...

I agree

This

Seriously?
The opening track was the reason why I dropped this album along with smashing pumpkins forever.
Just an awful band.

Literally the most overrated track Joy Division ever made

...

No song gets me into an album like Cherub Rock.

But it seems like they didn't perform it a lot live? Why is it?

Not even almost

Good not great

hahahahahahahaha

Honestly i only know this song because i was forced to buy it for rocksmith

Thanks for your contribution

No problem.

it's true, achtung baby was the original ok computer

Born Under Punches is a great opener but the live version of it on The Name of this Band is Talking Heads is infinitely superior that the album version seems quaint by comparison.

Gonna check this out ty, I would have loved to see them in their prime

no

...

> lol k computer

get off my keks

Jesus fucking Christ the intro to this album is pure ecstasy.

this album is so unmemorable

doesn't mean it's bad but

I listened to it 4-5 times already and don't remember any song, any melody or any sound from it

Do it again

In The Flesh?
G.O.A.T.

angsty shit

Sounds like you've got Alzheimer's. Seek help.

This might be a contender.

Everyone btfo

LIFE'S ILL

I agree Cherub Rock is the greatest opener ever

But Leave Them All Behind by Ride is easily a top 5 contender. Fucking amazing opening

This is a cool choice. You're not going to convince anyone. But it's a cool choice.

the GOAT

Wrong

These

r u fucking kidding me

...

Scaruffi leave

Agreed on all fronts

But y'all don't even know...

Wong. Cherub Rock might be the worst song on that album.

Search harder. They played it many times live, to the point of overkill. They stopped playing it live during the Adore era.

Opens with War Pigs. I WIN.

But seriously, To Shelia, The Melancholy Theme, and The Everlasting Gaze are all better than Cherub Rock.

Lol, I kinda feel bad for feeling like you.
All I remember is the guitar sound, which was lush and stonery. And a song named Hammer and Silverfuck

Shoegaze albums openers never dissapoint. Only Shallow, Seagull, Allison, Breathe and Way the World Is prepare you well for the respective albums.

WRONG

Hummer* GET IT RIGHT PLEB RRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

everybody who isn't mentioned in this post get the fuck off this board

Mfw mentioned in the post. Feels good man.

...

okay, you have to leave now

...

>Thunder Road
>not the greatest opening track of all time

good
best
not even best on the album boyo
>rhyming masses with masses
D R O P P E D

I disagree

Not even as good as Freak Scene.

First six minutes of this album is quite possible the greatest piece of music to be associated with the genre, post rock.

...

correct

Broken Windows, Locks of Love Part III is better

/thread

this thread is over

Freak Scene perfectly introduces the album and defines the indie rock of the 80s
