stuff that made or makes me cry because it was in the soundtrack of a movie or show, that's cheating.

The Strokes - I Can't Win
Song isnt that sad but its about being lonely, and it hit me right in the feels

Videotape - Radiohead

Gets me every time

I actually have a slightly different experience about this song.
>on long drive to a different city, AMSP just came out so I'm listening to it
>highway is just one lane both ways so I'm doing the thing where you use the opposite lane to pass when it's empty
>at one point, didn't see that there was a car coming the opposite way, I finish passing the one in my lane but leave less than 100ft between me and the approaching car
>by that point if I didn't switch lanes we would've hit head on going 80 mph in opposite directions
Although I was scared, nothing happened but right after, True Love Waits started and my shitty driving hit me like a ton of bricks. I basically thought of how stupid it would be if all my friends, family, etc lost me because I couldn't wait 30 seconds to pass a car safely on the highway. It did scare me into driving safer but I can barely listen to True Love Waits now because it gives me immense guilt and a fear of mortality

Also the reason I associated that song with death was because I thought of it as being from the perspective of my mom after I had hypothetically died if I hit the car

haven't experienced this but the way you describe it is very relate able. with listening perspectives etc.

intense

The song is somehow uplifting despite the lyrics being so sad.
